The facility seemed a bit outdated, which was a bit upsetting since physical therapy is a growing field and new technology is constantly being developed to improve the experience. She also made a couple comments/jokes that made me slightly uncomfortable; not scared in any way, but I didn't feel they were appropriate to say when meeting someone for the first time. I'm sure she is great, but I feel that you really need to trust and enjoy your physical therapist, which was not the case for me. I've since gone to a different location in Boulder for physical therapy and love it. The facility is updated, staff is incredibly friendly, and I feel very confident that I am receiving the right care.

Instead of just focusing on the site of the injury and/or the area immediately surrounding it, she looks at how your whole body is functioning to see if the situation is being exacerbated or caused by anything else. She really takes her time with you and explains everything -- the sources and reasons for your pain and each exercise -- in really easy-to-understand ways. It's also clear that she experiences real joy from watching you progress. In the time I've been seeing Kristie, so much of my pain has gone away, my muscles have gotten stronger, and I have no doubt that this will continue until I am fully healed. Added bonus? To start,…read moreI'm the manager of the gym, but my experience with Nicole is something that I just HAD to share. For a couple of years, I've had chronic low back pain... from what? I'm not really sure (years of sitting a desk and other bad daily habits). Resting, massage, chiropractic, acupuncture, dry needling, cupping, ART, yoga... nothing helped long term. After my first evaluation from Nicole, she had figured out that my facets were out of whack in my low back. No one had ever mentioned this before, so it seemed promising. I saw her once a week for a little over a month and when I wasn't seeing her, I had tons of exercises to do on my own and she was constantly checking in on me to see how things were progressing. Well after a couple of months, I have a new range of motion that I've never felt before. No pain. My abs and glutes are activating better. And many areas of restriction have faded away. I can't tell you how great it is to finally be able to not just lift weights and workout without that pain, but to even just bend over to get my shoes in the morning! I do not know quite where to begin with my experience with Debra because it was well...such an…read moreexperience. This was my first time being rolfed or going through the rolfing ten series and it was an extremely transformational and positive experience through and through. I have used chiropractors before and this was a very different kind of bodywork and in my own opinion a more successful style. Debra has been rolfing for over 30 years and still loves what she does. Through these years of experience she has also studied and practiced other forms of bodywork and integrated these into her own practice. She has a very calming presence and it is apparent she is very comfortable and confident with the work she does. I feel she has just about x-ray vision when it comes to the body and seeing what parts of the body are subtly out of place. Going into the experience I had preconceptions of rolfing to be very painful and extremely intense. While some parts of the session did involve intense sensations, Debra is very good at feeling how far to she can go without creating pain but still creating large amounts of change in the body. Throughout the sessions she is very tuned into how I am feeling, my breath and how I am handling the work. She works out of her home, which has a very calm feel to it. Each session began with her looking at my body to understand what fine tunings she needed to make that session. Then she would explain to me roughly what was going to take place and how that fit into the bigger picture. When I had questions, she was wonderful at answering them and I often times got more than I bargained for and learned a great deal about the my anatomy and the interconnectedness of the body. The change in my body was very apparent even in the beginning sessions. Pain I have had for years began to dissipate and my poor posture began to change. One thing I was not aware of going into the experience is how transformational the experience can be mentally. For this transformational experience to take place it was huge having such an aware person to guide me through it and be there for support along the way. She has brought awareness to me about how my body functions and what parts to keep an eye on. All in all, I went in hoping to "realign" my body and remedy some physical traumas. These goals were met, but I came out of it with so much more than just physical successes; I loved myself more and became more comfortable in my own skin.

I was in absolute agony when I came in. Within 5 minutes Rachel had determined the root of my pain. Rachel worked with me and gave me exercises to do at home and gradually each week I noticed improvements. Today I'm virtually pain free thanks to Rachel.
