I'm torn like my thumb! I came in for valentine's I made an appointment in the morning for the early evening. This was my first set in 18 years! I never get to treat myself. I was sat down with a gentleman. He started my nails. He asked me what I wanted and gave me a pallet for polish. I asked if they could use the magnet to create a heart; they can't . I picked my color. But swapped to a woman who pulled my skin from the glue which tore my skin. These take forever to heal! She was over zealous with filing my thumb and took to much off on the left. So it does bother me it not being even. This place came highly recommended by a few people. Who come regularly. I will give them a shot to redeem themselves. I am not happy about the skin tear! It hurts! Well vibe, the shop pedicure chairs are at the ceiling. . I don't know what would classify as clean. I know they reuse buffers and in the chair that I was sitting at for the manicure there was buffers like stuffed under on my side, not their side I thought that was a little weird. read more

Buyer beware. Stopped in to get a manicure and dip. The young female tech who can not speak English properly removed the old dip and broke any remaining nails I had (4). One she ripped into the nail bed. That nail was long before she did that. The nail was bleeding. The manager finished the dipping and charged me the full rate even though I was clearly damaged by the young woman. As I walked out the door another customer was upset because the older woman who also can not speak English for cutting her lovely natural nails too short. I don't get all the harsh reviews of this place. I have a salon I visit religiously for my acrylics, but moved to Wasilla and needed to find a closer shop. Royal Nails has a convenient location right off the highway. It wasn't terribly busy and I was able to come in for a walk-in appointment on a Monday at 4:30 and was promptly seated. I had some lifting that needed to be addressed, as well as three nail repairs. The technician suggested a new set, which I agreed to wholeheartedly as I felt the tips I was fit with and had filled once after were a little small for my nail bed. The visit took an hour, and wow! I am impressed. I keep my nails long but still wish for a more "natural" looking set: i.e. formed appropriately and not too thick. They look absolutely lovely. The length of each nail is consistent on both hands, the nails aren't thick and the shellac was applied quickly, accurately, and without any bubbles or smudges. My cuticles look immaculate. I will get my infills here and perhaps search for a new salon just to compare around the area when I need a new full set. But I am very very very impressed with the service, quality, and prices. The important thing to also consider when reviewing a nail salon is how you care for your nails afterwards and how you use your hands. Gloves, cuticle oil, keeping your hands dry as possible are all essential parts to maintaining what a skilled nail technician does in the salon. Very impressed as a religious acrylic wearer for years, and would recommend this place to anyone. read more

Absolutely the worst quality acrylic nails I have ever gotten! After 4 days of having them they started to lift off my nails, acrylic was cracking of the sides and bubbling underneath. They repaired them for free but 2 days after the repair they started lifting again! Awful!! Won't do this again! The young man texted the whole time he was with me. The bowl of water to soak my hands had cold water! My nails were done in less than 10 minutes, very little attention given and cut the skin on one finger while filing! Then he asked if I wanted lotion. I said yes and he put a little bit on each hand and didn't bother to rub in! No hand and arm massage like all the other salons! A bad day for him? Or a really bad attitude! I went in for a nice Mother's Day pedicure with my mom and it was a terrible idea. They sat us pretty immediately which was nice, but then left me to soak in lukewarm water for an hour while they started on my mom. When the nail tech did start mine, she did not even bother to fully remove the old dark gray polish before sloppily applying a light red- you can totally see the old polish shining through. The tech also painted all over my toes and was obviously rushing to finish because they had other people sitting for a long period of time too. My "deluxe pedicure" finished at the same time as my mother's and they started hers a solid 30 minutes prior to mine. My toes were cut in several places and the owner is just so obnoxiously rude to everyone. Definitely lost a customer. read more

The most painful pedicure experience I have ever had in my life! The man hardly spoke English so I don't know if he understood me when I said that he was hurting me. He was so rough with my nails that I thought maybe he had a bad day and was taking it out on my poor toes. I came in with long toe nails and before I could say anything he starting cutting them short, and when I say short I mean below my toes. When he did my cuticles he was so rough he made me bleed on multiple toes. I was so uncomfortable I had a knot in my stomach the whole time. I came in with someone else and we started at the same time and I was done ten minutes before she was done. It was not even busy, we came in Thursday at 1:00. I went here in a great mood as a little gift to myself to have my acrylics filled in. I was very polite to the man but he was very rude to me and not welcoming at all. I've seen other reviews complaining about the same man and I suggest he either treats customers as people or get a different job that doesn't involve any socializing. My nails turned out pretty but with smudges and an unpolished stroke in a couple nails, they could have been much better. read more

Beware sub-optimal rushed attention to customers I paid $35 for a 10 minute pedicure the guy kept walking away did not massage but for a second and did a foot scrub maybe three or four strokes it's the worst pedicure I've ever had. As I was receiving my 10-minute pedicure my 11 year old sat down for what I thought was going to be a manicure instead he just painted her nails and told her she didn't need a manicure. Do not ever go there for a pedicure! Worst one ever! My nail polish was ripped off with tweezers and my nails were torn off in the process. No trimming of nail cuticles or around the nail, water was cold, very hurried job. I won't be going there again. read more

Last week I had a pedi here and they really damaged my feet. They used both the pumice stone and another callus remover. It left groves and even made me bleed, I'm still trying to heal, but with this weather they keep cracking at the site. (The rest of my foot was also raw) Called the owner, and his response was just put cream on it.....No apology I will not go back to them again. read more

My nails looked good in my opinion, aside from one crooked nail along with nail polish still on my fingers. I don't get my nails done often. The guy that did them had such a bad attitude, he kept yanking on my hands so aggressively. When I first walked in, the woman that greeted me made feel extremely unwelcome from the get-go. I told her I would like a full set and I had to ask, "is that okay?" Not satisfied what so ever with the older male who did my acrylic fill. They quoted me on the phone $25, and I ended up paying $36. He did not have a welcoming attitude throughout the whole experience that he rushed through. When my nails were drying, I accidentally nicked my nail on the lamp. I then told him, he seemed annoyed and picked the wrong color to brush over it, I informed him that's the wrong color. I grabbed the one which I thought was correct (didn't help that their colors on the wall are unorganized and scattered) and after he painted it on, it dried and once again was not the color of my other nails. He got upset with me and said "well you picked the color, how do you not know?" We had an appointment for 3 kids and 2 adults. We get there and first off they wanted to seperate the adults from the kids ( my daughter is 2) so i pointed to 5 seats together and said can we sit there instead. I was greeted with eye rolls and attitude. They then proceeded to make me soak my feet in ice cold water, after sevral complaints they they turned the water up super hot and burned me. If we didnt have 3 kids i wouldve left! They also forgot to put my top coat on my nails until after my shoes were on and i was standing up, the lady came running over to do it. The only way to be satisfied is if you choose one plain color, all their colors are bland. He got glue all over my fingers, and the paint job is bad. Also he just didn't have any patience with me.
