FRAUD ALERT: Designer Appliances Sold Us a Defective Refrigerator as "New"
We purchased a Monogram refrigerator from Designer Appliances, expecting a brand-new, luxury appliance. Instead, we received a damaged, possibly refurbished unit--knowingly misrepresented as new. What happened next reveals a disturbing pattern of fraud, deception, and collusion between Designer Appliances and Monogram.
The refrigerator arrived without factory packaging or a box. When I asked where it was, I was told: "We cut it and threw it out."
This is highly unusual for a "new" appliance and a major red flag that this product was never in proper new condition.
Inside, the top-right interior wall was melted and warped -- a clear manufacturing defect. We found random hardware Self-Drilling Screws into the drawer, with no explanation or purpose, indicating improper assembly and strongly suggesting the unit was refurbished or previously returned.
Both Designer Appliances and Monogram ADMITTED the defect was from the factory. But instead of correcting the issue, they refused to replace the unit, endlessly blaming each other to avoid responsibility.
A Monogram technician came to inspect the fridge. He verbally confirmed the defect, yet his official service report falsely claimed the unit was "working as designed." He never even turned the unit on -- this is an outright falsification of documentation.
Later, we received an email from Monogram saying it was "only cosmetic," but also admitted it "should not have arrived like this." Their story contradicts itself -- further proof of bad-faith behavior.
They knowingly sold a defective or refurbished refrigerator at full retail price, falsely advertising it as new.
They tried to force us to keep it, saying "Yes, it's a factory defect, but it's working."
This is a coordinated fraud, and their treatment of us has been exploitative, dishonest, and abusive.
Their behavior is not just poor service--it is deceptive, unethical, and potentially criminal. This is consumer fraud, and we are now pursuing formal legal action.
DO NOT trust Designer Appliances. If you're investing thousands in high-end appliances, stay far away from this company. They will take your money, lie about what you're receiving, and leave you stuck with defective merchandise.
