I got the lamb shish kebab. It came with two types of rice, a tomato-based one and a salted white one. I have had more flavorful kebabs and rice (1 star off) from other Turkish restaurants, but the meal was overall comforting. I poured the yogurt sauce over the meat and rice to give the dish more of a flavor boost. I was not a fan of their desserts. I think this might be the best Turkish food in Parsippany. We order from here like twice a week. It's absolutely delicious. We love their rice. We love the bulgar rice as well. Such an amazing Turkish restaurant in the Parsippany area. The decor was very simple and classy, with a mural of Istanbul on the back wall. Service was very friendly and accommodating. We ordered a shepherd salad without cheese. It was generously portioned and very fresh. The finely chopped onions and parsley complemented the sweet tomatoes and crunchy cucumbers (all tossed in olive oil and a little vinegar). We also shared a mixed grill entree, which had one shish kebab, one chicken kebab, one Adana kebab and one doner kebab (all on top of bulgur with red cabbage, grilled tomato and pepper). Found this on Yelp on our way from EWR to our hotel in Parsippany and we were thankful to find an option open late for a quick bite before bed. We were warmly greeted and quickly seated. We shared the zucchini pancakes. The flavor was good but texturally they were a little wet and could have benefited from a little more crisping. I ordered the red lentil soup. As others have mentioned, it was tasty but surprisingly brothier and less lentil-ful (it's a new word!) than most lentil soups I've tried. My guy really enjoyed his chicken kebab plate. It was colorful and flavorful and substantial. The complimentary warm, fresh bread was delicious. And the staff surprised us with a complimentary order of hummus. I could have licked the plate clean. I've been here twice and both times were fantastic. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. The shepherd's salad with feta was a nice size for sharing between 5 people. We then got 6 different spreads (ex. Hummus) and each one was better than the next. After that we shared 2 grilled kebob platters with chicken, beef and lamb. This is the restaurant that started my liking for Turkish/Mediterranean food last year. First chanced upon it on the suggestion of a friend...and I've been here many times since. Whether it's coming here with family, friends, birthdays, or dates, this restaurant never fails in terms of service. TLDR - crispy warm bread, flavorful kebab platters, knowledgeable waitstaff ! I had to try out Elmas because I love Mediterranean food. I wasn't too familiar with a few of the cold appetizers and kebab options but our waitress was so patient with explaining all of the details and giving her recommendations! She recommended trying Ezme to start and it was perfectly spicy and sweet for my taste and paired very well with the crispy warm bread. The chicken Kabab with yogurt was also a first for me and I was pleasantly surprised that the fried bread under the red sauce and yogurt smothered chicken added a good crunch to the dish. Regrettably, I've failed to share with all those who may be interested another great spot in Parsippany. Elmas Turkish- Mediterranean Cuisine is a great spot if your looking for something different and will soon be incorporated into your mix when looking for a quick and tasty meal. Located at 1561 Route 46 East (The old JC's Bakery for those who have been around Parsippany for a while), Elmas is between Vail and Baldwin Road in the Parsipany Hills Shopping Plaza. Located in a shopping center, there is plenty of parking whether you pick up or sit and dine on. During my recent visit, opted for take out and picked from the lunch menu and picked the lunch special. The lunch special is a three course meal that consists of a soup or salad, an appatizer, and an entree. I called in my order and the order found the staff to be friendly and ordering was a breeze. For the 1st course, I chose the Choban Salad or Shephard's Salad (Tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, peppers, parsley tossed with lemon, vinegar and olive oil) Salad was really tasty made for a great start for my lunch. For my appatizer, I picked the Babaganoush (Smoked grilled eggplant chopped and blended with tahini, garlic, olive oil and lemon juice) which paired well with the freshl bread that came with the mail. For the entree I picked the Doner Kebab (Ground lamb wrapped around vertical cylinder and grilled to perfection then thinly sliced) which I beleive was served over white rice and bulgur rice (if I'm wrong, someone can correct me and I'll modify my post) The meal also came with two sauces that also complimented the meal nicely. Not sure what they are called so would love to know for anyone that may know the answer. While not part of the meal, also had some rice pudding to finish odd the meal. While most meals I devour in a single sitting, there was leftovers for another light lunch or a hearty snack down the road. I've had other meals and they are just as good as today's meal and always consistent with tasty food and great service. Elmas has a great menu with many vegertain options as well. If you are looking for something to change up the routine, this place is definitely worth checking out. They do have a dining area to sit down and enjoy as well. Elmas is open 6 days a week for lunch and dinner form Tuesday though Sunday and is closed on Monday. Be sure to stop on and check then out! read more

This is by far my favorite local restaurant in the area. I usually start off with the shepherd salad, the small is big enough for my family to share. I can never decide which dish I want because they are all very good, thankfully they offer a mixed grill which is a combination of each. Their yogurt sauce and hot sauce they bri are the best around, I can't get enough of them. The desert we like best is the KAZAN DIBI, a slightly burnt creamy turkish custard. If you have never had it I would highly recommend it. Overall I would highly recommend this establishment. The food is 10/10 and never disappoints. The decor of the restaurant is beautiful. The employees of the restaurant are super friendly. Also, this is BYOB of alcohol. I highly recommend ordering a dip, they are sooooo good. I tried the Ezme- a spicy tomato crunchy dip. The solsuPatlican is a eggplant-tomato dip, so creamy and flavorful. The Levbne is a yogurt dip with walnuts and herbs, it's delicious, and always get the hummus. I ordered the lamb Adana and gyro combination. It's a great way to sample a variety of dishes without having to spend as much or worry about carrying leftovers with you when you leave. All of the food was authentic and extremely fresh and flavorful. Everything is made in house except for the baklava. However, that baklava was delicious so, definitely give it a try.
