This is nothing but damage control by the owner. I've lived in my house now for years and have…read morenever had a single flea. I've never had to purchase flea shampoo, collars, sprays and whatever else to combat the pest. Quarantine? Our pups were in the separate kennel with no other pups in with them as the kennel was not full. So they were being kept away from others. So how did they get the fleas? I wasn't there. Clearly. Did they commingle my Yorkie with other dogs? Most likely. He was the one with the highest infestation. And in the same run with his terrier sister. They were needing the most treatment. And it didn't take long to figure it out. Once we got home we quickly learned that we had a problem. We have never had a SINGLE FLEA in our house and once you notice one you very quickly learn that there are others. Our pups have never been out in public other than to the occasional veterinary appointment. So after dealing with the infestation for more than two weeks of this gross negligence on the part of Bark Central, I posted on Yelp to help someone else avoid this same catastrophe. Because that's what it is when you're bathing, washing, vacuuming etc trying to rid the pests from your house. The fleas weren't on them when checking in and I had no reason to believe they'd have them when leaving 6 days later. If they had a flea problem they should've offered the checkout bath for free instead of another charge. As for the playtime charge for our puppy, we were charged for all 6 days of his playtime. I have the bill to show it. Paid in full. Once home with fleas what's the point of calling the kennel? They know they have a problem given that they should be observing the animals and could clearly see the scratching. We did on just the drive home. We might add that not only did we bring the fleas home with us upon checkout, but the facility manager also made mention that our pup had just pooped on his pillow before he was able to collect him and his stuff (pillow, toys, etc). When we got home we opened the bag with his pillow and there was his pillow and the poop at the bottom of the bag. Instead of just leaving it in the run that clearly needed to be cleaned anyway, he bagged it and sent it with us. Very considerate. This is what you can come to expect from the staff of this facility. I don't care what the owner may claim but my experience says it all. I have nothing to gain from leaving the review and my only hope is that anyone else considering leaving their animals here do their homework. Check the reviews for starters. We skipped that step but thought by touring the facility we had covered doing research. But if they're not checking for fleas then it's impossible to know from time to time what experience you're going to be left with. Hopefully yours is not ours.

The last few years I have boarded them at Bark Central. As with any boarding kennel, I have no idea what goes on in the back, but I have never had a problem at Bark Central. My dogs have never come back sick or injured, or excessively dirty (I have had all of these happen at other local boarding kennels). But I give them five stars mainly because they have never "lost" my reservation. Believe it or not, two other local kennels have in the past, leaving me to scramble at the last minute to find a place for my dogs as I try to leave town. Bark Central actually confirms the reservations by email, and they seem to have an organized and professional reservation system. The people that work there are friendly and professional. The prices are reasonable.

Everyone got along fine and we were all set to board our pups when my wife took ill and couldn't make the trip. I went without her and she was home with our dogs. Flash forward to December. We went to Las Vegas for 3 nights and left Tango and Jack with Mike and Beth. Communication was good and Mike sent us emails with photos and even a short video. The dogs are our "babies" and although we missed them very much, it did a lot to ease our minds about the care they were receiving while we were gone. I can highly recommend Mike and Beth of Howling Good Dog Boarding to anyone who needs to board a fuzzy family member. Now that we've found them, we will always leave the care of our dogs to them when we go out of town. Thank you Mike and Beth for taking such good care of our "boys."

Mike was great about sending me video & picture updates while we were on our trip. He's very knowledgeable about dogs, answered all my questions and my dog, Ozzie left happy and worn out! I felt MUCH better about leaving my best buddy in Mike's hands than at a big boarding facility where there's SO many dogs, so much potential for accidents, and not personalized to your dog. Mike is also insured (for peace of mind) and understands that dogs have quirks (mine has food allergies & separation anxiety). I'd give him 10 stars, if I could! We will be back!

When I needed to find a new care giver I was concerned since she had been at the humane society twice, so I wanted the best environment I could find for her. Williamsburg was one place recommended to me. When I visited, I felt very good about the facility and people. The facility was very clean, well organized and staffed. Everyone seemed genuinely interested in the animals under their care. My dog certainly seemed to enjoy her stays (and for a time she was there more than she was at home). She came to know the staff and was always happy to see them. The staff knew her and always treated her so nicely. She was always happy to arrive and just as happy when I came home. While I no longer travel as much, Williamsburg remains the place I trust to take care of my dog. She always seems happy to see the staff and I've been very happy with the service I have received.

The cut is uneven, particularly around her face, which appears choppy and not well blended. Her paws were also not cleaned up to the standard I expected. The areas of greatest concern are her armpit and belly, which were shaved extremely close. Her skin appeared irritated afterward, and there is a small area on her belly that looks consistent with a minor nick from the blade. I spoke with management to address these concerns and am currently requesting a refund based on the result and condition of the grooming. Overall, I am not satisfied with the service provided. If you have a long-haired or double-coated breed, I recommend clearly confirming grooming expectations in advance.
