Food very good. Restaurant is freezing inside every time we go. Definitely needs an adjustment. Gentlemen taking the order seemed to be quite not there. Did not listen when we placed our order. Also would suggest that the employment staff at least wears a shirt or something showing that they are employed at the restaurant instead of a blue faded T-shirt. My experience at Rubio's was frustrating enough to speak up. First off, the food was a letdown. The fish tacos were soggy, bland and barely warm.I've had better from a gas station. The salsa bar looked picked over and neglected, and portions were noticeably smaller than usual. But what really pushed this visit into 'never again' territory was the manager. When I politely asked about my order being incorrect, I was met with eyes rolls and dismissive attitude. No apology, no effort to fix it- just condensation.It felt like I was inconveniencing them by simply expecting decent service. Rubios used to be a go to spot for fresh coastal flavors, but this location clearly doesn't care about quality or customer experience. It's been 7 years since I've stepped foot in a Rubio's Coastal Grill. And now this place is easily going to be one of my favorite places to eat. This is solely because of the IMPOSSIBLE MEAT on the menu. You can substitute anything with impossible meat. If you want a burrito, tacos, nachos, or a salad. You can substitute impossible meat on ANY of them. The possibilities are endless. How freakin amazing is that!!!! Like no places offer that type of flexibility. This is going to be my new addiction. The service is good, nothing to complain. There are usually no lines so I get my food rather quickly. The salad and condiments bar is plentiful forma a small establishment and the choices are good. I like the chipotle sauce to my burritos. I usually get shrimp or carne asada burrito. They could have more meat as there ar not much shrimp in it. Kinda feels like endless rice. It's conveniently located to my office so it's a decent choice for quick bite. Ambiance is just of a regular fast food joint, nothing to brag about. Recommended to try. read more

I came here for a quick bite because I remembered loving their original fish tacos when I was younger. I was craving fish tacos, so decided to stop by. Here is what I ordered: Original Fish Taco Plate: The fish was TINY! The whole "fish" was actually just batter... This was super disappointing and I ended up throwing away half the plate. The beans were decent and the citrus rice was plain. I was super upset about this experience. I was really looking forward to their high quality products, but did not receive that. I am not sure if it was this location or the time that I came, but I will not be returning. The plate came out to be $11.41 after tax. We decided on a whim to get a mango avocado salad. My son got the one with Shrimp and I added Impossible meat to mine. I was positively surprised by it. The cook got my order wrong twice and had to make it over a total of 3 times. This location of Rubios can get a little crowded with parking since it's located with many different stores in one building and it's a tight squeeze to go in and out of the parking lot but parking isn't too bad. The food have always been good to me and I love how you can choose your choice of meat with a ton of their menu items from beef to impossible meat they have it all and you can customize your order just the way you like. I love their shrimp tacos and there street corn bowls. I do also like their keto friendly tacos which you can substitute the meat with impossible meat so my vegetarian friends you should try that one out. I do want to come back and try many more of their food.They also have yummy salsa and sauce to go with your food to give it that extra oomph. read more

Came in to pick up dinner on a Friday night. I ordered the loaded nachos with chicken which has been one of my favorite menu item before. The price went up since Covid which was fine but the quality has gone down. The chips were stale, the cheese was stuck to the paper on the container so I couldn't even eat it, there was barely any chicken, the food was cold. It was so bad I couldn't even eat it. I wasted $10 and am so disappointed in the service at this restaurant. The food use to be so fresh and high quality but it has gone downhill. I come to Rubio's maybe once every couple of months. I used to really like this place, both the food and the staff. It's really gone downhill. I remember the manager was very friendly and would go over the take out order to make sure it was right. He actually opened every tray and displayed the quality too--I loved that. He was very friendly and always asking if there was anything else I needed. At that time the food also didn't disappoint. I picked up my app to go order Friday and I can tell they are so short staffed and running around trying to get to orders and the line of like three people I could tell have been there a few minutes already. They handed my food quickly and moved on. I wouldn't say unfriendly but not like it used to be. Once I got home the food was disappointing too. The fish tacos hardly had any cabbage, no dressing, cold, skimpy. My shrimp bowl was salty and I don't mind a little salty but this was just too much. I think there were maybe 4 tiny shrimp in there. Overall I've seen the decline in this place from the staff to the food. I don't think I'll be returning. It's not like this place is cheap so I do expect better interactions and better food. read more

Stopped in here for a quick bite to eat before heading back to OC. I was craving something fresh & got their Cilantro Lime Quinoa Bowl with shrimp, but instead of quinoa I asked for their cilantro lime rice. They were able to sub it. It also contains romaine lettuce, topped with cauliflower, poblanos, red bell peppers, fire-roasted corn, and red onion, fresh sliced Hass avocados, black beans, cilantro lime mojo sauce, and toasted almonds. The order came out in a good amount of time, and while I was waiting they were giving out brownie samples! My order was amazing, there was a decent amount of shrimp and it was super tasty. It was the perfect size & they didn't fluff it up with putting a ton of rice in there which was great. I love their shrimp & fish tacos are bomb AF here too! read more

I will NEVER get tired of Rubio's, especially this specific location and the Norco one! The food always comes out delicious and with little wait time. Most of the time I order takeout and I'll literally be placing my order down the street and by the time I get to the restaurant, it's already ready. Literally within less than 10 mins. Prices are always reasonable too, especially if you have the app. A fantastic place to get healthy, "fast food" at a reasonable price. The California Bowls are my go-to! I love Rubio's and this is one is a great location, making it an easy stop while out shopping in the area. The store is clean and well kept, staff nice. I am obsessed with their balsamic veggie salad add salmon, get it every time. My only real gripe is that the portions are tiny. I would eat here much more often, but coming with a 12 year old kid and a husband who loves meat and lots of it, I don't get to as much as I would like. The kids meal is tiny, the tacos and burritos are, my the flavors are always great, we usually go for lunch when you don't want to walk around too full for the rest of the day anyways. I just start going to rubios as an alternative for healthy options for fast food during the pandemic. The blackened fish tacos, flour cheese enchiladas, quesadillas, and there bowls are pretty good. I always order for pick up which is fast and smooth. The only small complaint I have is that I tend to order the salad which counts as 2 sides with an entree. Every time I get the salad it usually small and wilted. It may be wilted due to it being next to my hot food, but its always wilted. A suggestion woukd be to put the salad in a separate container to keep it fresh. And a little more lettuce would be nice...Also every time I order the cheese enchiladas with no white sauce, they always have white sauce. I usually dont say anything because I'm trying to get in and out but paying attention to detail is key! read more

Slowest Rubio's on the planet. Many times this place messes up our order. One time it was so messed up I had to drive back here to get it fixed. Was like half the stuff was wrong. The manager gave me cards for free tacos and chips/guacamole. Then today after 3 months we tried it again and it was super slow and took 30 mins to get our food. Yea I get there are tons of DoorDash and Uber eats orders which are timed and need to be completed before the driver arrives but man it was insane. read more

This location has noticeably great customer service. Everyone working was very pleasant, especially the manager on duty who brought our food out to the table. She was visibly working hard, bouncing around from the kitchen, to wiping tables, to wiping the salsa bar, to bringing food out. She was very friendly and asked of we were chilly, then went and adjusted the air conditioner. The food we ordered was awesome too! I love Rubio's. Food is good. But customer service is LACKING. If I put in an order for curbside pickup why does no one answer the phone when I get there. The whole point of curbside is that I don't have to get down. After trying to call 4 times I had to get down with my child, something I was trying to avoid doing in the first place.
