Was involved in an accident 1:40 am Saturday morning. Truck was towed to this place. Tow truck driver had this place card on hand. Long story short. John Barbosa tricked me into signing a work order, what I thought was just for the storage . ( I had only 2 hours of sleep and not really thinking ) Then when he found out that the insurance claim had been cancelled . He got mad ,saying I was paying for the tow and storage charges. I said I was. He went into his office and started calling me names. So when I called him a scammer , he lost it . He came back out and said he had a signed work order and that he wasn't releasing my truck to me. I said no problem , I'm calling 911. He went back into his office , by then 911 was calling me back. Told them what was going on and that if he doesn't release it , I will need the police here. He comes back out with the bill, but you can see all the changes in price . The 5 km tow went from 132.80 to 632.80 . The storage for 2 and a half days went from 100.00 to 203.40 . and the admin fees went from 30.00 to 56.50. For a grand total of 892.70 . Went to pull out my Visa ( which the door shows they accept ) and he said NO I want cash and the truck out of here by 4 , it was 12. Went to the bank got the cash. Then he was going to give me a receipt that wasn't marked paid or that it was cash . I made sure that was on it, and asked for the key fob . Was told it was in the truck . When CAA arrived , the fob wasn't in the truck , it was in his desk. Went back in for it , and he walked it out to the tow truck driver . I can't say if the original tow driver was in on this scam. But this John Barbosa is one to avoid at all cost . He will over charge the insurance company , or yourself . Not thing but a fraudster and scammer. read more
