This is the only groomer we have ever taken our dogs to, where the dogs aren't scared to go in! They almost seem to know that they will be pampered, given a proper haircut, nail trim, and bath ... by people who genuinely like animals. (They're not fond of the free bandanas, but my wife and I think they're cute.) None of the tug of war fights we had to endure to get the dogs into the groomers' shops when we lived in California! Something is wonderful here ... reasonably priced, personable staff, plenty of parking in the lot. Try 'em!! read more

Finally I have found a place that cuts my dogs how I want them! First time coming in today with my Pomeranian and Morkie, they said it would be 4 hours and only took two. The owner came out and personally talked to me about what length and even had a board with examples of different lengths. She also asks my many questions about what I would like for them. My boyfriend picked them up for me and said they had the dogs out front playing with them not, locked up on a cage. Plus it was 50 cheaper then the last place we went to that always cut them way too short. Definitely recommend this place to anyone! read more

We've been taking our dog here for the last three years and are always pleased with his visit. We have a golden, so their hair can get matted and grimy feeling. It is awesome when he comes back smelling fresh and with soft fur. The last visit I got in right away. I dropped him off at 9am and he was ready by 2pm. I'm not sure, but I don't think they crate the dogs there while they're waiting. I guess that could be good or bad depending the way you look at it. I like that idea for one reason and that is because our Golden is such a people dog. He doesn't like to be caged and requires a lot of human and canine contact. Other places we have taken him has gotten him so stressed out that he comes home and sleeps the rest of the time and that is saying a lot for a Golden. They just moved across 141 and I know this isn't a restaurant or any place that atmosphere matters, but geesh, they need to get some color in there. The place is blindingly white, walls, floor and ceiling. At least put some Air Supply posters up or something to break up the sterile white. And because I stay sterile doesn't mean clean, I mean it is a groomer with hundreds of dogs coming in there, but the white walls are already starting to look rough. Anyway, I don't plan on going anywhere else to groom my dog and would recommend this to anyone. read more

I am not happy with my first experience at Rub A Dub doggie. I took my 2 Goldens there today for a 9 AM drop off. I spoke with John, who while trying to discuss what I was looking for said "I don't know what a Show Dog looks like" when I was talking about what I want their legs to look like. When I picked them up at 4PM, they still were not done. They brought out Toby(2 yr old) whose hind quarters were cut straight off.He said they had no choice, they were matted(not true) I asked him to blend it in a little, and he took Toby back. Looking at Kooper(age 8) his ears were not cleaned and not trimmed at all. His response was "I thinned them out. I asked for him to make it even and actually trim them as I know he did not. I again looked at Toby and realized that his private area was not trimmed as we had discussed. and I asked if Koopers was ? They did Koopers then. Then when he came back out, he said in a snotty way, do you want me to bring Toby back and do his private area? I said yes ! He tugged on Toby's leash, and Toby wouldn't go. so he picked him up and carried him!. When he brought Toby out, his hind quarters and private area were absolutely butchered. The dogs smelled great, and overall their coats looked great...BUT I could not wait to get away from there. The dogs were panting and thirsty, as they let them all run around all day. A year and a half ago, I took my 11 year old borzoi to this establishment for a shave. When I took my dog in, I was told that the dog would be done in a couple of hours. When I called in, in the afternoon, I was told that she would be done in a few hours. When I arrived to pick her up, she was unable to walk due to having been over stressed. It took three of us to get her into my car and on getting home, I had to obtain help to get her into the house as she could still not walk. After getting her into the house, she drank a huge amount of water and was able to walk again within about an hour. Apparently she was suffering from gross dehydration. I realize that she is an old dog, but after she recovered, during the next year and a half, she has not had any issues of this kind again. If she was having these problems, I should of have been called and notified of the problem and I was not. Today, a very good friend of mine brought their year old dog in for grooming and when they went to pick her up were told that she had died - stated that when they put her on the grooming table, suddenly she had started foaming at the mouth and they took her to the vet across the street where she was apparently dead on arrival. They only showed concern about their business, had no apparent remorse about what had happened and very quickly offered to pay for expenses as if they wanted the whole issue to go away. The dog was to a vet two weeks ago and apparently had no major issues. Apparently something happened that they were not willing to disclose. I had warned my friend not to take his dog there but it was over a year previously and apparently he forgot my advise. I apparently have no option other than giving a one star review which I believe is too high. read more

I've been taking my dog here for a while with no complaints about my dog or his "aggression". I've always been told by Jessica that my dog is so easy to work with and wonderful. Today I took my dog in to get his toenails trimmed and there was an awful girl working named Chelsea. She was choking my dog with his leash from the moment she took him behind the counter. Jessica cut his nails as usual and put him down (but he's so aggressive ) around another dog. My dog was scared and trying to get away from Chelsea and Chelsea continued to choke him instead of just getting him away from the other dog. When I confronted Jessica about Chelseas behavior she told me my dog was aggressive and how she has all these notes on his aggression. Now she has notes on my dog? Why haven't I been told of this? My dog has literally never been aggressive in his 9 years of life to anyone. Multiple of my family members bring their dog here and I'll be sure to make sure they don't. As a side note, I couldn't tell you the last time the asked for updated shots. Which is just scary since I've been coming here for 3 years. read more

Took our miniature golden doodle for the first time. They did a beautiful job! Exactly as asked! Her coat is even and not choppy for the first time. We will definitely take her there again! They were pleasant and friendly, as well. read more

Took my dog there and they told me he was done. I can pay over phone and I told them okay. The girl told me 41 and I told her why as always 31 or 36?! She told me he is 41 today, so I told her whatever. The girl asked me if I wanted to tip? I told her NO! I paid the services and on my way to get my dog. Then they called me back stating that I owe more money due to my small dog having fleas as be 18 dollars. My dog has never had fleas and always updated on every vaccinations or anything else. They told me he was all matted up, which is a lie! I did a bath for him the night before. I know a Maltese can get matted as not stupid, but he wasn't as I brushed him. They have no degrees like most places want there employees to have and they don't update there files for customers. The owner told me they only do one paper when they first come to the groomer place. They never called and asked me if he had a flea bath or if the shampoo I used comes with a flea treatment in it. They never ask if my dog had any medications or anything. They let dogs run around in the center and not let them be crated. This place is a joke and they rip people off. They will post all negative comments and pictures of your dog on the FB reviews. The owner doesn't care and doesn't care about her clients. This place needs to be shut down! They kept my dog hair from Saturday and post it on Monday after a Saturday commit I posted about this place. They are such a rip off business and reported them! Why would you save a dog hair from Saturday that has fleas and take a picture of it. I know my dog didn't have fleas! read more

We have been taking our now senior golden retriever here for years. The price is reasonable, he comes out looking like a young pup after his summer shave and they are super sweet to him as they are mindful of his bad hips. They can usually get you in within a few days or sooner (like the day he rolled in deer urine). He really enjoys coming here and interacting with the staff and the other dogs-it's like doggie daycare and he gets groomed! We have recommended them to several friends; most recently a Great Pyrenees came in for a summer shave and our friends were thrilled with the end result and price! read more

Just had our first visit to Rub-A-Dub Doggie today. I took our Australian Shepard/Border Collie mix in for a grooming. He was pretty shaggy and needed some good TLC. When I picked him up I thought I was getting a different dog. He looked quite handsome! I am very pleased and will continue to use their services. Very friendly staff makes you feel welcome. The cost is very reasonable!! I highly recommend them! read more

They have gone way down hill since the previous reviews. This groomer cut or tore my labradoodle's ears. The vet confirmed the injuries were not hematomas and were caused by grooming tools. When we brought this to the owner's attention he pulled out a waiver signed when we dropped our dog off. He said the dog was "severely matted". Not matted enough for the groomer to mention when we picked the dog up but matted enough to dodge a vet bill. He is using his waiver as a sword, not a shield and my dog is the one doing the bleeding. We won't be back and you should not risk taking your dog here. read more
