The food here is average and overpriced. I don't recommend the thin-crust pizza, it's always burnt to a crisp. They have yummy appetizers and fun drinks, although the drinks are weak. The service is fine and they usually bring out the food in a timely manner. read more

I have a very close friend who was asked by a patron to appear tonight at the restaurant. This performer has been portraying a character who shows up a lot in December. Tonight he appeared by a request from a patron from 7 until 10. His history is playing this character for close to forty two years. In that time he has garnered professional acclaim. As a favor, he came tonight to Rubys. Sadly a manager named Liz, dampened the mood by directing him to stay at the bar rather than play the room. It was peculiar in that patrons at tables were begging him to spend a moment with them. In the many years venues and private parties from Maine to California he has met with nothing but accolades and success. In a fell swipe Liz changed all that. He was told that non Christians were complaining. And yet not one server verified this. I know it seems silly; every single person has a right to their opinion, BUT should one dictate an experience for close to 100? And the manager supported her! My friend has decided to hang up his suit! If that is the terrain to which we've fallen, so be it! Thank you Liz! What could improve? Keep Liz out of the front lines where she cannot kill joy!!! read more

We loved this place when it was Old Chicago. Food and service were always on point despite the crazy pandemic restrictions. We had high hopes after they changed their name that it was only a name change, but the quality of the food and service have been steadily declining. We went back for the final time last weekend. Absolutely awful service and mediocre food. I contacted the restaurant on their website but they didn't bother to reply, so it seems fair to let other fans of the former Old Chicago know that this is not the same restaurant. read more

Great lunch pizza deals and amazing service. The thin crust was really good with lots of cheese and toppings. I also like the Parmesan that's at the table because it has Italian seasonings in it. I'd post a picture of my pizza but I ate it too fast because it was so good! read more

Best service and food I've had in a long time! First off, we walk in and 3 people make sure that we are being helped within 3 minutes of getting there. Jon and Tabor were phenomenal and so kind. The spinach artichoke dip and the Tuscan Pasta were amazing. We'll be back. read more

Not bad! Knarly nachos were good as well as the other entrees in our party but my poor father in law ordered the Sunday pot roast and it was horrible. Hardly any meat and mostly potatoes and very soupy. Even I had a hard time looking at it. If your here for a good Sunday afternoon late lunch I'd definitely come check it out but steer clear of the pot roast. An 8 year could have made something better in 5 minutes. read more

Went for lunch. No iced tea. Terrible, crouton loaded house salad and they forgot to serve my main meal. Crap!!!!

The hostess didn't acknowledge we were even at the front desk and expected us to just follow. The waitress was friendly and made up for the hostess. The menu was sad and very limited. I tried Ruby's for the first time last night. I was very pleased with the level of service and the food. From the time I came through the doors until I left, everyone there was friendly, helpful and very pleasant! I ordered my dinner and then something for lunch today and it was all delightful! It was always a treat, coming to Old Chicago. We were concerned when they dropped the franchise. Many things are the same. Sadly, they no longer have the extensive Happy Hour food specials. There are only 5 items, listed on sale. No drink specials. We always started our visit with the $.25 tasters. Very small, but helped us decide what to order. When you're paying up to $9 for a tall beer, you want to know what it tastes like! They recently discontinued this offer. They also discontinued the club perks. No free pizza for your birthday. No free appetizers, (5th one free). We really enjoyed these things, and it kept us coming back. The service is prompt and friendly. The food is good. But without the tasters, perks, and Happy Hour Specials, we probably won't be visiting as often as we used to. read more

I used to love this place as Old Chicago Pizza. They have withdrawn from the franchise and are now know as Ruby's Pizzaria. Part of the enjoyment of this place is their beer menu and the ability to order tasters so you can decide which beer to order. But when visiting this place tonight we were notified that they have discontinued the tasters. We asked for a sample of a beer we were not familiar with and this request was turned down. How can you order a large beer without sampling it first? The samplers are what set this restaurant apart from others but now they are like many in town. I've eaten at this restaurant multiple times and I've been served by Mckayla, tabor, Cole, Sienna, and jasmyn and they have all been so amazing! All were incredibly kind and efficient. Food was delicious. Can't recommend this restaurant enough! Biggest bar in town too! read more

After the rebranding, it feels like this place just doesn't have its feet under it yet. The hostess seemed brand new. The server was friendly but super slow and inefficient. I asked if we could place our food order when he came to deliver drinks (at about the 20 minute mark) but he just wandered off. They've lost many of the beers on tap, and now the drinks are listed in three different menus. It's hard to negotiate, and when they're out of something you have to start over. We visited it several times as the old brand - it was okay. For some reason it's been a rough transition. I hope they figure it out. read more

We really wanted to like the family owned rebranding of Old Chicago but it wasn't up to what we hoped for. On a Wednesday evening it wasn't that busy but took 45 minutes to get our burgers. My maple burger was overcooked , my daughter's gluten free Mac & cheese was dry. Beer selection was a bit less too. read more

We had a party of four. We arrived at 9:28 on a Saturday evening looking to have a drink and some appetizers to cap off a once in a blue moon night with good friends and a babysitter at home. Although the business closes at 10:00, the door was locked and the server came to the door and told us they were done taking customers for the evening. How does a business turn away paying customers 30 minutes before they close on a Sat night? We will save our future patronage for businesses that want customers and our money. read more

I heard great things about this restaurant and had to check it out for myself. When I arrived, the hostess said they had only been open a week, but it was the same great food, great service and wonderful owners as the previous place. I would have to agree. They recommended to start with some wings and then follow that with the Bear Lakes Steak. Great recommendation, everything came out hot and tasted wonderful.
