    Italian sub
    Larry W.

I had this place today for lunch, and my Italian sandwich was GREAT!!!!! The bread was fresh as well as the toppings. I added mayo to mine to take it over the top!! This is the first time I didn't have a picture for you guys but I'll definitely be back before I leave here!!! The customer service was top tier!!!! And there's so many sweet options you'll be overwhelmed!! The interior is also very clean. I had to double back for another sandwich before I left. I'm telling y'all this place is great. And I actually got a picture this time lol.

Bagels, pastries, and sandwiches! (Salads too!)

The staff had spunk and the options seemed endless. I ordered the a breakfast sandwich and the "wheel of fortune" sub. They were both okay. I prefer breakfast food so the breakfast sandwich I would order again. The "wheel of fortune" was a roast beef sandwich and just kind of bland. Pastries seem to steal the show. The display made you want to try one of each. I don't do sweets so can't attest to their taste, but the presentation was on point. Based on everything else in the area, I recommend this spot. The food is fresh and made to order. Can't say the same for your typical fast food joint. Also, there was a steady stream of customers so trust the locals! Clearly this spot has a GREAT reputation.

Forgive them for the blueberry and strawberry cream cheese. It isn't New York. But from the taste of the food it could be. Incredibly friendly people. Fancy baked goods. If I lived in the neighborhood I would Be here every morning.

Staff was so polite and efficient w their pace when it got busy. They took their time to be sure of the customers orders. Will definitely be coming again!

    Italian cookies, very good!

Great Italian bakery in Boliver. Cookies were fantastic, reminded me of growing up in Brooklyn. Also tried the pepperoni bread which was also excellent. Got some bagels but they were not boiled so they did not have to chew of a NY bagel but they were still very tasty..

So good! A friend recommended we check them out when in the area. So glad we did. We got donuts, chocolate cigar (requested by my little girl when she saw the pic on a review) and of course the cannolis! Yum! Can't wait to go back and try their sandwiches!

The inside gives an older coffee shop vibe and very family owned. The owner is incredibly kind and recognizes everyone that stops by. They have regular and everything bagels and you can get a breakfast sandwich with egg, cheese, bacon or sausage. The portion is huge and it's delicious. The everything bagel is full of flavor and super fluffy but also a layer of crisp. I had the pizza bagel both mornings we came and it was phenomenal. I still think about it and can't wait to come back. The portion is perfect and it also comes on an everything bagel. They also have a lox bagel and you can get bagels to go. Stopped here to grab some breakfast before hitting the road for the long drive home. We just wanted…read morea couple of bagels and some coffee, thought it would only take a few minutes but luckily we didn't have any coins smaller than quarters for the parking meter or we would have run out of time waiting. Walked in to the very small space and were told we needed to order online, so we got out our phones and scanned one of the many QR code signs posted on every surface anordered - two bagels, one with cream cheese and the other with butter. He confirmed he received the orders immediately- even before the payment had gone through. That seemed like a good sign. We waited and watched while he made salads and other orders for people who presumably ordered online before us, but didn't come in to pick up while we were there. Eventually he made our bagels, put them in cardboard baskets, covered them with aluminum foil (not sure why we needed that cardboard waste -- would have been happy with my bagel just wrapped in foil), covered them with paper towels, put them each in separate paper bags, and placed them on the counter while calling our names (even though we were the only people in the place and he had confirmed he knew who we were when he received the order). We took the bagels and walked across the street and got our coffees from the cute cat cafe with the friendly staff. Hit the road, and pulled out our bagels in the car. First bite was so bad that I tossed the rest of the bagel back in the bag... it was so crunchy it was more of a thick bagel chip, and shards of bagel stuck between my teeth like splinters. Certainly one-of-a-kind, I've never had another bagel like it. About 10 miles later I was hungry enough to get the bagel out and try again... this time I kneaded it through the aluminum foil a bit to bread it up first. It was still very crunchy and sharp, but there were some softer bits toward the middle. There wasn't much flavor, except where it was drenched in butter (and those bites tasted like butter, which isn't a bad taste I guess). TLDR, if you want bagels in Winchester WV skip this place and go to Sclafani's.

**** updated response to owner ***…read more I hear what you're saying about space and production limits, but that's exactly the point. If your setup can't support the volume and variety you're offering, then the issue is planning, not just space. Offering 16+ flavors while running out of plain bagels (or any bagels for that matter) before 10:30am isn't a demand anomaly, it's a mismatch between your menu and your capacity. Make fewer varieties, produce more of the basics, and you don't lose customers walking out. This isn't about comparing you to high-volume shops, it's about getting the fundamentals right. Plain bagels are the baseline. If those are gone, the rest of the menu doesn't really matter. End result is still the same, long wait, no product, lost sale. ***** Waited 12 minutes at Weird Dough Bagels this morning just to be told they were out of multiple bagels, including plain. Plain bagels... gone before 10:30am. If your concept is 16+ flavors, maybe figure out how to not run out of the one thing every single customer expects you to have. This isn't "high demand," it's bad planning. I'm from New York and I've never seen a bagel shop miss on basics like this. And in all the years going to Bodo's Bagels, I've never seen them run out of bagels, period. As a former café owner, running out of core items isn't quirky or artisanal, it's a failure. Walked out without ordering, about a $50 ticket lost because you couldn't manage inventory on the most basic product you sell. Do less, do it better. Right now it's neither.

I stopped by about an hour before closing, which may have impacted my experience. By that time, a lot of the bagels were already sold out. That said, the menu was very extensive with tons of bagel sandwich options and other items. There's also some indoor seating, and they sell a variety of snacks, drinks, and bottled waters--almost like a small convenience store. This definitely seems like a great spot for a quick breakfast on the go. The staff was friendly and welcoming, which I appreciated. One suggestion I'd make is to invest in paper menus or QR code menus--the menu was a bit hard to read, especially with so many options. I ordered three onion bagels to go, along with a container of plain cream cheese and a smaller chive cream cheese. Unfortunately, the bagels were disappointing. They were pretty hard and didn't have much onion flavor at all. On the bright side, the cream cheese was amazing--both the plain and chive were super creamy and flavorful, easily the highlight of my visit. I'd be willing to give this place another try, but probably closer to opening hours in hopes of getting fresher bagels. I can see why people like it, and I think timing really matters here.
