When I see new clothes arrive on their Facebook page, I get excited and call in to purchase something, and the staff is happy to hear from me and always willing to go the extra mile. Danna also selected the perfect accessories to create an entire outfit that is tasteful yet eye catching. And the accessories work well with many of the clothes I already own. Yes, I could get some of the items in NYC (though I bought a couple of beautiful pieces by a Canadian designer), but in this store you also get a personal shopper with a great sense of style who selects items that might not even be on your radar. When Krista messaged me about consigning my dress, I noticed her new store would be right in what I like to call 'the up and coming bridal area', so I felt confident that it would actually get noticed. However, when I haven't seen two friends in over a year and we see a Winners across the street, we must go! This store is in a plaza with plenty of parking. We all parked and walked in. There is hand sanitizer available when you first walk in. A staff member is there to answer any questions that you may have. This Winners has an excellent selection of Kipling purses. It had both the original gorilla and the new metal gorilla purse styles. I found a small lilac one that's great for running quick errands. I already have it in black. It's lilac. I love it. By default, I must have it. One of my friends didn't buy anything. I probably distracted her when we were constantly chatting and browsing. Our other friend did a lot of damage at this store, which were mainly items for her cat. She got a scratching post for her cat, for instance. The post had a little ball in various colours. She asked us which colour we should go for. I said pink. The pop of colour was cheerful. She took my suggestion. Yay! See, I can be influential! I ended up also getting a bag of candy. That's how I roll. It's either candy, snacks, or tea. I'm consistent. The lineup to pay was rather long on a Saturday afternoon. It did move nicely by the time I was done browsing all the mugs, potato chips, and travel accessories. The only thing that I didn't see were cell phone accessories. The change rooms are relatively clean- frankly they look wayyy better than Hudson Bay at the Cambridge Mall. Wandered for 1 hr, not much luck finding something I like. Maybe next time.
