Absolutely awful experience…read more Not only did I have to wait nearly 2 months for my shoes to be done, they did a terrible job. As you can see on the pic, the patent leather they used doesn't even come close to matching. On top of that, the leather was cut to a different width. When I pointed this out, they said "we didn't have that leather in stock". When I pointed out the mismatch in width, she just shrugged. Since I prepaid, I had to recourse. What I would have expected was that when they found they didn't have the right leather in stock to make the repair, they should have emailed me and told me that and asked me if I wanted to still go ahead. I also would have expected more than an "I don't care" shrug when I brought the defective work to their attention.

No problem, $8 and an afternoon at the cobbler always fixes them up perfectly. I took a pair of shoes to have re-stoppered (?) to Jericho Shoe Repair last year. The elderly gentleman did a quick repair and I was soon click-clacking my way around the office. Ten days passes and I start to hear that quiet tap of metal on tile that accompanies a worn-through stopper. I inspect the shoe to see the rubber has completely worn through. In 10 days. Having repaired a dozen pairs of shoes in this way over the years, I've never had a shoe fail on me so quickly. The runner-up clocks in at about three months. Something was obviously amiss so I returned with my shoes to Jericho Shoe Repair and explained that the shoes had barely been fixed before the right one had worn through again. Having seen an "if you're unhappy tell us" sign on the door, I was looking forward to a quick resolution. Instead, the cobbler presented me with a LAMINATED article about how terrible it is to walk in heels and then lectured me about how much weight was impacting on the heel when I walked. Firstly, I expected some kind of resolution. Instead I got a spiel on the thousand pounds of pressure I was inflicting on that heel. I left unhappy. Let this be a warning to others lest you too want to be served with the laminated, anti-heels article.

They were in rough shape( my own fault, should have brought them in sooner) Hugo was extremely excited when he saw my Italian made, dark brown , leather shoes. The heels were very worn out and beginning to almost crumble . The outer leather was beginning to separate from the sole on one shoe. Hugo said he would order in a leather patch for this part of the project. I brought the shoes in on June 19,2023 - they were ready yesterday, June 29. Total cost with tax $68.25. The shoes have been fully restored to their original condition. Hugo can seem a little rough in his manner ( he's not 21 years old!) but he sure appreciates the chance to work on quality shoes . The shop is in an older building ,looks like a typical shoe repair shop , with the smells of leather and shoe polish greeting you as you enter. Pictures of Columbia adorn the walls.

What's a girl to do... I'm walking in West End I hear this clicking sound that matches my pace…read more Ugh, I know that sound. Turns out my heel tips got DEVOURED by Gastown and I needed a repair on my only heels. I turn on yelp for desperation and found this particular spot with good hours and a lot of positive reviews. Definitely have to agree with the other reviews on this spot. Before I go into the work he did, I have to mention this is NOT easy to find. It's not in the ground level of the building or even the basement of the building...you have to go down TWO levels to the subway entrance to find this place. Just in front of the subway entrance are 2 stores and he's just on the right hand side. I went right after the rush hour so it was pretty quiet. With his quick eye, it was clear I just needed to replace the tips.... he quickly said just 10 minutes and to come back. I can't even go down the block in 10 minutes... especially on broken heels. Less than 10 minutes later, he's done... my shoes look shiny and the heels are done up! Great thing, I think it came up to $11 including tax. Pretty damn cheap for downtown in my views. I think I've replaced them for $15 USD in Chicago. Good news, I didnt have to go buy new shoes and I could still strut around the city NOT in my running shoes. I do find it funny that the material he used isn't marble tile friendly. When I walk around in them on those type of floors, I squeak a bit haha. Better than destroying my shoes I guess!
