I've used IDS for four major projects (and a fifth is starting soon). I initially hired the company to repoint the front and side of my brick townhouse and to wall over an old AC box. They did a great job, so I hired them to do the back of the house, where they ultimately had to rebuild some very bad sections lurking beneath stucco. After an issue with a different contractor, I hired them to redo my drywall, and the team did a really nice job. Then I hired them to build new piers in my crawlspace. Next, they're doing insulation. Jeremy, the owner, seems very knowledgable. His project manager Kostas has been fantastic to work with, as has Raissa, who managed the latest. The teams have in each case arrived on time and worked incredibly hard. When unexpected issues arise (and they do, of course) the project managers address them. I'm sure you could find a less expensive contractor. But you get what you pay for and I'm glad that I don't have to worry about projects that drag on forever or fear for the quality of work performed.

The other contractor on Yelp didn't have the proper insurance when we were going through HOA submission and just kept dragging us along even after they started the work. We went through weeks of searching for companies and most companies didn't have the actual proper insurance and license to work in Virginia. Once blue collar scholars took over, the job got on track and communication was perfect. During the permitting, inspection scheduling, framing, and finishing portions of the job. We now have a custom gazebo and a full Trex deck that our whole family loves during the spring, summer and fall months. When it is warm in the winter, we are also out on it as well. This job was completed in the summer of 2023 and we are now using them for some interior work.

I initially hired Gerber to tune-up all my existing pavers, add a new paver driveway, and add some new path lighting. Adding the new driveway was somewhat of a challenge as the adjacent paver sidewalks were initially constructed over 10 years ago. So, Gerber was able to find a great match to my existing pavers and masterfully piece the new driveway together in such a fashion where old and new appear seamless. Amazing!!! During the process, we learned that his team also offered landscaping. So as the hardscaping and lighting was coming to an end, his team met with us for a design consultation. Both Kathy and Katherine brought some great experience/knowledge to assess our current situation and offered wonderful ideas to the overall design.
