Was in Jersey over the weekend for a wedding and this spot was very close to where we were staying. Gonna say it right now - I wish I lived near this restaurant bc I would eat all my meals here. Price is reasonable (compared to NYC prices) and the food was on point. Branzino for under $30? NYC can never. It was cooked perfectly, super flaky and had a small side salad. Chicken kebabs - nicely spiced and very tender. Was served with rice and bulgar. Chicken Doner - surprisingly VERY good. Probably not "traditional" but I loved that the meat wasn't super greasy. I THINK it was chicken breast?? Service was great, food fantastic. Spacious seating. Would come back if I'm ever in the area again.

Came here one month ago with some friends, but I forgot to write a review, so finally catching up! Food: unfortunately I did not take a picture of the appetizers, but the hummus was exceptional, but I ended up going with the lamb doner kebab which was amazing and definitely hit the spot. Great serving sizes as well. Aesthetic: beautiful restaurant with ample seating and a nice quiet vibe. Service: all the people who were working there helped us out and were readily available for anything, super grateful for us coming as well.

Arrived for our 4:30 reservation and given a big table for our party of 9. And we waited, and waited. Finally we were given water, and waited. Ordered appetizers (babaganoush, hummus, Turkish feta, zucchini pancakes), all delicious. Ordered mains, and waited, and waited, and waited. Adana pretty good, but lukewarm; gyro nearly cold. Ordered baklava and kadayif for dessert: delicious. Place was busy, but not to the point that our meal took three hours.

Such an amazing Turkish restaurant in the Parsippany area. The decor was very simple and classy, with a mural of Istanbul on the back wall. Service was very friendly and accommodating. We ordered a shepherd salad without cheese. It was generously portioned and very fresh. The finely chopped onions and parsley complemented the sweet tomatoes and crunchy cucumbers (all tossed in olive oil and a little vinegar). We also shared a mixed grill entree, which had one shish kebab, one chicken kebab, one Adana kebab and one doner kebab (all on top of bulgur with red cabbage, grilled tomato and pepper). The meat was juicy, flavor and cooked perfectly. The chicken and shish kebabs were also very tender. There was enough left over to take home, was a very filling meal. A must try place!

Found this on Yelp on our way from EWR to our hotel in Parsippany and we were thankful to find an option open late for a quick bite before bed. We were warmly greeted and quickly seated. We shared the zucchini pancakes. The flavor was good but texturally they were a little wet and could have benefited from a little more crisping. I ordered the red lentil soup. As others have mentioned, it was tasty but surprisingly brothier and less lentil-ful (it's a new word!) than most lentil soups I've tried. My guy really enjoyed his chicken kebab plate. It was colorful and flavorful and substantial. The complimentary warm, fresh bread was delicious. And the staff surprised us with a complimentary order of hummus. I could have licked the plate clean. I highly recommend ordering the hummus and I will surely order it next time if we're back in the area.

Came here on a late Sunday afternoon and found this spot via Yelp. Once entering, was greeted by host and seated. The place was bright from the natural sunlight. Started off with zucchini pancakes ($9.95) which was solid. I ended up getting the chicken kebab ($20.95) which was really good. They also serve a bottle of tzatziki (yogurt) with the chicken kebab. If your in the mood for Turkish/Mediterranean food, I highly recommend this spot. * parking on premise * good service * clean restaurant

My family and I have been coming to this spot for some time and it truly embodies comfort and all of the best things about dining out. Absolutely love the staff and their bread is what dreams are made of. Portions are large and prices are reasonable. We love it here and so will you! Thank you to the staff and service at elmas for always making us feel at home :)

Great BYOB spot with delicious food and friendly service. Staff was attentive to allergies and gave recommendations. Bright open restaurant with a larger room in the back for private events. Great spot for catching up with friends!

Great Service. Generous portions My favorites were: Adana Iskender (Yogurt Kebab/Iskender) was sooo good! Loved it. Crispy fried bread underneath your tomato sauce and chicken kabob on top. I liked this more than the doner & shish. My friend agreed. Dessert & apps tried And liked Mixed appetizers ( got the yogurt, ezme, hummus & baba ganuche) Large shepherd salad (a must with appetizer) is good enough for small portion for 5 people Sweets: Revani And Kazan dibi

Elmas is deeply fantastic. First, the hospitality is unbelievable: I've been like 3 times over the last 1-2 years, and they still know my name and face. One time I thought I'd forgotten my wallet (and my phone!) and they were ready to let me come back and pay another day. But you shouldn't overlook how deeply tasty and satisfying the eats here are. I once had the falafel wrap, which hit me with that umami and delectable crunch. Most recently I had the chicken shish lunch portion, which nevertheless came with the most fresh and flavorful hummus, right-out-of-the-oven bread, two kinds of rice, and a yummy salad. The chicken was properly the Star: succulent, slightly crispy from char, moist, and well marinated. It's easy to stop by if you're already in the area for Whole Foods or Target.

The olive oil didn't seem to pair super well with it though. Got the Adana kebab and mixed grill to go (sampled all the items at the restaurant while still hot). Chicken shish- fairly tender. Slightly charred. Good flavor Lamb shish- cooked ~ medium with a little pink. Good flavor but could be a bit more tender. I do prefer my meats medium rare so it could just be that. Adana kebab- Tender, good flavor. I think it could've been a bit juicier? Burger- super tender and full of flavor. Best meat by far. Veggies and rice- both very good. I appreciate the attention to the sides. Service - 10/10 Food- 8/10

I tasted piece of the chicken in the chicken salad & it was really good & well flavored so it was kind of puzzling to me that The chicken thigh lacked flavor even though the chicken itself was fresh & delicately grilled, vegetables was great especially the baby potatoes, rice was meh! But it came with no kind of sauce. There were at least 3 tables celebrating their birthday which I took for a good sign & place appears child friendly without being annoying so it seems like a great neighborhood spot. With good atmosphere & great service, & fresh ingredients, I was somewhat disappointed in the lack of flavors in several dishes but I would still cautiously recommend this place if you live in the neighborhood but I would not go out of my way to get to this restaurant.

I could not view reviews of dishes, so had to step outside to take a peak. Cannot justify paying such prices for dinning in a tiny, dark space in half-basement in the middle of NJ. Just can't. The portions are generous, which is good. But the prices are still outrageous for the location and vibe. It is BYOB for alcohol. We walked in on Sunday at 6pm without reservations and by 7pm, the small space filled up. The $12 hummus was bad. Store bought hummus of the cheapest brand tastes better. Seriously don't understand how a hummus can taste so bland and meh. No seasoning? The pita that came with it was low quality--it gave my friend an allergic reaction right away [he has sensitivity towards poor quality flour products]. $44 paidakia--lamb chops--had 4 chops that were tender and delicate. Pasnip pure was bland and totally a miss--did nothing to complement anything on the plate. Barely any demi lace sauce--definitely on the dry side. Asked for potatoes to be sutstituted for brocollini, but the kitchen did not follow through with that ask, even though our waitress confirmed it was possible. $39 lamb souvlaki was a solid dish. Filling and hearty. Good quality meat skewer. Smoked eggplant puree had a very strong smoke flavor. Lemony potatoes had bright, refreshing lemomy flavor that we appreciated. Service is attentive and quick. Complementary toothbrushes in the bathroom were a nice touch--a star for this little amenity.
