If you already know Roy's, I probably don't have to say much. Upscale Hawaiian fusion with Asian influences and such a phenomenal food experience. The ambiance is chill, candle lit vibes. Plus, you're right near Pebble Beach! The staff was great and the food was outstanding. We ordered the coconut shrimp, spare ribs, butterfish, and filet mignon. Everything was cooked to perfection. Roy's is one of the best, so I'm mostly here to post the food pics LOL. Thank you, Roy's, for such a great experience. It almost felt like being back in Hawaii.

Took my wife here for our anniversary. Beautiful views, delicious food, great service. This was quite the highlight. HOT TIP: Make a reservation beforehand and they'll waive entrance fee to the 17 mile drive when you show your reservation . We made a reservation for lunch and opted for a 3 course meal. Take advantage of walking the beautiful scenery along the boardwalk. Lounge in the lobby of the Spanish Inn and have a drink. We'll definitely be back.

Surf and Turf with Honey Mustard Short Ribs, Black Bean Glazed Swordfish, and Steamed Veggies

After doing half of the beautiful 17 mile drive, we came here for dinner as part of our honeymoon trip, and left so satisfied! The place was definitely bustling when we came in, but we had a nice seat off to the side where we could look outside at Larry of the ocean! Our drinks were delicious to start off, and our Lakanilau Roll with the seared wagyu was such a delicious way to start off our meal! For dinner I had the surf and turf with honey mustard beef short ribs and black bean glazed swordfish; the short ribs were so nice and tender with a sauce that was just perfect in its thickness and hint of sweetness! And because it was our honeymoon, they gave us some free cake and ice cream, which was very thoughtful! All in all, I'd love to come back and check out the rest of this menu, and just overall hang out at this hotel/resort! A nice way to have ended our weekend before we left on Sunday

Located in Spanish Bay at Pebble Beach, the views are incredible. You're looking out over the golf course with the ocean just beyond, and it feels upscale and peaceful. If you time it right, you can even catch the bagpiper at 5:30pm. I've been to other Roy's locations and always order the miso butterfish. This time, it was still good, but slightly off compared to what I'm used to. It had a faint fishiness that usually isn't there, so while I still enjoyed it, it didn't quite hit that usual top tier standard. We also ordered pasta for my son, which he devoured, and a steak that was solid and well prepared. Overall, the food was good, but not necessarily the highlight. The real standout was dessert. The chocolate lava cake was an absolute slam dunk. Just a heads up, it takes about 20 minutes to prepare, so ordering it midway through your meal is the move. Totally worth it. Service was excellent. Our waiter was polite and thoughtful, especially recommending we order the lava cake early, which saved us a long wait at the end. Parking is easy with plenty of self parking available, and after your meal you can walk around or head into 17 Mile Drive, which makes the whole outing feel like more than just dinner. One tip: try to get a reservation on the earlier side and request a window seat if possible. A lot of people come just to see the bagpiper, so being able to enjoy that from inside the restaurant is a nice bonus. Overall, you're coming here for the experience. The views, the atmosphere, and the setting make it hard to beat, especially around sunset.

Our dinner was absolutely incredible! We were so sad when the Roy's by us closed so any time we are near another one we have to stop in. This one is exceptionally beautiful and the ambiance is breathtaking and lovely. Our service was impeccable and the food was beyond delicious! We ordered: sushi, sashimi, duck, filet minion and swordfish. We also had the lava cake and cheesecake for dessert and truly everything was delectable with a stunning presentation. This might be my favorite restaurant ever! Thank you for an amazing night, Roy's at Pebble Beach! We will be back for sure!! I was so busy eating I didn't take many pics until dessert but trust me this food is to die for!

Roy's is never a bad choice. Food and service is always top notch. We went with a big party and the downside is that they are not able to push tables together and had us at 3 tables next to each other. Made the convos more personal but harder to interact with the whole group. Also, it does get quite noisy in the main dinning area. But that's a plus for anyone with young kids.

Lakanilu roll, seared wagyu with crab, asparagus and avocado.

I've probably been here 20 times and always enjoyed the view and service. What I have learned is that some dishes are better than others. Last night stepped out of my comfort zone and tried the Lakanilu roll with seared Wagyu. It sounds better than it really is, I found the wagyu cold and tough. As usual the signature hot chocolate cake is outstanding.

Long on my bookmark list, this restaurant is the only to my knowledge that's still owned by its founder that's on the mainland. Booking a Sunday brunch reservation in mid-September, we arrived a little early so we walked the back of the resort towards the beach and enjoyed the sights and sounds. When we returned and checked in at the hostess stand, we were seated at a long table past the hostess stand and near the window facing the beach. As we studied the menus, we saw a mix of our favorites from their flagship restaurant on Oahu as well as several different menu items. Since we were driving home after this meal, everyone abstained from alcohol but the non-alcohol beverages were interesting. I tried the Aloha punch (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=0&select=qHBaziiMBGkQXXnAoEswkQ), passionfruit-orange-guava puree, Sprite, orange juice, which was delicious. We each ordered entrees while adding several items to share. Here's what we had: Appetizers, shared: 1. Nori-wrapped scallop (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=0&select=7u_tMPwH80ITd6aGko8lvw) - Miso yuzu beurre blanc, saffron aioli, shiso pesto. Tasty and a great starter. 2. Shrimp tempura & salmon roll (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=0&select=hgaHArXIAwIbPaJjQRVdZw) - Spicy maguro, avocado, sea salt, Sriracha aioli. Enjoyed this too. Main, shared 3. Big Island Loco Moco (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=0&select=xC904b9SWWc1FtfHD25L0w) - Fried egg, crispy onion, oyster mushroom sauce. This was a miss for me as the burger was cooked well done as the egg was also on the done side ( no runny yolk). Most importantly for me, the gravy was not memorable. Main 4. Roy's Bento Box, Japanese-style misoyaki butterfish (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=0&select=jt8Bswr7nobtfEM9w49v9w) - Furikaki rice, sashimi of the day, daily appetizer, salad, miso soup; the miso soup (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=0&select=YRQlvSSHEEnEykz1fINVIg) was a generous bowl and extremely tasty. The appetizer was fried fish for my meal which was just okay. The butterfish for the bento is grilled, more similar to the Oahu version but a step below flavor wise and in freshness. Two of our fellow diners ordered the meal version of the butterfish which is prepared differently, seemingly steamed and coming with a dashi broth. I would likely order that over the bento one when visiting again. Dessert, shared 5. "Melting Hot" Chocolate cake (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=0&select=iuXdoxrXB2SjCZfRwV63ig) - Served hot from the oven with raspberry-vanilla swirl ice cream. This was delicious and there was no mistaking the cake was oozing and gooey with chocolate. Surprisingly, our party enjoyed this even more than the one at Hawaii Kai. The dining room was only about a third full, mostly couples enjoy the beautiful view of the beach and ocean, while many chose to dine outside with the beautiful late summer weather. Big thanks to Jesse who tended to our needs and offered menu suggestions. The gals at the hostess stand were very friendly in taking our group photos by the entrance. This was a great way to close our trip and glad to enjoy the view, atmosphere, and friendly service along with good food. Just temper your expectations if you're comparing it to the flagship in Hawaii Kai.

A Spectacular Luncheon with Views to Match! We celebrated our 20th anniversary with a weekday lunch at Roy's at Pebble Beach, and it was an absolutely unforgettable experience. Located at The Inn at Spanish Bay, this spot perfectly blends an upscale ambiance with the relaxed, warm spirit of Hawaiian-fusion hospitality. The Vibe & Service From the moment we arrived, the staff was incredibly warm, welcoming, and friendly. We were seated outside, and the views were breathtaking--you truly can't beat looking out over the Pacific Ocean and the lush golf course while you eat. The Food The Pacific Rim cuisine here is top-tier. Here is what we enjoyed: * Lakanilau Roll: This was a standout! The combination of seared domestic Wagyu, spicy Dungeness crab, panko asparagus, and avocado was easily one of the best rolls we've ever had. * Miso & Cream of Broccoli Soups: We tried both. While the miso soup originally came out a bit lukewarm, the staff didn't hesitate to fix it. They were happy to take it back and brought out a fresh, piping-hot bowl immediately. Great service! * Fire-Grilled Honey Mustard Beef Short Ribs: These were fabulous. The ribs were so tender and flavorful, paired perfectly with an awesome potato patty and broccolini. * Big Island Loco Moco: A very filling and sumptuous dish. The beef patty with the oyster mushroom sauce and fried egg was pure comfort food elevated to a gourmet level. The Sweet Ending We finished with the "Melting Hot" Chocolate Cake served with raspberry-vanilla swirl ice cream. It was divine--rich, gooey, and "too good" to put into words! To top off the celebration, the staff brought out a complimentary anniversary dessert with a sweet message written on the plate. Final Verdict Between the stunning views, the incredible food, and the attentive service, our anniversary lunch was perfect. If you're looking for a place to celebrate a special occasion in Pebble Beach, Roy's is a must-visit.

Classic Trio

We made a reservation here for a birthday dinner during our visit to Monterey, and it was remembered that we were celebrating a birthday until they gave us the birthday greeting card of the completely wrong person HAHA no harm no foul. Everyone working was really nice and made sure that we were well taken care of. We were seated outside, and it was gorgeous to be outdoors overlooking the water. It did get a little cold at night, but there were plenty of space warmers outside to keep us warm. We both ordered the Tribute Pre Fixe Menu but one with the Classic Trio and one with the Truffle Crusted 8 oz Wagyu Ribeye Steak so we could try everything! The Roy's Haleakala Roll was good and had a real nice crunch. The Kuliouou Salad was refreshing! The Classic Trio was okay - I felt that they were on the drier side, but I enjoyed the variety on the plate. The Ribeye was juicy, but I felt that the truffle was very strong, and it became filling very fast. We were surprised with a birthday message with the "Melting Hot" Chocolate Cake, and it was so yummy!

First time stopping by Roy's and was pleasantly surprised. The food was rich and full of flavor. The vegetarian and vegan options were satisfying, which is often not the case at other establishments. The desserts were also very nice and did not taste "too sweet." The service was wonderful. I cannot remember the server's name, but he was attentive and talkative. He provided a lot of insight about the menu and the options. The indoor area is nice but the outdoor section makes the visit more worth it. It is cozy and relaxing. However, due to the prices, I would definitely stop by for rare special occasions.

I forgot there's a Roy's in Carmel! It was recommended by the hotel front desk (Hilton Embassy Suites Monterey) and I love Roy's, my must go to place in Waikiki. The location was awesome, we were able to enjoy the view before we went in to the restaurant. The food was top notch, just perfect for a celebrating a birthday. The service was impeccable. The ambience was elegant. The place was pretty full. I had made reservations the same day and was so happy they still had room for us. We had a great time! And will definitely not forget they are still there. They are celebrating their 30 years in that location!

Are jeans allowed as long as they are nice and we are dressed nicely?

Absolutely no problem

Of course, wear your golf clothes. Roy's is a nice, but not a pretentious restaurant. You will be totally comfortable in your golf attire.

Is the patio dining dog friendly?

Yes, but make sure to call and check how long the wait is, as they don't take reservations for the patio and it does fill up on weekends due to the gorgeous view. A couple that was behind us with a dog was told it was over an hour and a half wait on… Read more

After walking on the pier we were kinda worried about finding a decent spot to eat. So glad we gave it a try. Walking in there were like 3 other parties walking in so that was encouraging. It gave off Hawaiian/tiki vibes and was inviting. They have a 3 course special 4-5 pm for like $30. My husband and I picked that, I had the teriyaki chicken bowl and he had bbq ribs. The salad had a delicious dressing and had to eat every morsel. Both the main courses were really good. My grandson ordered the steak and ate every bite of the whole meal. Kai (the waiter) was very nice and gave us some advice on what to see along the route. I got an amazing picture that I blew up to hang in our room. Totally recommend giving this place a try!

From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with smiles and genuine hospitality. Our server, Paula, was a class act and great at what she does. We loved the poke chips and lilikoi buns. My wife had the halibut, my daughter had the chicken nuggets and fries, and I had the ribeye. The Mai Tai and Chi Chi were outstanding. The highlight of the night was when Paula surprised our daughter with a shaved ice dessert and dry ice presentation. It was her last day of 2nd grade, and we were celebrating the start of summer before she heads into 3rd grade. The smile on her face was priceless. Earlier in the day we experienced some poor customer service elsewhere, so this was a great reminder of what true hospitality looks like. Great food, great drinks, and even better service. Thank you, Paula, for helping make a special family memory. We'll definitely be back.

It was packing up as we were getting ready to leave. I put a lot of faith in our servers. When we go to sushi, we pick 2, then we usually say what we like, and then ask for them to surprise us. This is what they brought out, and we were not disappointed. Everything was awesome. This is a go-to when we stay in Pacific Grove. We will come back again when we visit town.

Servers were fast and effecient. The soups and salads came first and they were OK. We ordered the gyoza udon, chicken teriyaki, chiarshi and a tempura roll. First of all the udon offerings included kimchi udon which I've never seen in a Japanese restaurant. It's obviously some Korean-Japanses concoction. The udon included a couple of diced carrots and brocolli. So kinda an American-Japanese concoction. 1* The chicken teriyaki was chewy and flavorless. Tasted boiled, not grilled. Rice, salad ok but really kind of hard to screw up. 2* The chirashi and tempura roll were a little better. The tempura roll was at least edible but I noticed the pieces were not evenly cut. One was 1/3 the size of the others. If you know sushi, that's a cardinal sin. Also, no wasabi or ginger served iwth any of the dishes. 3* So if you're looking for something resembling real Japanese food Nura ain't it. Won't be back.

We sat at the bar and were immeditely introduced to the incredibly kind and easygoing sushi chefs behind the counter. They engaged in small talk before and after our meal, while also allowing us time to read the menu and later eat in our own company. It was sweet watching them interact with a regular who sat next to my wife and I at the bar, a musician who plays jazz at an Italian joint down the street every Thursday. He sang The Four Seasons under his breath and was happy to engage with his fellow barmates. We introduced ourselves and then he gave us marriage advice and told a couple jokes. It was one of the most pleasant little interactions we've had in awhile and felt so immersive to the local scene. The service and vibes were overall immaculate--not to mention the cozy nooks of a house-turned-Thai-turned-sushi restaurant giving it a homey feel. Then there was the sushi itself served on wooden boat platters. The scallop, bluefin, and fatty tuna sushimi were well portioned and buttery smooth. The Lover's Point and Seaside special roles were also fresh and savory. Best yet was the kindness of the owner himself, working the sushi bar and sharing rare samples of halibut fin when preparing our Hirame. I've never had such unique raw fish before and really appreciated him giving us that opportunity. The miso soup was beautifully balanced to kick it all off, too!
