Perfectly sauced & fresh mozzarella & basil. The cheese is real quality cheese (you know how "chewy" cheap cheese can be, like chewing gum. Its a pet peeve of mine, I can spot cheap cheese a mile away, this is QUALITY cheese) and the sauce is definitely a show stopper, very fresh! The garlic knots are perfectly seasoned, garlicky & nicely "bready" (soft & pillowy) We got the thin pizzas to go but my husband grabbed a slice out to try & it was so good he ate 3 slices on the way homeso thin with crispy cheese on the edges & it was perfectly sauced & topped with their delicious cheese all in the right proportions. We're going back on Wednesday to get a Sicilian pie (gonna grab another slice or 2 of the grandma pie to eat while we wait) It's worth the drive from Nutley to Parsippany, the food is that good & we live in an Italian town full of pizzarias. Didn't get a picture of the grandma slices, we were too hungry & they were too good! The owner, Johnny, is so friendly & just a great guy. The restaurant has a simple decor but enough special touches to set a Pakistani vibe. They have both booth and table seating. The restaurant is very clean. There is but one attendant that fills the roll of both waiter and cashier. After ordering we were presented with complimentary garlic naan and a green salad with yogurt. My son ordered the "Mixed Platter" ($17) which was huge and ended with a take-out box and a meal later in the week. The platter consisted of of 2 lamb kabobs, 2 chicken kabobs and the best biryani rice I ever tasted. I find their spices intoxicating. I ordered the "Goat Achari" ($16). The goat was cooked with spices and additionally flavored with pickles. The goat meat was marinated and fell of the bone. I could have eaten 2 bowls. The chai tea was anything but sweet and came with sugar for people like me that like their tea a bit sweet. The restaurant has street parking as well as on-site parking.

But I was craving Pakistani food the other night and we weren't anywhere we could cook so I started looking for a place in the area that we were staying when I found this restaurant on Yelp after visiting some breweries in and around the area. So I was like, Let's try it out! She agreed and we drove that way. So we walked in maybe 30 minutes or so before closing and placed a to go order because we didn't want to sit down and be rude by keeping them there after closing. The employees were nice and spoke to my girlfriend in Urdu so I have no idea what they were saying tbh. lol. I just know she ordered several things and I was excited to try them all. I stepped away to use the bathroom while she was doing her thing and when I came back out and I noticed it is a very clean place and decorated very nicely. So we went to the car and waited for maybe 15-20 minutes before the food was ready. We left and the food smelled so good on the drive back to the hotel. I was so pumped to eat it. She ordered: - Palak paneer 4/5 - Chicken kebab 3/5 - Basmati Rice 4/5 - Garlic naan 4/5 - Mutton gosth kharhi 3/5 - Keena paratha 4/5 - Gulab jamun 4/5 The food was good but not as good as hers or her mother's. Theirs is really really good! :D The palek paneer was my favorite. The chicken kabobs were okay just a little dry and lacked flavor. The garlic naan was pretty good. The mutton gosth kharhi was decent but this was my first time having it since I rarely ever eat meat, so I can't really compare it to anything I've had. I loved the keena paratha, but it was a little too oily. The rice was good. The gulab jamun was very tasty. This place is good and it's in a cool area on a cool street. Would I come again? Absolutely! It's good food and good service, especially considering it was take out. Shukriya!

Cocktails were pretty good too - some a little on the sweet side but, again, somethin' for everyone theme throughout. Tonight we enjoyed the risotto as an appetizer and the beet salad - both delicious. Some others in our party had the mushroom soup - tasty and a huge portion. For entrees, my wife asked them to make an off-menu gnocchi bolognese and they obliged - and she was quite pleased with it. I had the gnocchi special with chunks of short rib - impossible to ever go wrong with anything with short rib! Very tasty! Our friends had a variety of pasta and veal dishes - the veal chop special was Wow! All enjoyed their choices. We skipped on dessert because everyone usually climbs into my SUV "bus" for ice cream somewhere nearby. The adventure continues! This is a rough business. It's so hard for a single restaurant to stay in business for this long but Eccola has stayed relevant in an uber-competitive North Jersey market. Eccola means "Here She Is!". Apparently, here she remains! Salute!!

NOTE: the beef ribs that everyone's talking about are sliced short ribs. Don't think those big bone beef ribs you get at American BBQ joints. Devil is in the details. What made this place a 3, star is that the staff doesn't introduce the menu and items well. For example, I got the beef ribs with vegetables and sweet plantains (both VERY good btw), they failed to explain that there are SPICY PICKLED VEGETABLES THAT GOES WITH IT. I took a bite of the cauliflower thinking it was the vegetables side, and spat it right out because it's the Portuguese style pickled veggies. If someone didn't eat spicy that would definitely mess them up. Ambiance? None, it's basically a small bodega with 3 pairs of booth seats and 5 bar seats. How is it colder in the restaurant than outside (it is currently March)

It's actually more of a meal-delivery app that serves made-to-order dishes for lunch, dinner, or whenever you're hungry. somehow i was under impression that - as it says that it has food hall concept, it would have seating like the ones you see in malls or upscale shopping centers. I even saw this building while driving to work -- it's decent in size, so my assumption felt justified. But when I visited yesterday, I realized how wrong I was. The space has just 2-3 tables and can accommodate maybe 10-12 people at most and large kitchen area preparing those dishes from 25 restaurants. Definitely not designed for dine-in -- the focus is clearly on delivery and pickup. You can order from kiosks, and they offer menus from over 25 different restaurants, including some really well-known names. Here's what we ordered: * Tortiglioni Pomodoro from Alazna (a pasta dish) * Fried Chicken Sandwich & Fries from Streetbird * Zesty Chicken Bowl from Yasas by Michael Symon The burger and pasta were both really good, but the chicken bowl- was served cold -- I had expected something warm, like Chipotle-style, so that was a bit disappointing. Overall, the concept is great, but now that I know the wonder is not designed for 'relax- sit and eat', I'd definitely stick to delivery or pickup in the future.
