I would sometimes have display out to one monitor, but I could not get it to output when connecting to 4 monitors (which is essential for our work). I think it took 3-4 business days to get diagnosed, but that was ok. My issues was when they emailed me that PC was ready to be picked and they mentioned my PC was fixed. I asked what the problem was by phone - they could not tell me what the problem was. So I went and came in to pick up the PC and ask what the problem was. They again could not tell me. They said "my technician was out" and only he/she knew what the problem was. Not a convincing strategy to tell a customer. Then, I was asked multiple times to pay the $191 fee for clean up, etc (which I could do on my own btw). Technically the diagnosis was free, but they kept pushing me to pay the $191. Eventually, I just payed the $191 and hoped for the best. They didn't even show me if it worked when connecting a monitor. I trusted them and their reviews, so I just believed them. Lo and behold when I got home, the PC still had the same problem - It would not display any output. Eventually I figured out the problem was for myself - motherboard was broken. Needless to say I will not come back to this establish, and would not recommend at all because: (1) They could not even tell me what the problem was (2) What they alleged fixed was not fixed at all (3) When brought my PC, they emphasized diagnosis was free. But when I came back to pick it up, they kept pushing me to pay the $191 fee for clean up, etc. They didn't even show my if the problem was fixed (connecting a monitor).

The damage I did to the drive required Five Star's clean-room service, and they quoted a flat rate to me in advance. The effort of recovering the data ended up being very challenging and took longer than any of us expected, but at the end Five Star was able to recover over 99% of the files--and I'm happy to say, the 1% of files were not important to me, so the 99% they recovered covered everything I needed. Despite that significant extra work, they invoiced me only for the original quoted amount. I'm happy with the results but also the professionalism. When I first reached out to Five Star, they got back to me at the start of the next business day and, after answering a few follow-up questions, I had a quote and scheduled to drop off my drive the same day. We call and explain the problem with the laptop to the owner, Gilbert. He meets us at the shop, takes the laptop but doesn't pop off the back off for a 10-sec look. He hands my son a form to fill out saying that it would be $65. Luckily we pressed him on what we got for $65. FOR $65 he turns the laptop over pulls the back off (screws already removed BTW) looks at the port. Which needs to be soldered back on. Most places I found ship your drive out of state. That alone makes Alandata the better choice. Very friendly, great customer service. Gave me back my old drive so I can still use it as backup.
