I had heard many times about how great their fried chicken is supposed to be, so I tried ordering a chicken 'meal'. The kiosk display shows an image with chicken and fries (wedges) but it doesn't clearly state that the fries actually come with the 'meal' when ordering. So for clarification I asked if the fries came as part of the 'meal' - and man did I get a hostile response from a food counter 'lady'! It wasn't like I was trying to get over on anyone - all I wanted to know is whether I also needed to order the fries separately - in addition to the chicken. I didn't want to end up with TWO orders of fries! Later I find the menu on their website states, "*ALL CHICKEN MEALS COME WITH A SIDE OF WESTERN FRIES." Screw this place - go to Popeyes or ANYWHERE else where customers are actually valued. read more

WTF! Time for the ol' trusty default three star Yelp gas station check list: Good price? It was $3.49 at the time of pumpage which is on par for the area but thankfully cheaper than anything in OCMD proper so a win on that one but with prices being what they are now, ultimately it's all relative. Did I trip over any random tire shards, radiator parts or left behind wing nuts? No runs, no hits and no errors but also no room in the outside garbage bins and no windshield wash fluid or squeegee either. Grrrr. Easy on/off to the highway/road of my choosing? Couldn't be any easier to slither off/on Ocean Gateway. Human intervention needed? Sadly, yes. In Royal Farms idiotic need to automate everything, you couldn't pay for gas at the pumps and had to go inside to pay at one of their automated checkout kiosks. While to me that's a conspiracy just to drive people into the store in the hope that they'll buy more MSG laden treats or fried chicken, it's also a real PIA when the kiosks weren't always working to purchase fuel. In the end it all got resolved for myself and a few others I saw in the store but they made it way too hard to do something which should be mindlessly easy. I was looking at medicine reading the labels and a woman employee at the store started screaming at me that I didn't belong there. I had no idea I was in a restricted area. If an employee had actually been in that area to help me this embarrassment could have been avoided. The woman was extremely rude so I just left without purchasing anything. The older male working overnights NEVER changes his gloves to make food, walks around the store, cleans, tends to other duties and I have watched him make my food with the same gloves hes been wearing probably all night, tears in his gloves, bare fingers on my food. Bottom Line: A large, bright, clean and newish Royal Farms. I think the Eastern Sho' has the best Royal Farms around! I stumbled across this location, and several others while traveling between Ocean City and Cambridge. I like that the front has about eight two-sided gasoline pumps and then around back there were about four two-sided either diesel pumps or ethanol pumps. (I'm sorry I didn't take a closer look.) I also like that there were doors into the convenience store from both the front pumps and parking lot and the back pumps and parking lot. This Royal Farms convenience store serves their world famous, so they claim, fried chicken and related items like biscuits, chicken tenders and fries. They also have lots of bottled drinks and fountain drinks to choose from. There is some seating in the store for those wanting to enjoy their meal there. Terrible for food service. Ordered macaroni and cheese. Paid and went to pick up macaroni after getting my drink. Food counter person asked me if I wanted macaroni warm. I said yes. It was COLD not even lukewarm. Cashier not manning her station. She was on the other side of the store talking to someone. Worst customer service ever! Can't say much about the food , but the bathrooms where absolutely disgusting . Toilet paper all over handicap stall , 4 things of toilet paper with none in there , all the toilets left unflushed and almost fully clogged with toilet paper , and both sinks where in terrible condition ( one with dried yellow stuff all in it and it's bottom ripped off - the other filled with water and clogged .) It's pretty much a new location less than a year old. Royal Farms stores seem to be popping up everywhere, like spring flowers. By the way, it is not world famous chicken. But the customer card gets you 25 cents off a gallon for the first month, and 10 cents off after that, and they have midgrade ethanol free gas as well. read more

ROFO has the best fried chicken, pretty consistently across their market area. I am a ROFO customer and fan. I visited and ordered a 10 piece. This new ROFO needs to get focused and get in the game! On the day before Memorial Day Weekend of their debut season, they crashed and burned. Service was horrible due to employees wandering around worried about a cappuccino machine while customers who had paid for orders were waiting for their food. Managers have alot of work ahead to get this crew in shape. read more

I would give no stars if I could. Came here on a Thursday night at 9pm. Check out line wS wrapped around to the outside of the line lane. Cashier was very friendly but seemed to have a difficult/slow time counting change as it took me about 10 minutes to get through the line. I ordered 3 sandwiches, a hamburger, a ham sandwich and a buffalo chicken melt. I stood there and waited for my food for over 40 minutes. We were the only ones waiting for food to be made, we were the only ones there other than people coming in to pay for their gas. There was a young girl working behind the chicken counter who had no orders and stood there on her phone (with her gloves on used for serving the chicken) while the young guy made the sandwiches. I have never seen someone move so slowly. He made one sandwhich at a time and had to stop in between each ingredient to read the screen for the next ingredient. He then stopped in the middle of the MELT to ask for the manager because "the customer didn't say if they wanted the melt toasted" meanwhile I am the only CUSTOMER standing there waiting. As he searched for the manager I had to nicely inform him that since it was a MELT that meant toast...to MELT THE CHEESE. The fact that I spent almost a complete hour in royal farms for 3 sandwiches is outrageous. I could have gone to a sit down restaurant and ordered, eaten and paid for my food faster than that. They also were out of paper to wrap the sanwiches so they used about an entire role of tape to tape the sandwich closed, completely squishing our sandwiches. This place is horrible everytime I go in there, which won't be anymore, and is the slowest royal farms ever! It has been open long enough for this to be worked out. read more
