Great steakhouse. Service is superb. Aged steaks always bring out the best beef flavor you can imagine

My sister's medium boneless ribeye came out more rare than my medium rare and she finally had to settle for ribs! Which were actually edible. Biggest problem was the cutlery! The serrated steak knives were so dull and bent, you couldn't even cut a tender steak if you got one. If you can't even give your customers a decent knife, don't complain when they send back a steak. I give the manager credit for apologizing and doing what she could but Expats beware. If you're craving a good steak, save your $ and go to Wolfgang's. I understand that things are different here in the PI. I'm amazed that there is so much variety among restaurants. But it is not the fault of the locals when the restaurant company gives them cheap tools and products just to cut costs! Bad cooking is something else, though. A horrible experience at a Mesa restaurant actually made my wife go back in the kitchen and show the chef in training how to make adobo! Overall, I love the PI and the local cuisine. I think I'll stick to the chain restaurants that I know for certain are consistent.

This acclaimed restaurant in SM Mall of Asia is everything that you expect a prime steakhouse would be. The ambience transports you to some log cabin in the middle of the woods where you await your fresh game to cook perfectly in the open fire. This is how I feel whenever I visit this place. Surprisingly, though, my wife's favorite item in this steakhouse is the Baked Scallops. They use jumbo sea scallops that look like medallions and not the smaller bay scallops that are abundant locally. Highlands Prime Steakhouse is among the few restaurants outside of 5-star hotels that know how to cook steak. When you order medium, you get medium cooked meat and not well-done. In our last visit, I tried their lamb chops and they were tasty and tender. The only drawback to this place is, of course, their price. Menu items are expensive.

We weren't even provided napkins until we asked halfway through our meal. Best part of the meal was the free bread as it was warm and fresh. Not worth the price and will not go back.

They are relatively cheaper than what you'd find in fancy places that offer this traditional American fare. A serving of local steak can go for as low as P300. They offer different cuts like tenderloin, ribeye or porterhouse. These are available into two portions: Hungry (around 5 or 6 oz and Starving, 10 oz). The US Peppercorn Steak is a 6oz US Flat Iron steak crusted with freshly ground pepper - if you want to be adventurous with your steak choice, this is the one for you. If you don't feel like eating steak during your visit, try their other favorites: Rib Eye Roast Beef and Pork Chops (my favorite non-steak dish) or any of their burgers. The servings are huge and are actually good for two people. I love their appetizers and often visit the place just for that. Order their potato skins and chicken tenders if you want a light meal of just the appetizers. You can also have your fill of their large portions of salads like the Chicken Caesar (available as a solo order or for sharing) or the Oriental Salad. Whatever you order from Tender Bob's, you will really get your money's worth and have a satisfying meal.

I can't even say how swanky this place is -- it absolutely reeks of class from the dim and sexy lighting to the wine bottles on full display to the fine dining table setting. The place smelled and tasted of luxury, bringing joy to all of my senses. My friends and I were presented with set menus to choose from -- we could either have fish or steak and being that Strip is a steakhouse, everyone went with steak. The set menu also offers the option of starting with either soup or salad, so we decided to order two soups and two salads so that everyone could have a taste of everything. We certainly weren't disappointed. The steak was pure, mouth-melting, tender and prime in every sense of the word. What a world class experience. Dessert was superb as well. As is standard with fine dining establishments, the staff waits on you hand and foot. Nice job, Solaire. I would be more than happy to come back.
