    Poke was phenomenal

Presentation, food, flavors. We ordered miso soup, lobster, steak, short ribs, Misoyaki butterfish, swordfish, coconut shrimp, poke, sushi rolls, mai tai, pineapple martini, sparkling sake. Food very flavorful and done well, a truly unforgettable meal! I enjoyed every bite. The staff were very attentive and really made the dining experience.

Amazing place and views. Coming here just for the views is good enough however the food is top notch so you have to. We ordered multiple things and everything came out so good. Towards the end of dinner we had eaten so much that we could barely move . We ordered baby back ribs, octopus, spring rolls, butter fish, vegetables stir fry and pork tenderloin. Everything was so fresh and flavorful. Our server was friendly and the service was fast. Drinks were good as well. Don't miss out their lava cake.

If you already know Roy's, I probably don't have to say much. Upscale Hawaiian fusion with Asian influences and such a phenomenal food experience. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance is chill, candle lit vibes.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Plus, you're right near Pebble Beach![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The staff was great and the food was outstanding. We ordered the coconut shrimp, spare ribs, butterfish, and filet mignon. Everything was cooked to perfection. Roy's is one of the best, so I'm mostly here to post the food pics LOL. Thank you, Roy's, for such a great experience. It almost felt like being back in Hawaii.

Took my wife here for our anniversary. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Beautiful views, delicious food, great service.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This was quite the highlight. HOT TIP: Make a reservation beforehand and they'll waive entrance fee to the 17 mile drive when you show your reservation . We made a reservation for lunch and opted for a 3 course meal. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Take advantage of walking the beautiful scenery along the boardwalk.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Lounge in the lobby of the Spanish Inn and have a drink.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We'll definitely be back.

Located in Spanish Bay at Pebble Beach, the views are incredible. You're looking out over the golf course with the ocean just beyond, and it feels upscale and peaceful. If you time it right, you can even catch the bagpiper at 5:30pm. I've been to other Roy's locations and always order the miso butterfish. This time, it was still good, but slightly off compared to what I'm used to. It had a faint fishiness that usually isn't there, so while I still enjoyed it, it didn't quite hit that usual top tier standard. We also ordered pasta for my son, which he devoured, and a steak that was solid and well prepared. Overall, the food was good, but not necessarily the highlight. The real standout was dessert. The chocolate lava cake was an absolute slam dunk. Just a heads up, it takes about 20 minutes to prepare, so ordering it midway through your meal is the move. Totally worth it. Service was excellent. Our waiter was polite and thoughtful, especially recommending we order the lava cake early, which saved us a long wait at the end. Parking is easy with plenty of self parking available, and after your meal you can walk around or head into 17 Mile Drive, which makes the whole outing feel like more than just dinner. One tip: try to get a reservation on the earlier side and request a window seat if possible. A lot of people come just to see the bagpiper, so being able to enjoy that from inside the restaurant is a nice bonus. Overall, you're coming here for the experience. The views, the atmosphere, and the setting make it hard to beat, especially around sunset.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]We enjoyed lunch at Roy's. Great views and service![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The drinks were also great- Pebbletini and MaiTai. The chicken Thai noodle bowl was ok. The chicken was overcooked a bit and it just had okay flavors. The beef bowl with veggies and glass noodles was great! Loved the flavors but again the meat was a bit overcooked. The star was the tempura shrimp salad. HUGE tempura shrimp perfectly cooked on a bed of greens dressed in a cilantro vinegarette

The service was great, and the club sandwich was fresh and delicious! The avocado was creamy and flavorful, and the crispy bacon was the perfect touch. The ocean view was beautiful and made the experience even better. Overall, a lovely spot for a meal with a great view!

Food was pretty good. Can't say amazing. But the attention to detail is remarkable. We booked for our 20th wedding anniversary and they had it noted before we sat down. Congratulated us on the milestone, and one of the managers stopped by to check in. I think 5 or 6 attendants waited on us over the night. Lovely service. The location is spectacular, of course. Look it up.

We can always count on this specific Roy's to have a top notch lunch menu with so much to choose from. I wish they offered these selections at dinner. The portions were hearty, tasty, and artfully presented. Make sure to ask for some of their stellar bread and sit on the patio!

Our dinner was absolutely incredible! We were so sad when the Roy's by us closed so any time we are near another one we have to stop in. This one is exceptionally beautiful and the ambiance is breathtaking and lovely. Our service was impeccable and the food was beyond delicious! We ordered: sushi, sashimi, duck, filet minion and swordfish. We also had the lava cake and cheesecake for dessert and truly everything was delectable with a stunning presentation. This might be my favorite restaurant ever! Thank you for an amazing night, Roy's at Pebble Beach! We will be back for sure!! I was so busy eating I didn't take many pics until dessert but trust me this food is to die for!

    Aloha punch, zero proof

Long on my bookmark list, this restaurant is the only to my knowledge that's still owned by its founder that's on the mainland. Booking a Sunday brunch reservation in mid-September, we arrived a little early so we walked the back of the resort towards the beach and enjoyed the sights and sounds. When we returned and checked in at the hostess stand, we were seated at a long table past the hostess stand and near the window facing the beach. As we studied the menus, we saw a mix of our favorites from their flagship restaurant on Oahu as well as several different menu items. Since we were driving home after this meal, everyone abstained from alcohol but the non-alcohol beverages were interesting. I tried the Aloha punch (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=0&select=qHBaziiMBGkQXXnAoEswkQ), passionfruit-orange-guava puree, Sprite, orange juice, which was delicious. We each ordered entrees while adding several items to share. Here's what we had: Appetizers, shared: 1. Nori-wrapped scallop (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=0&select=7u_tMPwH80ITd6aGko8lvw) - Miso yuzu beurre blanc, saffron aioli, shiso pesto. Tasty and a great starter. 2. Shrimp tempura & salmon roll (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=0&select=hgaHArXIAwIbPaJjQRVdZw) - Spicy maguro, avocado, sea salt, Sriracha aioli. Enjoyed this too. Main, shared 3. Big Island Loco Moco (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=0&select=xC904b9SWWc1FtfHD25L0w) - Fried egg, crispy onion, oyster mushroom sauce. This was a miss for me as the burger was cooked well done as the egg was also on the done side ( no runny yolk). Most importantly for me, the gravy was not memorable. Main 4. Roy's Bento Box, Japanese-style misoyaki butterfish (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=0&select=jt8Bswr7nobtfEM9w49v9w) - Furikaki rice, sashimi of the day, daily appetizer, salad, miso soup; the miso soup (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=0&select=YRQlvSSHEEnEykz1fINVIg) was a generous bowl and extremely tasty. The appetizer was fried fish for my meal which was just okay. The butterfish for the bento is grilled, more similar to the Oahu version but a step below flavor wise and in freshness. Two of our fellow diners ordered the meal version of the butterfish which is prepared differently, seemingly steamed and coming with a dashi broth. I would likely order that over the bento one when visiting again. Dessert, shared 5. "Melting Hot" Chocolate cake (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=0&select=iuXdoxrXB2SjCZfRwV63ig) - Served hot from the oven with raspberry-vanilla swirl ice cream. This was delicious and there was no mistaking the cake was oozing and gooey with chocolate. Surprisingly, our party enjoyed this even more than the one at Hawaii Kai. The dining room was only about a third full, mostly couples enjoy the beautiful view of the beach and ocean, while many chose to dine outside with the beautiful late summer weather. Big thanks to Jesse who tended to our needs and offered menu suggestions. The gals at the hostess stand were very friendly in taking our group photos by the entrance. This was a great way to close our trip and glad to enjoy the view, atmosphere, and friendly service along with good food. Just temper your expectations if you're comparing it to the flagship in Hawaii Kai.

Roy's is never a bad choice. Food and service is always top notch. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We went with a big party and the downside is that they are not able to push tables together and had us at 3 tables next to each other.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Made the convos more personal but harder to interact with the whole group. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Also, it does get quite noisy in the main dinning area.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]But that's a plus for anyone with young kids.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Ask the Community - Roy's at Pebble Beach

Are jeans allowed as long as they are nice and we are dressed nicely?

    Absolutely no problem

Can we wear our golfing outfit if we are dining straight after playing, or will we need to change into a nicer outfit?

Of course, wear your golf clothes. Roy's is a nice, but not a pretentious restaurant. You will be totally comfortable in your golf attire.

Is the patio dining dog friendly?

Yes, but make sure to call and check how long the wait is, as they don't take reservations for the patio and it does fill up on weekends due to the gorgeous view. A couple that was behind us with a dog was told it was over an hour and a half wait on…

How often can you get a table by showing up without a reservation?

We showed up at the restaurant midweek around 2 PM and there were only 2-3 other tables occupied. We did not have a reservation. Cannot comment on peak lunch hour or dinner time.

    What is the dress code?

    Resort casual

    Is there a kids menu?

Yes. Ask your waiter & they'll either give you a paper one or tell you. I believe they have cheeseburgers, grilled cheese, pb&j

    Lobster roll in the menu?

There's a lobster sandwich on the current (updated July 1) lunch menu. It's not on the dinner menu.

I will say I enjoyed the pasta noodles here. It's a little thicker than spaghetti, and it had a sort of bouncy texture, if that makes sense. We also tried their fish and chips combo. I wish it came with more fries. We also tried their Fried Oysters on their seasonal menu. I was a little disappointed that it only came with three oysters. We had a party of 5, so I wished they had mentioned that when we ordered. Everyone was very nice here. Service was prompt. It is a bit pricey so be prepared for that. They also only have street parking. They have two single stall bathrooms. The one I went in had an issue with their soap dispenser. Overall I would come again. Every staff member we interacted with was smiling, welcoming, and genuinely kind. The customer service throughout our meal was excellent. The only reason I'm giving 2 stars is because of how my drink exchange was handled. I ordered the Razz Tini, took one sip, and it wasn't what I expected. To me, it tasted like cough syrup. I politely asked if I could exchange my $18 cocktail for something else and was initially told I would still be charged because it was the restaurant's policy. A manager then stepped in and graciously agreed to exchange the drink without charging me, which I appreciated. What left a bad impression was the explanation that customers "order at their own risk." While both gentlemen were pleasant and respectful, that statement didn't sit well with me. It reminded me of signs at the beach saying you swim at your own risk. If this is truly the restaurant's policy, I suggest adding it to the menu, perhaps near the notice about the 3% credit card processing fee, so guests know before ordering. The food, atmosphere, and service were all deserving of 5 stars. A more customer-friendly approach to drink exchanges and clearer communication of the policy would have made this a perfect experience.

Upon entry, we were heartily greeted by the owner and staff. There were only a couple tables left on the main floor as there was a large party of fifteen people seated in most of the main dining area. It was extremely loud with voices reverberating because of the gregarious group. The owner invited us upstairs to see if a high-bar table would be suitable. The table was quite small even though it overlooked the entire first level, so we declined as another table by the front windows had become available. The Charcuterie + Cheese board was a wonderful start to the evening. It consisted of prosciutto di parma, sopressata, duck prosciutto, bella vitano, triple cream brie, chèvre, almonds, and fig jam served with sliced grilled sourdough. Delish. We enjoyed their Sauteed Rock Cod entrée which consisted of pan-fried cod served with potato puree, artichokes + capers in a Meyer lemon brown butter sauce. The portion was of moderate size, and the dish was excellently prepared and plated. In addition, we had the Drunken Skillet Seared Octopus, which was a nice portion of octopus in a preserved black-bean honey sauce, along with Chef Jerry's seasoning. I recommend this starter as an appetizer or as a main entrée for a light appetite. All was quite delicious. This is an intimate venue for wonderfully prepared meal. The atmosphere of the restaurant is a little lacking which could account for the bad acoustic issue. The service is outstanding as the staff was attentive and watchful without interrupting the customer's dining experience. A serious negative would be that the restrooms are not located on the main dining level, and could pose a problem for patrons who need assistance. Food 4.9 Atmosphere 3.7 Service 4.9
