Small but felt like plenty of seating - staff was nice and quick to bring anything you needed. The bean and cheese nachos are perfect - 5 out of 5! BEWARE OF DRIVR THRU!!!! Just bought a large carne quisada and sweet tea. Drive thru lady tried charging me $15.74 for ONE TACO AND ONE TEA! This is a $8 order and ending up paying $10.74. Said she charged HER tip like she always does when I was trying to pay with credit card. Since she felt comfortable trying to add a tip without asking the customer or anything makes me wonder how many people she has scammed with this tactic. Agreed, the carne guisada with cheese was really good! Just wish I had received the 2nd one. I ordered 2 cg with cheese, but only got one and a bean and cheese for the other. I guess that's on me. Should always open each taco to make sure they are the correct ones... Also, even though the "Texas size" tacos are larger than the regular size, the amount of filling inside the taco wasn't that great. Seemed like a lot of tortilla just to be "Texas sized". My other taco was a chilaquiles which was pretty good, and picadillo, which also tasted really good, but had a couple of hard chunks of grisle. So, be careful eating that one! I was in the area decided to stop by. This was a staple in my late teens. It's been a couple of years since I've been back. I ordered two of the large tacos. Immediately I noticed they were smaller than I remember and a lot more expensive. What hasn't recently right? The first taco was the carne con chile with rice. Still great, still spicy, and made me feel good inside. The carne guisada though was a total disappointment. I remember it was peppery and savory. This was bland. The tortillas for whatever reason are so much worse on the larger tacos than the regular ones. Maybe quality control but it doesn't make sense. They are very dense at that size and not what you want in a tortilla. If I had only eaten the chile con carne taco it would have been a 4. The green sauce was still delicious and spicy! Been coming to this place for ages! They've since changed owners a couple of times. The food has not changed for the most part, which is a good thing. However, it seems lately the carne guisada is a hit & miss. The salsa is still good & the cheese enchiladas are awesome! The service is good still, prices have gone up slightly. Don't let the long lines at the drive thru scare you away, it moves fairly quickly. They will send a person to take your order while in line, this speeds up the process, unless you`re the type that changes your order at the window! Try some Texas sized tacos!! read more

I've had Barbacoa here a few times and it was always really good but the last time I went it was watery I don't know what that time it changed. I'll go again and see if it's still the same maybe they just had a different cook that day. read more

The tacos from Roy's Taco Hut are just as huge as the ones served at Rolando's and Teran's on the opposite side of S.A. but better. The carne guisada is far superior to its next door neighbor Chelo's. The drive thru here does get crowded but it moves fast. They also serve regular size tacos if you don't want the huge size. The chorizo and egg is ok and their lemonade is very good. read more

Their tortillas are definitely on the thicker side but have very good flavor. You can also size your taco up to Texas sized for $1.50 I believe and they are huge! Let me have a texas size fajita with guacamole taco, better yet make that two tacos. Yes I loved that taco and I willl definitely be back for round two. We originally were going to a small Mexican restaurant we regular,but it was packed with a line outside. We decided to go to Roy's, a restaurant my husband had been to with his work buddies. Though a small restaurant, it has free parking , great Beatles decor, a collection of license plates on the wall, and plenty of seating this little hidden gem was quite the surprise! We were greeted as we came in, you're able to seat yourself. We weren't sitting very long before the waitress came and took our order, very professional and pleasant. What came next was the biggest surprise! When our food came, I was shocked! The tacos were huge and the plate was filled! Not to mention when I opened the tortilla warmer! Arrived to a friendly waitress who was very attentive and quick to serve chips and salsa. A small bowl of chips and warm salsa. They both taste fresh. It's not spicy at all. There was a warning on the menu that stated they charge $1 for a refill of chips and salsa. I didn't like that very much. After initially seeing my waitress, I never saw her again. Food arrived fast. Within 10 minutes. I got the Roy's special which is a little bit of everything - enchiladas, tacos, rice and beans. It was decent. Didn't stand out. It was average Mexican food. Large portions. It was a Friday morning about 10:45am. I was on my way to the post office when I made a u-turn and pulled into Roy's Taco Hut. This was my first time here. I chose to turn around when I saw a healthy drive thru line. Lots of people equals good food in my opinion. The intimate seating area was buzzing with people. The staff was busy taking care of their customers. The coffee was hot and my barbacoa taco was delicious. This restaurant serves "Texas Size Tacos" and "Small Tacos". I had the small. I'm not brave enough to attempt a Texas Size Taco. Since that first initial visit, I've been back 2 times and every time I visit I receive great service and great food! Can't complain about the food but what i don't like are how they charge for food you ordered but they don't itemize the food you ordered, they just charge you an amount and expect you to pay it without showing the customer the itemized prices? ‍ we're just supposed to trust that they are not overcharging the customer and when we asked for and itemized detail of what we ordered the lady behind the counter said she couldn't provide us with that info!
