This was my first time eating at a Rubio's, so I wasn't sure what to expect. I let the cashier know it was my first time and he was super helpful and patient! I've been looking for a place that was similar to Chipotles, and i think i have found it! This place was empty but very clean inside. I tried the nexican Street Bowl with chicken and steak. I've been to this Rubio's location at least a dozen times since moving to Palmdale and it's always very consistent. There was one event where the meat on my nachos was over cooked but the chain rectified the meal by providing a gift card for future use. I love the fish tacos here! They are bigger than your average fish taco and they always taste fresh! They seem to be made to order because they are always perfectly crispy. Big fan of their lunch deals and their taco Tuesday menu. You can really get your money's worth coming for dinner here on Tuesdays. Their burritos are big as well and the steak tacos are a great option too. The salsa bar is always stocked and kept clean. You have to try their green salsa on the fish tacos and the chipotle salsa is perfect on the steak. Service is always pretty good too - I give them props for their quick service. I've never had an unpleasant experience... everyone is alway very kind and helpful. I recommend downloading their app so you can build points and get exclusive offers. Definitely recommend this Rubios location especially on a Tuesday!! read more

Very clean for the most part it's pretty nice atmosphere, my only complaint is the food wasn't the best and the price was still expensive even though I came on taco Tuesday, not going to lie the tacos are big but if you go don't get the steak next time I go I'll try some of their other meats to see if they are any better, the service is okay they were nice and the food only took a few minutes to get to us so overall the service was decent as expected from a franchise standpoint. read more

Went in with my family and the gentleman helping us was non engaged with us and looked like he hates his job and wanted us to hurry... then they gave us our order as we dined in and I bit into a solid piece of avocado seed and hurt my tooth!! Then I told the lady picking up tables about it and she took the piece of seed and then here comes the same guy from cash register and took my bowl as if I was lying or would have continued eating from it oh and btw his name is ADAM! The service is the absolute worst, they give the meanest attitude when you take to long to figure out what you want, and when you finally figure it out and they bring the food out, they still find a way to get it wrong. The one who had the worst attitude was Gabby, she had no smile on her face, like she wasn't even happy to be there! There is also bugs crawling on the walls, food was whatever nothing special, but service is in the negatives. read more

I just had a perfect fish taco especial at Rubio's. My taco arrived at my table promptly and was beautifully presented in its paper tray. I probably should have taken a picture to show you all, but all I could think of was biting into it. It was so fresh and so good. Granted it's Taco Tuesday and the Fish Taco Especial is only $2.29 which always helps. I strongly recommend eating in the restaurant, that way the fish is still hot and the veggies are cold. Otherwise, the temperatures of the contrasting ingredients "blend" on the ride home. I strongly prefer this style of beach-mex food to be right out of the kitchen. Rubio's has a clean and comfortable dining area. It is always a welcoming and cheerful place to sit down and eat so there is no need to be shy. read more

I went in for lunch. The manager who was also doing the register was taking my order. I get that she was busy, but the customer service was poor. She barely had time for me, and did not want to answer my questions about the menu. She hurried me through the process and did not concern herself with the poor service given. I wrote a review on the Rubios website, and the same manager who had waited on me responded. She did not respond to the concerns with service or the way she dismissed me.. she simply wrote that she was sorry I didn't like the service. There was not responsibility or concern for my experience. If this is the kind of place the Rubios in Palmdale is going to be like, I will not be back. The food was ok.. and ambiance was fine, a little messy, but not significant. I just expected better service, especially from one of the managers. read more

The service was great and the food was good but very disappointing especially for its price. I bought a $14 burrito, i expected it to be a decent size but it was very small and skinny, there was only a little meat in half the burrito the other half had nothing. I would atleast expect meat in the full burrito if im going to be paying so much. Burritos at chipotle have more filling and are around the same price if not less. read more

Ordered a bean and cheese burrito but when I got it, it was loaded with salsa. I went back up to ask if they could replace it but they said I needed to buy a new one. My group and I got food here. The rest got there food, and I was told that mine was still being made. Turns out they had misplaced my order and I didn't get my food until everyone else finished there's. I politely told the manager about the issue, and she talked to her crew, gave me a to go plate and then gave me a $10 complimentary meal ticket. We all make mistakes but the way they responded to it was very professional, and was a reminder to me that you don't have to make a lot of noise and be rude in order for a business to mend the issue. Went three days ago. Got the shrimp trio tacos. Avocados were rock hard. Some shrimp were cooked more than others and the tortillas were not cooked al the way thru. The pinto beans were cold. I'm full right now so all I want to do is sleep but I'll struggle type. I enjoyed my dinner. I got a shrimp bowl and added corn, mandarin oranges, and a bunch of other veggies. The salsas were hot and spicy. The beau ordered nachos. The bro in law ordered a burrito. We got a side of beans which were so full of flavor and a great value (size to price). I've loved Rubio's since all the visits to see my family in San Diego. Luckily this place is right off the highway. I had the new shrimp taco with fresh mango salsa and the original fish taco plus chips and beans. The beans are pretty plain, but throw your choice of salsa in them and they'll pop! Food was hot and fresh. The reason I bumped this place up to 4 stars is because it was super clean and the people were very nice. read more

I ordered the chicken and fries for my son... he literally got only 10 french fries! yes, I counted them. that's so sad! his meal alone was almost $8. and he got only 4 chicken pieces. I ordered the Mexican shrimp bowl and got 8 pieces of shrimp. and it cost me over $12. my fiancé got the burrito with chips and they didn't even give him the chips! we had to go back to ask for them. they skimp on their food portions! So incredibly annoyed. My husband and I ordered dinner from Rubios via Door Dash because of COVID. My husband is immuno-compromised and it is not safe for either of us to leave the house. Our dasher was a JOY and was super patient. Apparently Rubios was taking orders for people walking into the store before the Door Dash order. Our order was continually pushed to the bottom of the list. Our dasher, and us, were waiting for 2 hours to get our food. We love Rubios, but holy cow, we are EXTREMELY disappointed with this level of service. read more

Most local fish markets don't even carry trout in the Antelope Valley; however, when I called the shop earlier, the person who answered said that they had some in stock, and I was quite surprised. When I walked in, it seemed like there was a lot of foot traffic coming in and out, and the owner, who calls himself 'Fish,' was giving out free samples of deep-fried octopus with hot sauce. Quite tasty actually. He was really nice and personable. He was able to give me some trout and also another fish called 'whitey' or 'whiting,' which he cut into fillets for me to take home. The prices were reasonable, too. They have a big menu with lots of options where you can order any fish and they'll fry it for there for you. He then offered to give me the head, spine and tail of the trout for free- to give to my cat. I thought that gesture was really sweet of him. My little girl was quite satisfied when I brought it back home to her. Thanks, Fish! I'll be back.

It comes with Beef & Chicken Empanadas, Papas Rellenas, Platanos Fritos and Yuca Frita all served with Rico Sauce, which is so great. All of their empanadas are great and you can get just one or a bunch. We often get some to take home. The Papas Rellenas is so good and so nicely priced. It is two mashed potato balls stuffed with Cuban picadillo, then breaded and fried to perfection. I love potatoes so I love to get this. We also take these home. They heat up so well. The service is great and they are very friendly. Parking is easy and there is not usually a wait. I am not sure if they take reservations, so call them and check. The place is comfortable and pretty.

Rolling Crab offers a variety of flavors: Rolling Crab Classic, Louisiana Cajun, Lemon Pepper, and Garlic Butter. Bibs and gloves are available, and you can choose the lobster tails mild, medium, or super spicy, or go for the original. They come in buckets. The Combo Grilled Platters were generous portions, though we wished for more shrimp. The flavor was excellent, though. The restaurant was clean and cozy, with a small space that could easily accommodate a large group. We didn't feel rushed at all, even though it wasn't packed. More concerning, however, was a serious issue regarding safety and how my family--particularly my child--was treated by staff. During our visit, my toddler was standing next to her high chair when employees were running through the restaurant. One employee fell and immediately blamed my child for the incident. I was present and witnessed the situation clearly. My child was approximately four feet away and was not involved in any way. The employee tripped on her own, yet responsibility was placed on my child. If the placement of a high chair in that area posed a concern, it should not have been offered or placed there to begin with. At no point did any staff member, including the manager, ask if my child was okay (especially since they thought she was tripped over) Instead, blame was directed towards my toddler, which made me feel unwelcome and judged for simply dining with a baby. Also if she really was tripped over- they did not care about her at all. This shows: THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT THE SAFETY OF THEIR GUESTS. A server came up to us and expressed how she was the blame despite not seeing what had happened. These employees are running up and down. That is why she tripped. This is my my toddler (thankfully) was not harmed. I hope the waitress is okay though, clearly this company does not care about safety much- as she kept working after. We spent over $150 during this visit, and the overall experience left me feeling that this establishment is not family-friendly. This is particularly disappointing, as families should feel safe and respected while dining. Due to this experience, we will not be returning, and I will be sharing this feedback with all friends and family. I hope this matter is taken seriously and addressed appropriately to prevent similar situations in the future. Maybe a training on where to put high chairs, how not to run in an establishment, and how to speak with respect towards others would be a good start.
