We had engineered hardwood downstairs and solid hardwood on the stairs and upstairs floor. Enrique came in and gave me realistic outcome possibilities, gave great recommendations and his thoughts on different options for the floor. We ultimately decided we wanted to go for a natural wood look and I seriously could not be more happy with the way it came out. You cant even tell the difference between the two different types of woods, it is truly seamless. Enrique gave suggestions on how to make our risers look more appealing and he was a perfectionist about his work. Once the job was completed he left our house clean and we were very satisfied! Would def recommend to anyone looking to update their floors.

It is not active as of Sept 13, 2023 3. Expect that Enrique only works when he wants to. He cared very little about our work and life commitments and has wasted our time and sucked emotional energy on so many occasions. He bailed on someone else we know and they said they had to hire someone else to come finish the job. This company previously did a good job at our house. We were especially impressed with an area in the entry where Enrique met tile with wood in an interesting pattern that took creativity and skill. I also adore the owner's brother--he is a cool person and a hard worker, but I can no longer recommend them as a company. Last year, I paid them in full for our full house flooring job even though it was not completely finished because we were waiting on transitions to arrive. Enrique promised me he'd be over as soon as they arrived saying, "You can trust me." We shouldn't have. It took weeks (if not months) and many upsetting and emotional conversations to get him back over here. And the work he did after he was paid was not of the same quality. For example, I reported a transition that was poorly installed to him, saying it needed to be repaired because my contractor, handyman, and I were all worried it would break off the way it was installed. Enrique said he would fix it, but then he ghosted us and ignored us for months. The transition i was worried about did in fact break. Argh. Then, when Enrique did finally show up recently, it was strangely on a Sunday of a holiday. He insisted on doing the work the next day, Labor Day when all four of my kids were off school. Worried that this was our only window to get him to do the work, we made childcare arrangements to get them out of the house, and we gave Enrique $300 to buy supplies. As my husband handed him the cash he said, "Don't bail on us like last time. You promise you'll be here tomorrow, right?" and Enrique said he promised in a way that we stupidly really believed him. You know where this story is going...he no showed us the next day, and sucked up our entire holiday waiting on him. He said he'd be there very early on Wednesday instead, so I took off work to wait, and of course, he didn't show up then either. I looked him up online and saw that HIS CONTRACTORS LICENSE WAS EXPIRED. We can't have someone doing major work in our house without a license, and we didn't have any more time or emotional energy to wait on him, so we asked for our deposit back and said we'd just pay someone else to make the repairs. He then sent me a very upsetting and unprofessional text full of personal attacks blaming me, even though no one but himself lost this job. We trusted and bent over backwards to make these repairs happen. And now, HE IS REFUSING TO GIVE US OUR $300 SUPPLY MONEY BACK. I never imagined that the nice, talented, hard working man we hired way back when would stoop to stealing money from us. He spent so much time at our house. I was really fond of him and always happy to see him. It's so sad. I hope he is okay and wish him and his beautiful family the best, but feel like I need to warn other customers.

The job was installing LVP throughout the entire 2-story house. They had to remove tile, carpet and…read morewood flooring. They got started on time and worked fast, at first, after two weeks it was a pain to get anyone to show up. Eventually the owner started coming by to do stuff, I guess because the workers were on other jobs. The owner even had to load up all the demo materials that had sat outside for over a week by himself. I'd give the work a C- (might pass with some people and fail with other people). The reason is because I have questions about the craftsmanship. If they are cutting corners on the stuff I notice as an untrained person, then what else is not done right? For example, after installing the LVP there is an obvious space with the floor was not level (the floor was bouncy). I would expect to uninstall, then level the floor, then reinstall the LVP. Instead, they drilled holes in several places throughout the house into the LVP, then injected glue into the hole, to glue LVP to the floor. Now, instead of being bouncy, it feels like rocks are under the LVP. Ex. 2: the baseboards are not flush, and where they are joined looks like a toddler glued it together. I told them that the baseboards should be joined and look seamless instead of fixing all the seams. He fixed the two worst ones and left all the rest of the seams throughout the house. So now two baseboards look good all the rest look like crap. The owner said everything will settle in a year and not have all these issues. I'll come back in 2027 with an update. We went through Empire Today, they were no help. I told them to send someone out to fix everything, they sent the same guy that messed everything up. If you have to go with Empire because of money issues, i get it, that's why we went with them .... You get what you pay for, I'm sure it's worth it for a lot of people. I don't know if we could have done anything different, maybe try to catch problems when they happen, cause once it's done, they are not changing it.

Woodchuck flooring saved us and we would definitely recommend them!…read more Anybody who was doing a remodel in 2021 knows how hard it is to find quality contractors/trades and then even harder to get on their schedule! Everyone is booked out quite a few weeks to months. We were doing a kitchen remodel in an area that was only about 150 sq ft. After cabinets were installed, the area that needed flooring was 110 to 120 sq ft. Not a huge project, but a big deal to us because we were desperately trying to finish by Thanksgiving. Flooring needed to be put in so that cabinet guys could do final toe kicks and trim, then countertops could be installed, followed by backsplash, then final plumbing and electrical. That's a lot of dominos to schedule and coordinate. We were handling all the general contracting duties ourselves. We had been in talks with another flooring installer the month before and he said he would try to fit us in when he could. But as the weeks past it was clear that he just became too busy to work with our schedule. So we had to scramble to find a new flooring company. Thank goodness we came upon Woodchuck flooring! Initially spoke with Chad on a Thursday evening (a week and a half before Thanksgiving!). We discussed the project over the phone then followed with some photos and texts on Friday. Because our project was on the smaller side and we already had all the flooring on site, Chad said he would find a way to squeeze us in next week. On Monday, Chad came out to personally look over the project and confirm everything. That Weds, Cavell was sent out to take care of us. Cavell is a great guy, friendly attitude, and really cares about doing an awesome job and making it look good! The results really do speak for themselves. By the end of the day on Weds. Cavell had finished about 85% of the job. The next day we had scheduled our cabinet guy because it was the only day he was available. We were concerned they would get in each others way, but everything worked out smoothly! Cavell wrapped up the remaining flooring by lunch time and had to go off to his next flooring adventure. Our cabinet guy was now able to button everything up since final flooring was in! The flooring we went with was a 7.5" wide engineered hardwood that was only 1/2" thick. The reason for that thickness was that we wanted to match the thickness of our current wood floors to avoid having to put in a transition. This worked out perfectly as you can see from the pic showing the old floor and the new floor almost seamlessly flush with no transition filler needed. Originally, we wanted to have these planks only nailed down in case we ever had to repair for water damage or whatever. After speaking with several floor installers and Chad, it was determined that these wider planks must be glued down so as to avoid any potential cupping, squeaks etc. The issue is that when planks are this wide there would be too much space between the nails. Old flooring is usually nail down because the planks are only about 2 inches wide so there are nails every 2 inches holding down the flooring. Having nails every 7+ inches a part is too much spacing for a quality, long lasting install. We also had the subfloors all screwed down before Woodchuck came on scene. Between a screwed down subfloor and glued down engineered hardwood planks, the flooring in the kitchen will be solid pretty much forever. So a big thank you to Woodchuck flooring for being able to squeeze us into their schedule. You guys helped saved Thanksgiving for us! This was only possible because you guys are organized, responsive, reliable, and do great work. Even though our project was small, we were always treated like important customers. Chad always had time to talk or answer any questions. Cavell did a wonderful job and we are happy with how it all turned out.
