the inside of a car in the rain
    Darren A.

I don't know what happened today but the birds evidently had a convention in the tree I was parked underneath. Maybe it was a non-enclosed aviary but they DESTROYED my car. I always keep my ride clean (thanks for that ingraining that in me, Pops). I parked, went to an appointment and came out to what looked like it had been sitting in the same spot for weeks. Bird crap... EVERYWHERE. Friggin flying rat bastaaaads!!! Naturally, I had to take care if this IMMEDIATELY! Since it was late in the day, car washes I go to were closed so I needed assistance... STAT! Yelp to the rescue. I jump on Yelp and search for gas stations w/ car washes. I came across this location and decided to try it out. I have gone to the BP across the street but on several occasions, it tends to leave soap behind... hidden. Off to RF I go and maaaaan, when I tell you... I opted to the 'Ultimate Wash' because bird crap was EVERYWHERE!! When I pulled out of the wash, my car looked like it was hand washed. I can't even begin to tell you how pleased I am. And... I saved a ton of money goin through this wash rather than an independent car wash. Well done, RF!!! I will be back!

After purchasing chicken and $20 in gas I loaded the gas to my car came back to pick up the chicken. I asked the young man preparing the chicken for extra small box to give some of my chicken to the homeless person outside. He complied. I go to my car as I normally do every time I get where you're from chicken I'll pull a piece out and start too munch. It's room temperature cold. Amica u-turn and pull back into the parking lot approach the young man very Connolly explaining the chicken was cold and I'm only looking to replace the remaining chicken with hot chicken. He gave me a disgusted look and refused stating "I went outside so of course it is cold". I only walk to my car which took literally less than a minute and pulled back into the parking lot within 3 minutes. Is dead hot outside even at night. I can tell he took the whole thing personal as if I was trying to get over on him. I looked at the chicken behind him sitting on top of the fryer and notice some pieces were dark and some was light in the color as if What I was thinking was true. The chicken wing that I've been into did not have the Royal farm flavor or texture It seemed to be cooked an old dirty grease. And then serve to me cold. He refused to replace the remaining pieces of chicken with hot chicken. Even though I was only gone from the store just a few minutes. I never asked for refund or to replace the whole bag Just the remaining pieces due to I know I gave the homeless guy four pieces of chicken and I started to eat one piece. Dis frustrates me because I go to this particular Royal farms quite often and usually late at night. And there's usually another gentleman working the register and someone else working the chicken and I always get decent service. This is the second time I receive cold chicken from this gentleman young man who seems as though he hates his job when you question him about the menu. This time I refuse to accept the cold chicken without stating my claim. I asked the cashier for the store manager's name and he stated he does not have her name or number. I insisted he must know her name and that I do not need her number and he gave me the name "Che" . I confirmed it three times along with the spelling before leaving the store he would not look me in my eyes on responding. Keep in mind not once did I ask for a refund. Just hot safe to eat Royal farms chicken.

    Chicken is good, but salty.

My first time there and I had no idea how the ordering process worked. With obvious confusion I looked at the options, stared at the menu, went back and forth trying to find prices...and all along the woman behind the counter just stared at me with a blank expression while doing nothing. I was about to ask her questions, but something about her was off putting, and then she started working on an order. Luckily a guy showed up at the counter and I asked him about the process. So for anyone who's never been to a Royal Farms (or this one) you place your order at the kiosk, take your receipt to the cashiers and pay there. Moving on to the food. The chicken was good, but so salty. I love salt so if I'm "complaining" it must be a problem. Funny thing, when I ate the next day (cold) the salt didn't bother me as much. For 8pcs I paid $13.99 :-( I also got 4 biscuits which were good, though a bit spongy. Plus there was no butter, honey or jelly packets. They costed about $3.50. Not cheap. Anyway, would I go to RF for the chicken again? Yes....but only when I have a serious craving and can't get to a Popeyes or KFC.

Crack in windshield after car wash

Think twice before you get a car wash here. Both a friend of mine and I have been a regular customer at this Royal Farm for gas and car wash. We had enjoyed the car wash, which you can get at a discount if you purchase the gas, until two weeks ago when the automatic washer slapped a 10-inch crack on the windshield of my friend's vehicle. I went in the store and talked to the manager, who told me that they have a computer system to process these kinds of 'issues' and would contact us in several days. I understand that it would take time for them to review the footage to determine the details of the incidents, so we decided to wait for their feedback. It had been two weeks and my friend still hadn't heard anything from them, so she decided to find the manager, who deferred her to another manager. The manager told my friend that they have reviewed 'everything' and could not find any issue on their end. So they refused to give my friend at least a partial reimbursement (several hundred bucks at a generic repair shop to replace the windshield, or $1000+ at the dealer). They also refused to provide the footage to prove that this wasn't their fault. I mean, as reasonable customers, who the hekk would be filming the surroundings when your car is being washed just to prove yourself in case there is damage? Only the camera recording from the store can exonerate themselves from any wrong-doing in this case. What really disappointed however was the fact that they did not even show the willingness to reach out to us even though they believed this was not their fault. We had to come to the store ourselves and nag them before we get some responses and were deferred to somebody else, as if our time is less important to theirs. Surely we are never going back to this place again.

The car wash my car is filthy.

I initially stopped here to get gas (the provide BP at this location) and then I wanted to go inside to get a drink and a snack to wind down my night. After going inside it felt a little to small for my liking. I had to reroute myself several times just to look at items because of the people in here. I will give them this, it is nice and bright in the store and everything seemed organized and in place. I found my items and went to pay. The two employees working made it feel like anyone that was in the store was interrupting them and we should have just left without anything in our hands. It took a while be be rung up as the guy was having a full on conversation and slowly processing the transaction. What really bothered me was that even after you paid, it felt like they were waiting to accuse you of stealing something. My friends that came with me had already paid and were waiting there for me to finish. As I was going through my transaction they kept looking at my friends, who had already paid, like they wanted to accuse them so badly of stealing what they just paid for. Once I finished my transaction we headed outside and were on our way.

The good: 9 times out of 10, if a local brewery releases a new, fun, craft beer, Supermarket will have it soon almost immediately after the release announcement. Local breweries like Peabody Heights, DuClaw, and Union all have a big presence here, as well as New Belgium/Voodoo Ranger and 21st Amendment for out-of-town craft fair. The okay: The prices are just that-okay The bad: Selections of most of the spirits are kept behind the checkout counter, so they're impossible to browse and difficult to make out the prices on-some aren't marked at all. Also, a lot of their stock is very old (many bottles are dusty even), and I've bought expired beer a few times here (who thinks to check beer?!). For certain craft beers, supermarket is a good choice. Otherwise, there's better liquor stores for better value, better stock, and a better shopping experience.

I went to the pharmacist counter with some cough drops, COVID-19 tests, and other remedies to buy, and tried to buy some Sudafed. The pharmacist told me I couldn't buy any of the non-pharmacy stuff there and had to buy it up front. Okay? Odd. When trying to buy the Sudafed their system went down when processing my DL. I asked if he could try it again and he said no. I left feeling very defeated because I was sick, in an unfamiliar city, and no other pharmacies nearby were open yet. I had already taken a Lyft to get here. I decided to go back inside to the pharmacist and asked where the nearest pharmacy was. The same pharmacist told me there was one at the university of Maryland, but it wasn't open to the public. !?! THANKS. During that time another very nice pharmacist had come in, took pity on me, and offered to try processing my DL again so I could get the Sudafed. This time it worked and I was incredibly grateful for her kindness. Finally, to top it all off, I bought a sealed bag of cough drops here and when I got back to my hotel, I opened it to find that some of the sealed cough drops actually had no cough drops in the packets. I basically bought a bag of empty cough drop packets. FML. Baltimore, you did me dirty this trip!!
