The owner is a friendly Scottish lady who gave us great recommendations and even had us in tears laughing when one in our party couldn't take the clue they had ran out of tater tot's for the day. The food all came hot and fresh! I'm a basic guy and opted for the bacon and eggs. I really enjoyed my meal and the overall ambience of this small town diner. They have fresh brewed iced tea as well. We will for sure be back when visiting the area for her humor and the amazing food.

Ludington Brewing Company was such a great stop! They had a HUGE selection of beers on tap, and…read morethey were all so good. I had the Hazy and my husband had a West Coast IPA, and both were fabulous. My Hazy was honestly one of the top hazy beers I've had. The menu looked amazing too, and we had such a hard time deciding what to order. Everything coming out of the kitchen looked so good that we actually wished we had more time in Ludington because we would have come back here for dinner again! My husband ordered the Hog Father Burger with fries, and WOW. The burger was absolutely mouthwatering, especially with the pork belly, and I couldn't stop stealing bites from him. The fries were incredibly crunchy and delicious, and the burger was so filling that he couldn't even finish it. I ordered the shrimp tacos, which came out somewhat deconstructed, and I actually thought that was fun. The shrimp was served over rice with pickled red onions, and it came with salsa, guacamole, sour cream, and Mexican cheese on the side so you could build them however you wanted. Everything was delicious, but those pickled red onions were especially good! We sat out on the patio, which was a really nice area. The inside was also large and everything was very clean. The only slightly odd part of our visit was our waitress. I'm going to give her some grace because maybe she was just having a bad day, but there were a couple of interactions that felt a little strange, including when we first walked in and the way she spoke to a few people as they were being seated. That said, she was efficient, and I'll take a peculiar waitress who gets the job done over slow service any day! Overall, this was absolutely a 5-star brewery experience. Great beer, fantastic food, a nice patio, a clean and spacious atmosphere, and a menu we wished we had more time to explore. We would definitely come back!

The crust reminded me of my college days of getting a few Tony's pizzas, the old 3 for $5 deal. Just not a place I would recommend a pizza. Hopefully someone from the restaurant reads this. Pizza is about the easiest item that can be great. It's starts with the crust, then the sauce, the other ingredients are a given. If you serve pizza make sure it's the best pizza in the area. I saw a lot of pizzas coming out of the kitchen, and I got to my slice number 2, and I was just not excited to eat it. It reminded me of a frozen pizza which I will not eat. It's a casual restaurant at a golf course, with sandwiches, pizza, and other snacks, plus a full bar. I ordered the buffalo chicken wrap, and Nate got the chicken bacon ranch sub with tater tots. There is some inside seating, but we opted for one of the big tents outside overlooking the golf course. We saw a huge snapping turtle as we waited for our food and got to watch people tee off. The food was quite good and really hit the spot. My wrap was flavorful and the chicken was tender. Nate's sub was toasty and cheesy. The tots were just okay, but that was the only minor negative of the meal. The employees working were super friendly. I'm glad we found this spot!

But The Alley Bar & Grill was Perfect for what we look for in small town places that don't have bells and whistles but everything else that matters. Great staff interacting with the customers, serving great food and drinks with a welcoming atmosphere. Our server, Sondra, and her fellow "chef" were working hard in the kitchen making the tastiest looking pizzas. It was a challenge to choose our food because we were really hungry. The menu is smaller but everything on it is high quality eats. I had cheese curds and tried the Pollock filet, crinkle cut fries and slaw; my friend had wings with buffalo sauce and the French dip, steak fries and slaw. I asked for another option for dipping and their cocktail sauce with the curds was a great combo. Although the ranch dressing tasted homemade. I'd never had Pollock before and I enjoyed it with malt Vinegar, generous portion lightly breaded and I almost finished before finding a few bones in the meatier part. I know it's expected but I have a quirk when I find a fish bone, I'm done. My friend's French Dip had a generous amount of meat, on a soft hoagie type roll and was "so delicious". This place had just about everything fun to do inside: beer pong, pool, darts, fooseball s as nd even a room/ stage in the back for live entertainment! We had the jukebox this evening, playing good classic rock and when it stopped my friend was going to fill it up with coins and keep it going. But we overheard Sondra encouraging a guy to, "Pick as many as you want to because it's free." Prices were $$ for the quality and portions of food, clean inside and atmosphere. We parked in the street and walked about 300 ft to the door, which has 2 steps to enter. I highly recommend that you go find out what's happening in The Alley, I bet you'll have a great time!
