I got a dip manicure and that was okay. The lady did a good job but my friend had an awful experience. The lady filed on her cuticles causing her pain. Her skin around her nails is red and raw. My friend was planning on getting no chip but switched to regular polish. The lady did a sloppy job and the paint was thick and flooding her cuticles. Will never return.

This is by far the best and most professional nail salon you will find in the Greater Rockford…read moreregion. How do I know? I have been to dozens over the years and found the service to be subpar and many of the nail techs unable to communicate well for one reason or another (language barrier, rude, etc.). I ended up with single color polish at these places and never a complicated designs...:( Often the quality was poor at other salons as well, unfortunately. Fortunately for me, I discovered Lavish Nail Bar. At LAVISH, I have been impressed for well over five years now. Most of the techs here that I have seen do gorgeous nails for everyone--and they make sure they are doing what you want along the way. They all speak English as a first language OR speak very fluent English to where you can have a full conversation (if you want) while you get your nails done. This place is clean and makes every customer wash their hands at the start of the appointment to limit the spread of germs. What a great idea! They definitely have a strong cleaning protocol, as this is a clean salon. Their vent system works good too, as I am sensitive to fumes and don't have problems here. This is not a salon that smells bad or strong like chemicals one bit. I always make appointments and get served right away. However, they do accept walk-ins. I see many walk-ins get serviced within a few minutes or right away. If it is a busy time of year or the weekend, this might not be true. I always go during the week in the afternoons and see almost everyone get in after a short wait or no wait. They are popular though so I would always suggest an appointment. The owner and his wife manage a PROFESSIONAL nail salon. They are such a great duo. Their employees all seem to have fun and are happy to be there. I have seen many of the same faces working there for years, and many, many repeat clients so they must be doing something right! If anyone one stars this place, they must have extremely unrealistic expectations and give every other nail salon in town negative stars b/c I don't see how it is possible to rate this salon anything but a 5 or a 4 (if you have any constructive criticisms to offer). However, they have been in operation for years now. They know what they are doing. The owner seems to know everyone by name as they walk in the door. I am so impressed. This is a very courteous, respectful salon that goes above and beyond to make their customers happy. How good is this place? I have had people recognize the owner's work on my nails. "Do you go to Lavish?" they ask me. I have had dozens and dozens of people ask me where I get my nails done and many I have referred to Lavish (and they go back!). There are not many places around here that can turn an idea or design you find online into something as good or better than the picture you bring in (please note that this applies to the owner who has been doing nails for many years and is at the top of the game. I see the other nail techs do amazing, complicated designs too, but I can only speak for the complexity factor that the owner offers- who is a true artist and creative genius to be able to imagine in his head all the layers involved for some of the hardest designs that he has pulled off with flying colors. He only books himself by appointment (as far as I know) but even if he is not able to personally do your nails, I have seen him inspect the work of the other techs to maintain a high-quality standard, and I rarely see anyone leaving with a plain jane design (unless simple is what they were wanting). He has trained his techs well and I have seen some shadow his work even. I have witnessed them do nails for children, the elderly, and the disabled. I have not seen people complain. Just happy people leaving with fresh pedicures/nails. They are respectful to women and minorities here. They have a diverse clientele and a diverse staff. Everyone (without an attitude problem) should feel welcomed here!

My nails turn out perfect every time. I've been coming consistently for months and can say that it's not a fluke. Everyone here does a good job and is so kind. I hadn't had a pedicure in forever and needed to unwind a bit and do something for myself. I was…read morelooking around the area for nail salons open on a Sunday afternoon and stumbled upon Q. I was surprised they were open so late on a Sunday, wanted a pedicure, checked their reviews online, and decided to give them a shot. I've driven by their business for years so I decided that today was the day! They closed at 5 p.m. so I was hoping they would allow me to get a pedicure as late as 3:45 p.m. and they were happy to take me! I was welcomed as soon as I walked in by a nice gentleman and asked to pick my color. It was busy for a Sunday evening so I waited about 10 minutes up front before being seated in the pedicure chair. I then soaked for another 10 minutes while waiting for an available nail tech. Again, I was in no rush and more concerned about their time and not mine. The spa is pretty typical of local places I've stopped in as far as decor. It was clean and techs were actively cleaning and working the entire time I was there. I wish I had gotten my nail techs name because she was nothing short of professional and amazing. She greeted me promptly and asked my name and if I had been there before. I hadn't and she said that I would enjoy it and she would love for me to just relax. That is a pretty huge departure from most nail spas where I'm usually treated like just another number. I was already pleased and at ease by this point. I opted for the $37 pedicure (can't remember the actual menu name) and my sweet nail tech got started. The sea salt exfoliation, paraffin treatment, and accompanying massages were the best I've ever had in a nail salon. My tech was concerned about my comfort level and told me to let her know if something she did hurt or if the treatments were too hot or rough. No concerns there because everything was perfect! She did a phenomenal job of shaping my short toenails and painted them to perfection. She clearly wanted everything to be the best for me and make a great impression. Mission accomplished! I generally never get a manicure due to the nature of my work, but they offered me one even though they were done for the day. I politely declined, however I will be back! They have a large service menu and I'd love to try the facial and facial waxing someday. All in all a great experience! I'll definitely give them a shot again! My nails look great and I have felt totally relaxed all day after my awesome experience.
