I have used Off the Leash for years for my dogs and they are still delivering personal, kind and pet-loving services. My dogs have never looked better or had healthier coats and skin--best groomers I have ever used.

    After Toby's grooming.

I took my mini-schnauzer mix for the first time. I have to admit that I was a bit anxious about taking him (terriers are notoriously difficult with grooming) to a new place, but Samantha welcomed him in and he was only slightly nervous. I came back in about three hours and my little guy was happy and well-groomed. I did not notice any shampoo smells or perfumes, which some folks like. Heavy scents are not really good for dogs, so the staff gets it. Great job, Samantha!

I will start with - I have never given a review. Never yelped before - did not have the app. Downloaded it just to give Off The Lease DG the props they deserve. Gave my bernedoodle - Mack - the best haircut he has ever received. Top notch. I've been all around and nothing comes close. (Note: haven't been to Treats Unleashed) Way CHEAPER than any other spots (for you penny pinchers). 60$ cheaper than PetsDumb - as Mack calls it. (Cool it Mack! You're 3/4 poodle!!!!.) Pictures worth a thousand words as they said in the old days. What did they say before that? A drawing is worth 400 and a knuckle that throbs when rain is coming? Bernie 'Mack' Doodle says "Real recognizes Real" 15/10 would recommend.

His back and tail look so good! They did a great job.

I will start by saying that I own a very eccentric (and large) 4 year old husky mix, and he is like my child. He means the world to me, and keeping him in good health and clean is important to me. Because of his extreme shedding, we get him groomed every 4-6 weeks professionally. Up until recently, we were loyal to the same big brand salon. After a $30 price increase and a rapid decrease in quality of work as well as employees we decided it was time to start looking for someone new. We are relatively new to the area so we don't have many people to ask for suggestions, and I wanted to make sure I found some where clean, with quality work and good people. I reached out on social media to locals for recommendations and was sent the way of Off The Leash - I am grateful! We just picked up my boy from his first appointment about an hour ago and we are extremely pleased with their work. Originally, I reached out to OTL through their Facebook page, and they were the only salon who were kind enough to respond to my DM. They answered all of my questions, quoted me pricing, and even booked me an appointment for the next day through messaging which I thought was so convenient and fantastic for people like me who maybe don't have access to phone calls during work hours. We dropped off this morning during their drop off time, between 8am-9am, and were greeted quickly. The storefront is in a strip off of Manchester Rd, with only a couple girls working in the morning I really appreciated the honest small business vibes I got from the establishment. Around 2pm, they called us to let us know that he was ready to be picked up. They take cash or check only. When we got there they knew who we were there for and had him dry and ready to go for us. We paid quickly (they are CONSIDERABLY cheaper than my pervious Grooming salon - thank you!!!), leashes him up and we were out the door. No wait, quick, easy, friendly! I know he wasn't easy to bathe since he's so large and doesn't like the tub, but the still remained friendly and professional. I'm normally very proud of how I keep and take care of my dog but this time around was not the same. It had been 7 weeks since he had been bathed and professionally brushed with only minor at home brushing in between (that means nothing when you have a husky FYI). You could run your hand down his back and have fluff on your hand. You could pull tufts of fluff out of his back..he needed it so desperately but I couldn't find a salon I trusted to take him. Off The Leash Grooming really did do a fantastic job. He does not have an easy coat to groom, nor is he an easy DOG to groom. His tail and butt cheeks were fluffy, his back and sides were clean and even. His chest was soft and white, his legs were smooth, free from the tufts and very little to no free flying fluff. They clipped his nails, including his duclaw (something the old salon always forgot), ears, paw pads, and glands. He also got a precious collar cover to match. To finish up this 100 page book, I am happy. He looks good, prices are good, staff is good, location is good. I love that they are a smaller business, and I'll be back in 4-6 weeks!

Always accommodating. Full wash dry and brush at fair price. Quick fix of one thing or another without hesitation.

All our dogs love to get their haircut here, and our last dog who passed away would always start howling when we even MENTIONED the word "Judy".

The first time we thought they did a good job. However our girl is very old and she came home with…read moresome diarrhea and seemed a little stressed but we didn't think much of it because a grooming experience is kind of a lot for a 15 year old dog, and it takes time to get used to any new groomer. The second time our appointment was right at opening time and they were nearly 15 minutes late showing up to even open the doors. (Totally unprofessional but I tried to be understanding as I was told their child was sick.) The main problem came when we got her back she was absolutely trembling, and she had diarrhea again as soon as she got home, where it also became apparent that they had done a rather shoddy job with the "sanitary" part of her comfort cut, also neglecting to trim her nails. It honestly looked like all they did was fluff and trim her ears and face and put one of those bows on her. The next day her rear end looked so incredibly red and uncomfortable that I took her to the vet immediately, who said her anal glands hadn't been expressed in quite some time... She implied that perhaps it had been attempted, but wasn't done properly and was causing our dog a lot of discomfort. Anal gland expressing and nail trims should be a standard part of any groom. This place simply didnt do the job they were paid to do, twice, and we also suspect they are kind of rough with the animals as our girl hasn't shaken after a groom since we changed groomer. Edit: The owner asked me to remove this review because it is "unfair" and I suspect they do the same with all their less than favorable reviews as their only reviews besides mine are very old. They also claimed that they do not, and have never expressed anal glands, yet the service is listed on their website as included in a standard groom. So I assure you (owner as well as fellow yelpers) this is my honest review and experience and I am not trying to ruin anybody, simply warn other people that we did not get anywhere near the level of service we paid for at this establishment, and our poor dog suffered for it.

The second time my dog was groomed for $125.99 And I tipped around $25.00. I received a text asking for a review. Well my dog. Was hacked like a custom cuts hack. And for this money, you'd expect a rockstar Grooming. I know it's only a dog, but he was literally hacked and it took a month to grow out again. Then I took him to Lola And Ponelopies today. He now looks like a male dog model. I hardly recognized him when he came out because he looked like a pure border terrier like you'd see on a puppy brochure. When I had him groomed with four, Pretty Paws, I was asked to give them a review. I did and the owner called me and literally argued with me about my review and was extremely derogatory. I hung up and he actually called back to argue again and I didn't answer. This is why I decided to write this review if you're interested in for Pretty Paws for three times the cost of good luck. It's a waste of money for a hack Haircut for your beautiful dog or cat or squirrel or rat. The best to share with you a $50 Grooming versus $125 Grooming and a much better quality for $50 at Lola And Ponelopies in Clayton or in town and country. I was hesitant to share the secret with you because it's tough to get an appointment there. If you want to get lazy and do for Pretty Paws go for it but expect a heck job. oh legally, this is only my opinion.
