I chose his middle quote and specifically showed him my neighbors' well-done walls for reference. He assured me he could provide a nice, even gray sponge finish to match the front of my house. Instead, he cut corners and delivered completely unacceptable work: Bait-and-Switch on Materials: His quote explicitly included adding metal lathe to the exterior using stainless steel fasteners. On day one of the job, he abruptly changed his mind, claiming he had a "better way to do it." It wasn't better--it was just cheaper for him. Sloppy Application: The mortar was applied unevenly, leaving splotchy colors and completely exposed brick in several areas. Visible Brick Lines: Because he skipped the proper preparation, the brick lines were completely visible right away. He claimed it just needed to "dry," but 6 months later, it still looks terrible. Refused to Complete Repairs: When confronted, he admitted the walls were uneven and claimed painting would fix it. He painted only the back wall, then flat-out refused to paint the two larger dog-leg walls, stating he was "out a ton of money" and "didn't have the funds." Financial Pressure: Halfway through the project, he pressured me into releasing the second payment early, citing his own "cash flow issues." Validation & Extra Costs: I had to pay an additional $4,000 to an independent painting company to finish the dog-leg walls. Even the professional painters pointed out how poorly the mortar was applied, specifically highlighting that it was applied "very thin" at the top of the house. Paying $15,000 for a botched job, cutting corners on the contract, and then shelling out another $4,000 to clean up his mess is a nightmare. Avoid this mason at all costs.

I had multiple estimates for a pressure treated retaining wall, three drain pipes, a low level deck tear down, river rock/flagstone and artificial grass install. From day one, I knew he was going to be the company I went with. He was super professional, came in at a fair price, completed the project quickly with a very professional/knowledgeable staff and has been amazing to work with on the back end. He was so good, I recommended him to my parents for a massive hardscape project and to my homeowners association for some tree work our community needs completed. We had no issues with Jeremy / SSS at all. A lot of companies don't really care about you once the check is cashed and the project is completed, but not Jeremy. Throughout working with Jeremy on my home project, he had found out that my grandfather was very ill (eventually passed away). Approximately two weeks after the project was completed and paid for, Jeremy gave me a ring and left me a voicemail checking in on my family and I to see how we were holding up. Paid $3650 to C A C for 140 sq ft concrete slab. Work initially seemed ok but we were left with a…read morebit of mess which turned into a spot of bother. CAC workers were on time and showed up reliably, which was helpful. The front and back of slab were plumb, no issues - but the left and right sides were not square as measured using the 3-4-5 square method, creating a problem for tile work. The discrepancy was enough to delay tile install by another contractor. It had to be made right or the tile surface would have been uneven and unattractive. When asked to inspect his work product and make it right, the owner Carlos responded that his measurements were perfect and he had made no mistakes. What could have been resolved with action and accuracy instead led us to hire someone we trust (a different yelp-verified business) who squared the slab and lumpy surround expertly. Their work wasn't bad but the part that wasn't good was mishandled with a closed attitude, unpleasant communication and delays. Finally we recovered $300 of the $450 we incurred to fix the surface and get on with tiling. But not without stress or dramatics. C A C Masonry owner used pressure tactics to get me to remove my factual review, and when I sent his text to Yelp Business, they encouraged me to repost. Their message in photos. If you hire them, do it by the book. contract, communication and course-correct as needed on the spot. Pay attention!

I needed some concrete replaced on my front porch and he was able to come take a look and complete the work all within a weeks time. Patching the hole and adding waterproofing cement and then painting the bottom of the porch took two days. I will definitely be using him for other repair jobs in the future.
