As you walk inside, you immediately notice the long stainless steel counter where a man stands expertly filleting something as though it's no big deal. On either side of the room, large cases full of ice reveal a plethora of sea creatures. Salmon, Tuna, Octopus, Scallops...Conch. Yes, conch. It's exotic. It's exciting. It makes me want to learn to be a better cook. The first time I came in, an Italian-accented fellow in front of me was buying up calamari, scallops, and shrimp. I immediately pictured a delicious seafood risotto and my mouth started to water. I wasn't that ambitious myself, but walked out of there with a decent sized salmon steak ($7.99/pound the day I went) that took me two days to eat. (Not that this is necessarily desirable with seafood, next time I'll buy a smaller portion). My next trip in I opted for a tuna steak ($11.99/pound). Both times, it was delicious. Service was attentive, and they seated us in a corner where we could enjoy our family conversation without constant interruption. They were unfortunately out of a few fish and clam options, as well as several wines, but it did not take away from a great dinner.
