They consistently had great materials, beautiful sheets of paper, and amazing staff. Friendly service, clean and well organized store, and a real community staple. It was always nice to see consistent faces and I was treated with excellent service with every visit. I loved the manager and hope the company was able to retain her. Staples had a good quality, but Blick's were very high quality AND cheaper than Staples. This was the first time that I shopped at this Blick as they recently moved into this former Joann store from their India Street location. While this store is a little more out-of-the-way, it is a wonderful size for Blick, and all on one level. Items are easy to find and nicely displayed, making the store a joy to browse in. If they don't have it, you probably don't need it. They also have some fun not-exactly-art things, but fewer books than I remember being at the India store. Lots of easy parking. Helpful service, too.

(It's also in their name, but just being clear.) :) The folks working were friendly and helpful. The prices seem mostly reasonable to a tad expensive depending what you are looking for. (I'm coming from NorCal with a few events under my belt) so I'm always trying to learn and master my craft, Claudia was super knowledgeable and helpful. She helped me pick out the colors, gave me some tips, and allowed me to dive into her craft. I left with a mixture of brands that will be perfect for outside. She was honest with my selections and definitely made me feel 100% comfortable with them. I believe her teams a great addition to so much the store has to offer! The check out line is not very defined either so some people skip the line. I don't know if this store doesn't get enough stock and I know it's newer but a lot of times it falls short on items we look for. I was super excited to get a Michael's nearby instead of having to drive all the way to the other side of Chula Vista but this one is not like the others and it's a little disappointing. I think there's room for improvement and hope next year comes with a better selection.

While they work on hourly consult rates which is a refreshing option for many of us, on a recent project, my business was clearly not valued. Calls and emails were not returned for days or weeks, plans not sent as promised, all eventually resolved through my repeated follow-ups. The justified reason is that a bigger client was requiring all their time. Customer Service 101. I pay my invoices on time and without question. I will set aside the sales tax issue which required multiple emails to be resolved. The last straw was the requirement to pay for a 4th consult by a sharp deadline or my consult would be canceled. What choice did I have? I will find an interior design firm that will appreciate my business.
