The atmosphere is one that makes you feel special, especially the private parlour rooms upstairs; these rooms definitely lend themselves to appointment based visits. She was kind to me a less then handful of times and the rest of the staff is used to her being like this and I was told in the interview process not to take this seriously (as it's a known regular on goings) but honestly I am not one to want to feel bad about myself or let anyone treat me with disrespect as if it's natural to be this way. I felt like the slave minion and the rich aristocratic elderly owner. It was as usual there and as I said the staff is well aware and accepted it. I didn't like those outbursts and condescending talk and couldn't see how this could ever help me get ahead in a career so I left. After all, we all want to be happy at least. How she managed to go on for so long like this I don't know. Perhaps she was a different person in younger years but kinda doubt it. I do know they have wealth and no doubt this has influence some of the success of this store's brand such as getting an honorary business degree from a University where they have contributed a large sum of money. Oh and she charges interest to her staff, so you only got something if you could afford it then and there. No perks.
