Five out of five stars compared to Alben Cleaners, and four out of five or even better - in general.

Express Dry Cleaners

Express Dry Cleaners

I have been going to this dry cleaners for about a year now. I usually get my husbands suits done…read morehere and my dresses. They usually do a great job. I asked them if they could clean and preserve a wedding dress? They said no problem. I was a little weary at first and should have went with my gut instinct not to bring it there. But I have a small baby and I am also pregnant so it was convenient to bring the dress there. Before I brought this dress in, I had my dress beautifully stored in an a closet in its original packaging so there was nothing wrong with the coloring when I brought it in to them. Long story short, I picked up my dress and was sad to see that the entire dress has a tint of brown. So my $3000.00 dollar dress that was once pure white, was now completely ruined and tinted brown. Notto mention the material looks fried. Not like it did when I brought itto them. Unfortunately... As bad as this was, the way I was treated was much worse. When I went in to confront them, the woman who did the work on the dress was very defensive and was adamant about not taking the blame. She wanted to try to clean it again, which I refused because she told me she already tried to clean it twice. I didn't feel comfortable with them having the dress again. I also took pictures of the dress and sent it to the boutique where I bought it, and they said it needed to be restored by a professional, and that the damage may not even be able to be fixed. I've worked in customer service my entire life and I know that the customer should always be spoken to with respect, and you need to problem solve. Instead she took the clothes that I had there already (different clothes) and pushed me out of her store. She said she was not going to finished her work with me because I might complain about them too. Meanwhile she had a dress of mine that needed to be fixed in a week for a wedding that I was in. I could not believe the way I was treated. Now I am trying to go through their insurance, and I am working with the gentleman there who is the only one that is somewhat reasonable. I don't know how long this will take, or what the outcome will be. But all I really wanted was some sympathy and maybe an apology. Instead I was pushed out, and spoken to in a terrible way. I obviously will NOT be going back to this place. And I recommend to anyone looking to be treated nicely... drive to Danbury and on Mill Plain Rd. there is a drive in cleaners. They are MUCH cleaner inside, and MUCH nicer. Please don't make the same mistake I did. Do not go here, because if something happens that it is their fault, they will not take the blame and they will not try to help you fix it.
