I have to say-I am dumbfounded by all the negative reviews of this hotel I believe they may have recently remodeled so that could be the difference. Every aspect of this hotel was wonderful starting with the low price and easy reservation system. I booked it through hotels.com and was able to complete some pre-registration info online before I arrived to make the check-in easier. They do charge a $50 deposit on your credit card in case of damages (which is pretty standard) The front desk staff was very friendly and I was happy to be told that the parking is free for guests staying at the hotel (when you arrive there is a gate to get into the parking lot, it looks like everyone has to pay, but that is not the case--just visitors and I believe restaurant goers have to pay for parking. So you take the ticket to open the gate and your room key after that acts as your entrance and exit to the parking lot. There was plenty of parking and the hotel was extremely clean. I was on the first floor which was upstairs one level from the lobby. There was a really nice area with a big table and comfortable chairs--an area to read or work on your computer-it looked very new and welcoming--I was able to do some work there after I checked out. The room was spacious, very clean and large! I had a King Size Bed a desk and a modern bathroom with what looked like new lights and a new shower. They even provided two mini water bottles free of charge-which was really nice. The hotel was quiet all night and was absolutely one of the best included hotel breakfasts I have ever had (so nice that this is complementary. Not only was there homemade yogurts and pastries as well as juice, coffee and cereals. There was also granola available as well as French Toast, eggs and home fries. Everything tasted fresh and was warm. Also toast was available as well as tea. The dining area was spacious and very clean--multiple tables to choose from to enjoy breakfast. For anyone that wants to be near NYC-this is one of the best bets, especially because it is very affordable! There is also a nice restaurant attached to the hotel (which I did not try) and it seems they do larger events as well like weddings and birthdays. All in all this was a 10/10 experience and I would stay here again in a heartbeat if needed. read more

My party! Had my 60th in the Diamond room and it was beautiful of course they don't give you any options other that white table cloths and chairs. It's up to the party planner to obtain the additional costs and set up yourself. The only complaint is the front desk and the event planner. The customer is spending money at your venue, so customer service goes a long way. Be nicer not have that attitude that we are bothering you. Kayla you know what I mean. Armando went above and beyond. The wait staff are very nice. When I asked for an additional hour because the weather made some guests late, Kayla said no, and that she asked me via email! No she didn't then she said that she spoke to the gm and he said yes at $1,000.00 for the hour plus additional guests. No problem we paid it. Just be nicer. read more

I've waited a full year to write this review in the hopes that the situation would be resolved, or at the very least acknowledged. Unfortunately, that never happened. Our stay at the Royal Regency last May could have been great -- the location was convenient, the on-site restaurant/bar was enjoyable, and breakfast was solid. But all of that was overshadowed by the fact that a wallet and another valuable item were stolen directly from our hotel room. We never left the premises, and the wallet had been placed on the front table of our room. There was no sign of forced entry, and no one else had access. It was clear to us that the items were taken during routine service or entry by hotel staff. The fact that nothing was returned or resolved in the time since is incredibly disappointing. The theft itself was unacceptable, but the lack of accountability is worse. It's hard to feel safe in a place where trust is so clearly broken. Unfortunately, we won't be returning -- not because of the location or the amenities, but because it's difficult to relax in an environment where your belongings aren't secure. At best, it's a serious breach of guest trust. At worst, it's something far more nefarious. read more

We held our church's 80th Anniversary Gala in the Diamond Ball Room at the Regency last weekend and everything was great. The food was great, the service was great and we received great reviews from all who attended. I have to give special kudos to Armando and Kayla and the staff at the venue. BE AWARE!!! THEY SOLD MY PAID ROOM TO SOMEONE ELSE AND LIED TO ME IN MY FACE!! STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! I had the worst experience of my life with this hotel. I made a booking through Expedia. I kept getting emails from this hotel even messages through Expedia until the last day telling me that I can still cancel my booking with no cancellation fee until the last 24 hours. Last day I got more emails to check in early. I had no time to check in early because my whole day was fully scheduled and I got to the hotel at midnight. I saw the parking lot was full because there was a party. I went to the front lobby to check in, when I'm being told that they are overbooked and there is no room for me. I'm obviously in a shock because I had a booking made in advance and it's been prepaid. How can something like that even happen ? It must be a joke! When I walk all day long I get so tired and exhausted and finally at 12am I get to the hotel, ready to sleep, this is the last thing that I would want to hear. I never heard anyone having such an experience anywhere in the US. They told me that they tried to call me and Expedia already knows about it and they have issued the refund already. Obviously nobody called me but how does any of that should make me feel any better ? They were really rude and unprofessional. I'm exhausted ready to sleep and now I have to look for a new hotel room in the middle of the night in the weekend when every hotel is already fully booked ? I'm pretty sure that my room was sold to someone who was attending to the party they had and they were able to charge more or they just got paid off to give my room away and they probably hoped I wouldn't show up. Obviously when I contacted Expedia they had no idea about it, in fact I received emails from them to review my experience with the hotel where I supposedly stayed at. They told me they have to get in touch with the hotel which they did right away but only next day were able to confirm that what I say is true and indeed I never even slept in their hotel. I would not recommend this hotel. I booked a room in hotels.com put down a deposit and chose to pay the remaining balance when I check in. They charged my credit card two days before the date and charged my card the total amount without subtracting the deposit. This is an interesting place - it's like it's not sure what it is supposed to be. Is it a business center? Is it a sorta nice place to have a wedding? I really want to give this hotel a zero but it won't allow me. I booked a room at this hotel only to find someone was in my room sleeping. The staff was even so confused about what to place. It was late at night and they wasn't able to get the person out of the room so I left and then within 10 minutes they're gonna call me and tell me they have an available room. I don't want the room. I'm good. I spoke to the manager the next day and he was like so rude very dismissive. All he could say was I gave you a refund. I'm still waiting on my "refund." It's more like a motel than a hotel. Decrepit. I stayed here two days for a wedding being held downstairs. This hotel lacks so many factors that are important for guests like me. My whole stay cost close to $500 and nothing was worth this much. The elevator was shared with guests and employees which was fairly incompetent. This hotel could be compared between a motel and hotel but more towards a motel. I stayed in the Westchester Suite and when I came in it was pretty but there's always that gut feeling where something appears to be clean yet it feels dirty. That's the exact feeling I felt upon entering the room. I sat on the toilet and almost cut my butt because it slipped off. The bolts weren't attached completely and it was very hazardous. I had to call maintenance to the room, making me wait over an hour for a working toilet seat. The room appeared completely worn down and everything looked used and over abused. On top of that, I went to pull out the sofa bed... crazy. The sofa bed wasn't made like it's supposed to and once I called for linens and pillows to be delivered to the room I had to wait an hour. Many five star hotels I've gone too ALWAYS have linens, pillows and a blanket in the closet. I also ordered a cot and didn't get it until the next day so I slept very uncomfortably. Most of what I expect from a hotel comes from what my mother has taught me. One of them being her working as an executive manager in hospitality. I wanted to like this place, but the room they gave me felt like a run down motel room. It was all the way at back of the hotel, and it felt so eerie. Most noted, the wall paper was peeling and there was mysterious stains on the wall. One of the curtain was also not working. I worked in a hotel before, and I was just very disappointed. I understand that the rooms need to be filled; however, if I knew that the room was in poor shape, I never assigned certain rooms to customers. So my family and I stayed there the week of Christmas. I must say we LOVED our stay. Huge parking lot with a ton on convenient parking. The staff was so accommodating. Great breakfast every morning. Highly recommend the breakfast. Very clean rooms and the hospitality was great. The best part was the location. It's located in Yonkers, close to Tuckahoe which is a very nice small town. In the past 6 months things have changed here.... people smoke cigarettes and weed in their rooms non-stop and it comes in through the vents. It's disgusting. Ive had to switch rooms, call downstairs several times. The hallways smell like cigarette smoke. It use to be better but lately these guest do whatever they want. I immediately heard loud boning in the hallway. People were loud, coming and going, one guy knocked on our door and look freaked out when he realized we weren't buying his drugs. We were driving from North Carolina and stayed there last night. BIG mistake. We got Teo rooms and after the long drive we all wanted to get cleaned up and get food. 1. The hot water didn't work at all in 1 room and only worked in the other after running the water for 20 minutes!! 2. At breakfast the next day we showed up an hour before it was over. We were told to hurry as they were closing soon. I'm in the service industry and I know that's not the thing you ever say to a guest. The late night staff was ok but right before them the staff seemed like we were bothering them when we'd ask a question. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone. read more

Attended a wedding at the Royal Regency Hotel on Sunday and can state unequivocally that it was the WORST wedding experience ever! First, there were two venues happening at the same time. Asked an employee about the reception I was attending and his answer was a shrug of the shoulders . Ok... second employee I asked was slightly better and pointed to two doors on opposite ends of the hallway and said it has to be in one of those rooms. Now my biggest pet peeves.... 1. The servers were unprofessional, inattentive, and inexperienced. When I arrived at the table, was greeted several minutes later with- Hey, you want something to drink? The server looked all of 18 if that. His service and tone resembled the service you would expect at a fast food restaurant. I asked for a glass of wine - which I never got. Finally, had to ask another server who brought me warm wine which should have been chill. Most of the servers looked like high school students! 2. I ordered my prime rib WELL DONE what I got was a bloody, rare entree. Let the server know his response - Don't worry that is how the cook prepares it. WTF - needless to say that entree was left untouched as most of the meals were at our table. See pic! The food was just horrible including the sides which consisted of boxed mash potatoes and over cooked carrots and asparagus. 3. There were too few servers to handle the party so the ones on the floor looked frazzled and disorganized. A guest in our table asked for another fork since the one on the table was dirty. Had to ask 3 times until he got his fork to eat his food which after one bite he said he was better off not having a fork to eat the food- lol There were two other guests at our table who received the wrong meal asked for salmon got the chicken dish instead, water glasses were not refilled, and clearing the plates off the table took a long time. 4. The MC tried her best but some of her comments and jokes were inappropriate for a wedding ceremony. The DJ was somewhat entertaining but his music transitions need some serious help. 5. The bartenders were approachable but unfortunately mixologist they were not. The drink I had to get myself at the bar was awful. Asked for a rum and orange juice got pineapple juice instead. My date ordered vodka and cranberry juice what he got tasted like rum with juice. 6. During the cake serving and chocolate fondue outside in the patio - employees were eating off the serving plates while arranging the platters. One server accidentally bumped into another worker and let's just say that the curse words that came out of his mouth was appalling. Plus, they served carrot cake that still had parchment paper attached. YUCK! 7. The bathroom had NO toilet paper in two out of the three stalls. And, the sink area was wet and looked dingy. I don't know if there was another bathroom for the reception hall? I would NEVER come to any event held here again! Please if you are considering hosting a wedding or a special event here DON'T do it. You and your guests should be spared this ordeal. Instead of coming home tonight with good memories, I am drinking ginger ale to calm my upset stomach and writing this review. All the negative reviewers are spot on. If you value safety, this is not the hotel for you. The person that greeted me upon check-in could not be bothered to keep their mask covering their nose. The same for the waitress in the breakfast buffet. I decided not to eat where an employee without a mask covering their nose decided to breathe all over the food. To make matters worse THERE WAS NO HOT WATER in the room. Though the front desk was notified in the evening upon check-out the issue had not been resolved. To make matter worse, the manager that I called said that it was his "day off" and he could not respond to the issue as a result in a timely manner. I really wanted to like this hotel. The service was great. Only time I had a problem was when I requested to change rooms and the gentleman at the front desk basically denied me. The reason I wanted to change was because I could hear the neighbor's conversation, and they were not being obnoxious just talking normal. In response to my request was that all the rooms had thin walls. Rooms were nice but felt dirty. The beds were clumpy. They had no King size beds. The Keurig cups had a good choice. Furniture looked like they were from a garage sale. No room views. The continental breakfast moved rating from a 2 star to a 3 star. Again service was nice and friendly. Stayed here because I attended a wedding at this venue. There were several problems with the room itself and the service that make it *not* worth the $199 price tag we paid for the room. 1) The hotel is awkwardly located off of a busy road. The parking lot seems to run out for hotel guests when there are events and all that is left is valet parking. 2) Our television remote batteries were completely dead. We called the front desk, and they said they would send someone with a replacement; however, no one ever came. Later, we went to the front desk and asked three people about the remote. No one had any batteries or could help us. How could you be a functioning hotel and not have spare batteries? We were able to turn the TV on and off once every so often (after about 20 presses on the button), but because the batteries were dying, we couldn't change channels, adjust volume, etc. 3) The noise in the room is a problem. I left the event around 10 pm, but it went till about midnight. The sound from the event was pulsating throughout the room. I was reading the hotel makes it a policy to not have events run past midnight to be respectful of guests, but you should be respectful of your guests at ALL times. 4) We were on the second floor, yet our view was a basement-level view of the road outside. If you opened your curtains for some light, the people across the street can look into your room. Also, the window was dirty on the inside and there was peeling paint. 5) The bathroom/room set-up was horrible. The bathroom has sliding panels that you can open and look out into the room. The problem is, if you use the bathroom in the middle of the night, the light from the bathroom shines into the room, disturbing any sleeping guests. What is the point of sliding panels? So you can watch the broken TV while you take a leak? Furthermore, the shower floor had mold growing on the edges. 6) We found bugs in our room. 7) The ironing board was broken. I was retrieving something from the closet and it almost fell on me because the latch was broken. 8) Lastly, I came across some videos on Instagram. Just search "Royal Regency Hotel" in the Instagram "Places" search, scroll a bit for stuff in May/June and see for yourself. I gave them an extra star because the catering staff at the event was nice. Upon checkout, no one even bothered to ask us how our stay was or if there were any issues. Currently staying at this hotel. Rooms are modern and nice. Refrigerator & Keurig machine in room. I'm not a coffee lover, this Keurig won't allow us to get plain hot water -- that's a problem for me, I can't make tea. Worst problem is the WiFi only works in the lobby. We're on the second floor, rooms to the right once off the elevator and there's a signal at the door and that's it. False advertising regarding the "free WiFi". Staff is really friendly. Other than that walls are really thin and bathroom isn't much privacy. Had a hard time sleeping 2 nights. First night because of yelling and talking and second night because of a couple having intercourse all night. Hotel should invest in thicker walls and better bathroom privacy. So, my previous review was a good experience. This time is all about the cleanliness. I needed to use the restroom in the lobby. My biggest pet peeve is a gross bathroom. There was no toilet paper in any of the stalls. It was dirty! Urine and feces in the toilets. When I told the front desk, I was told they had a busy night and it would be cleaned in the morning. This hotel was just OK, it's located close to the mall about 2 miles or so but you'll have to drive or get an uber ($7-8). The hotel is a little dated as far as the interior but it serves it's purpose. We had a double queen room witch was very small it had no room between the bed and the window, a kid could get stuck back here. I like how they have made the bathroom doors like sliding doors to cover the closet, but you can see into the bathroom from the main room if the door is not closed tight and they were hard to get closed all the way. They had an elevator that was a little small and somewhat claustrophobic if that is a way to describe an elevator, but it was a basic place to lay our head. The best part about the hotel is the breakfast. They have a good selection and real eggs, the hostess was friendly. Overall I would choose a different hotel but we were here for a family event. read more

Don't get caught up in how pretty this place look! Looks are deceiving. Imagiane being a bride and you have set up everything six months pryer, and come to the hotel twice, two weeks before your wedding to finalaze everything. Yet, when you arrive the bridal suite you were promised was given to another bride. This is what happened to the bride August 25, 2018. They switched her room twice and her things were everywhere. The hotel had two things going on Saturday night, knowing they had a wedding the next day Sunday, August 26, 2018 at 1:00. pm. You would think they would have had staff ready and availavle to clean very early Sunday morning. That did not happen, they begin to clean at 11:00 am. This gave the family & the corridinator no time at all to get things ready for the wedding! Let's not forget, the bride does not have a bridal suite, her make-up artist has arrived, her bridemaids need to get ready and now the photographer has now arrived! The bride finally gets a suite much smaller than promised. She has eight bridemaids, and maid and matron of honor. One of the rooms the air condition wasn't working properly. It was horrible! They made the best out of it, and tried to keep our bride in good spirits. So I have everyone in the family, all hands on deck trying to prepare for the ceremony and the reception, with a wedding that starts in hours and the cleaning staff is still valcuming at 11:30 -12:00. The wedding starts at 1:00. Horrible Service! This is the best part, you would think that the staff would have given her more time for her reception due to all the screw ups. No way, in fact they demanded that the bridal party get down stairs in a timely manner because the bride changed her dress and it took some time. The manager goes up stairs and ask them to come down stairs now, yells in the coorinators face telling her to get her people down stairs now, becuse they are taking too long. This reception is OVER at 7:00 sharp no exeptions due to the contract! I begged this man to give this family more time due to everyting that happen. Yet, the staff begin to take apart her party at 7:15. Removing everything off the tables and the chairs, it was not only embarrassing but just aweful! She also had a contract but it was not honored. Never use the Royal Regency Hotel in Yonkers for a venue! Got here early due to a cancelled tour...told that we had to pay to check in early to our room--which is apparently ready if they're willing to charge us for a room that will be empty until 3pm when we can check in without being penalized for early arrival. So they show us into the empty/closed restaurant. I suppose we can just sit in here until 3pm. Honestly....this hotel doesn't seem very hospitable. 4 hrs to check in to a room that's ready. That's silly. We can sit in the restaurant for free, but the room? If you want to attract new customers, try supporting your Groupon campaign discount with excellent customer care? Train your staff to speak to guests at every encounter....What happened to hospitality? UPDATE: this hotel management is as tone deaf as United Airlines. WE PREPAID YET WE STILL LEFT DUE TO THE INHOSPITALITY. Your operating procedures are inhospitable. Your $75 early check in fee cost you far more. Stop nickel and diming your customers. We went to a Sheraton in midtown Manhattan, got there before 11am and we were in our room in 5 minutes--despite being there 4 hrs ahead of check in. No charge. THAT'S hospitality. Another perfect example of "you get what you pay for." This "3.5 Star" Hotwire establishment might deserve said rating in another galaxy....in the Metro NY area, the VERY cheesy (albeit modern and newish) decor and apparent utter lack of understanding what's actually desirable in a somewhat "upscale" hotel make me question said rating. The entire room felt as though someone with a certain, arguably potentially tasteful vision had gone to IKEA, decided IKEA was still too expensive and then ended up buying third world copies of said products to execute the idea. That said, check in staff was very friendly and efficient. The restaurant managed to reopen the "already closed" kitchen to serve me; kudos for accommodating me, though what was served was below even "fast food" standards. In short, a bit of a caricature of the "boutique hotel" this place bills itself as, but not bad at all at the going rate on hotel booking sites. read more

I'll keep it short, my check in they didn't have the initial room I booked. They put me in a room that didn't have any toiletries. Seriously took 3 hours to get shampoo!!! No joke, and it wasn't like a busy time at all, it took 3 hours. The following morning I turned the AC on because it was humid in my room, half an hour later gnats covered my entire room, see pics, and video! The GM felt bad but offered the minimal, as in only charging me for the two nights I was booked for four. He seemed empathetic but not enough to think that it was a huge burden for us. Don't think he felt that it was necessary to make things right, didn't try to make sure of getting us another hotel, or thought of our well being. Thanks. read more
