Today is July 10, 2024. This is the 2nd time I've come to this Laundry mat where there's an old guy that at 9:00 gets in front of the door and says "We're closed". I was walking in just to dry my clothes since my drying machine doesn't properly dry my clothes out. When this guy's stand in front of me in the entrance and stops me physcally, puts a hand in my basket of clothes and says "We're close". I said "It's not even 9:59 buddy" [Sign says 9:59 "Last wash"]. I kept walking and since I guess he doesn't speak English, the guy just says "Ok" cause sign says 9:59. I'm coming back but I need the phone # of the owner of this Laundry mat to complaint. If the info is wrong they should change it in the entrance. read more

Almost half the machines are broken. Coin machine out of service, again! Place has no attendant and is filthy. For awhile it was looking real good. Then it just seemed to stop and fall into disrepair like it was a few years ago. Sign says high speed internet. That hasn't worked in years. If your going to run a laundromat you need to be there to keep it running. Not stop by to get the money and leave!! The other Roy locations are almost the same!! Superb clean!! I want to give more than 3 stars but the machine I used took more money than it supposed to. I can't get my money back or there was no one to assist! I had to do some laundry while self-quarantining at my daughter's in Denton. Machines are first rate, but a bit pricey. Everyone says free wifi, but the only network my phone detected was a private MAC network and no password anywhere to be found. The place has decent vending machines and was clean and well lighted. What more can you ask (I mean besides cheaper rates and actually free wifi as advertised)? read more

I have come to this location for a while and thought I was treated fair. But today I came in to do the special of 50 cent washers and was told that there were none. I would have to wait 20-30minutes for them so I decided to use a more expensive washer. Right as I put my money in the washer, a couple (not my skin color) came in and was taken directly to (2) 50 cent washers!! I couldn't believe it! I will not come here any more. Been coming here every week for about a year. In the last three months I rarely see an attendant here. There's always problems with the machines eating quarters, being too full of quarters, etc. Today there was a flood that came from between several machines and has soaked 80% of the floor in a half inch of soapy water. No attendant, no notice of who to contact in case of emergency, nothing. This is unsafe and downright terrible. Never coming again. read more

This place was good until tonight. I just moved to Denton about 3 weeks ago and my dryer went out. So. Lately I have been washing at home and I will take my clothes to the dry. Tonight that did not happen. I arrived with my small basket of clothes, which is my uniforms for work. This is around 925pm 930pm. It was this old short guy with grey hair at the door. I was half way to the dryer and he yelled" ma'ma we are closed. I said huh? He said we are closed the last "wash" is at 9pm. I said im not washing I just need to dry. He said we are closed its a 24 hour one down the street. So I guess he doesn't care about the business. I proceeded out the door, then I turned around and seen the sign in the door that stated last wash at 959pm. So I went back and asked him what does that mean. He said that means the last wash and you want get your stuff until tomorrow. I said well that's not the door states. He said he doesn't care and said get out. I told him I'm never coming back because his customer service sucks. Whomever is in charge needs to handle the employees that work there. You will continue to lose business with people like him working there. Bad customer service.. Thanks to all the other employees whom were nice. But tonight was my last night coming here. I will go to the 24/7 from now on. I wish there was a no star rating because this is what he gave me. read more

The evening laundry attendant is very rude. The sign clearly states that it closes at 10pm. The lights are turned off at 9 pm (fair). The attendant came over at 9:40 pm (according to the clock hanging in the laundromat) to say it is closed. I showed her the sign that says 10 pm. Management CLEARLY needs to review closing protocol with the staff. read more

Free wi-fi and I think there's another location up the road by Ave. C where they are open all night. Pretty pricey for laundry. But I compensate by putting things in the big machines. I only came here if my wi-fi was broken or my roommate was hogging the machine at our place. For the price, I'd say it's reasonable, since things have gone up apprently (sees earlier reviews). read more

Horrible. I've done my laundry near the Ave C. location, which was fine. The location near Carroll and Eagle Dr. was horrible. My boyfriend and I went to do our laundry at the Eagle Dr. location. Everything was fine until some lady tried to go through my purse!!! When I went over and asked what she was doing she got defensive and walked away. She then tried to pick a fight with me and my boyfriend every chance she got. I understand you can't help who uses the machines, but the worst part is that the woman that worked there joined in talking crap about my boyfriend and I for 30 minutes. They thought we couldn't understand spanish, but we both do. I'm never going back to a place where employees thinks it's ok to talk shit with thieves about other customers! Cheap, clean, gets the job done. We never have any issues here unlike other laundrymats we've been to in Denton. Free wifi and covered parking available. Never too busy. Only complaints; Spanish tv is all you will get here and the trashcans are in inconvenient places when you're folding laundry, but this is the best place we've found to do laundry in Denton. read more

Roy's automatically gets 4 shiny stars because they have FREE internet access, which is why half the people here have laptops on-hand. Formerly a gas station, Roy's is also the only place in Denton, my neighbor claims, that actually gets your clothes clean. Contemplate that for a few minutes... I usually go to the North Texas Laundramat, just because I used to go there when I lived across the street, but I like how Roy's has mega-size washers and dryers. They're perfect for blankets or huge loads. (Have you ever been embarrassed because you took up 9 washers? That won't happen here.) Also, this is a great place to people-watch. while NT Laundramat gets mostly families, all the wierdos come here. I just saw two beatniks carrying their laundry in a double-gallon sized trash can! The only thing wrong with Roy's is the lack of benches and seats, so most people lean on the folding tables. Come in the afternoon to beat the crowd. read more

I went to Roy's wash and dry to do laundry and put a $20 bill in the change machine but only received $13 in quarters. When I notified an employee she said that the manager would have to call me back in a couple of days. I chose not to do my laundry there if they're going to steal $7 from me. I've always had decent experiences doing laundry here up until today. The quarter machine took my 5.00$ without giving me any quarters for it. No employees at all in the total laundry mat and no phone number to contact anyone. Waited an hour trying to find someone to help me to no avail. Been coming here for years. There have been times that the quality of the place and cleanliness has been very questionable. But in the last year it has been bad. No attendants on duty as usual. Went here to do a large load put it all in the front machine #3 was the one. after we got all the blankets in we put in the soap and softener and $8.00 worth of quarters. It's the cheapest place to go to do laundry. They previously had 25 cent washers (they still have 25 cent dryers), but now it's 50 cents. Still pretty damn cheap, though. Avoid going at night, especially on Sundays, when large families who haven't done laundry in 4 months take every piece of material they own up there to wash it. The dryers kind of stink, considering one quarter gets you 7 minutes, which won't really dry your clothes. A good 2-3 quarters might, depending on the material. read more

Free WiFi is a great draw, but Roy's on Eagle Dr. charges $1.00 per small load and $2.00 for a "normal" sized load. The facilities are fairly clean, but I found that the detergent bins are caked with old detergent. Pretty gross! read more

Have been doing laundry there for a year. People don't control their kids, and the people steal. Found other people doing laundry would open my washer like they were checking clothes, and take them out. Also, the other people put clothes in the machines and let them sit for hours. In there today 01/30/2016 and most of the dryers had clothes sitting in them waiting for people to come get them out. Saw several people come put clothes in dryers and leave. They haven't been back and it has been at least an hour. Manager needs someone to be onsite during the day to deter people from this. read more

I use the big machines they cost like $4.75 snd $2.75 each. The small tiny ones only cost like $1.50 but they are super fast, they clean the clothes VERY GOOD. Okay the DRYERS well some of them do not DRY and some of the people do not put a post it or note on them therefore the people who own them don't seem to Fix them. I had a horrible experience at Roys. The machine wasnt working, and took my money. When I asked the attendant for my money back she said no.The attendant here did not have an attendant uniform on she came over to tell me that I was basically an idiot, when I asked the phone number of the owner she refused to give it to me and said no no and no she does not know how to speak English. The employee over on carroll blvd was very rude I went there at 8:55pm to wash 2 load she tell me it close and on the door it said last wash load at 9:59pm but she let another race when I start to leave. Will never go over there again and will tell my family and friends don't go there. read more

The sign states last was by 9:59 pm. Showed up at 9:28 and the Hispanic lady said they were closed. I asked he about the sign and she said she had already cleaned so no one could use the machines. If you post hours, you should honor them. read more

Roy's Wash and Dry is pretty clean inside. There are several folding tables. That was the good. Now the bad. While you may be able to wash a single load for $1.50 it will cost you at least that much to dry it. The heat is adjusted so low on the driers that you will leave there either with wet clothes or wondering why you have no money left. Also if I want to be cussed at in a foreign language I will go to France. Not a laundry mat up the street. It says last wash in by 9:59pm. I started a load at 9:35 pm the wash cycle took 30 minutes. Then thirty five minutes in the drier later the attendant began talking crap about me and other pinche pendaho's that wait all day to do their wash. Believe it or not plenty of Americans understand spanish. The other posts are from people that do not even live here in Denton. It is odd that only people that were either just visiting or do not even exist at all liked this place.
