This review is for the new separate space dedicated to Rolex watches. I won't comment on their watches as each their own (read they basically dominate the luxury watch market so doesn't matter). The other dealer I have encountered for this brand is for lack of better explanation defines we don't need your business approach. This was a pleasant experience with no requirement to make an appointment beforehand on the weekend. The sales person was courteous and took time to show various product lines and watches. I was very impressed with Mounia and how she explained my watch to me both in email and the day I went to pick up the watch. She was very quick to respond to my enquiries (yes I way an annoyance but this is my first Rolex) At the store she assisted me in trying 2 watches on so I could choose the right one. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. I went to shop for a Rolex this afternoon after going through their company's website. One of the WORST customer experiences I have ever encountered. When we walked in there were 2 staff in the Rolex section and no other customers. They just stood there playing with their phones pretending like we were not there. When we asked what models were available, the staff just said whatever you see is what you get. Essentially all display cases were empty. We followed up by asking what they are selling if they have nothing. Staff responded by saying she didn't know and she didn't know why they even had a store here in a negative tone. DO NOT believe these other reviews as the service was atrocious and they clearly did not have intention to sell anything. Very snobby attitude. Don't bother to come to this store if its out of your way because you will be wasting your time. Will leave empty handed with a sour taste in your mouth. read more

RDV is the most corrupt Rolex dealer. I get the whole "Rolex shortage" but this store uses devious and dishonest tactics to capitalize on it and take advantage of customers. I called ahead and also went in looking for a fairly basic watch (not a SS Daytona, Pepsi or Batman). I was told "oh, this watch is very difficult to get, we do not have it and won't get it." Then in the same conversation I asked what I could do to get it, and the salesperson replied "well maybe if you buy a piece of jewelry, that watch will appear". So clearly they have it and don't want to sell it unless the deal is sweet enough. I would have thought that these practices contravene Rolex's policies, but what do I know. Anyway, this is not the first I've heard of this happening here the watch community in Toronto is a fairly small one. UPDATE: After this review, the manager of the store called me to get more details about the situation and find out which salesperson I dealt with. He asked if I was still interested in the watch, I said "sure" but still haven't received any sort of indication that they're going to sell it to me. Again, I know for a fact they have these on hand. Very large and beautiful watch store with huge selection of high-end watches - Blancpain, JLC, AP, Breguet, etc. There's lots of eye candy for a watch collector such as myself. Talking about eye candy... The women in the store are off-the-chart hot. I don't mean run-of-the-mill attractive. I mean "what's your real job?" hot. I don't know what their knowledge of watches is, but who cares? They're almost certainly not there for their expertise in fine Swiss watches acquired over years of experience. The only words I heard coming from the mouth of one of them was "Is there something you would like to see?" That's either an innocent question intended to be helpful or an exquisitely crafted double entendre. I was tongue-tied but almost said, "I'll take everything." Terrible. Completely screwed up our wedding bands. Did not prepare them in time, had to give us a loaner which we had to pay for, then when we got the actual bands, screwed it up so badly. Were not at all apologetic about the matter. We thankfully managed to get our deposit back, but will never go again. Should mention: this was a few years ago, not last year (2015). read more

Terrible customer service. Went to the service department to buy a different coloured strap for my Jaeger Le-Coultre. Asked to see straps within a certain specific dimension (did not yet say that it was for my JLC, not that it should matter), condescending sales woman behind the counter says without checking that "we don't have a strap like that, go try The Bay." Without checking. Without even recommending another watch shop, go check the department store. After a colleague in the JLC section of the shop told me service would likely have what I'm looking for, and that they have literally drawers full of straps. Maybe I didn't comb my hair well enough that day. YOU SELL WATCH STRAPS. I'm looking to give you money for one. Do I need to brag about my watch collecton before I can be treated respectfully as a customer? OK, great, attitude hasn't improved in 5 years since my last visit. I will never go back. DO NOT SHOP HERE!!! I was here today for a scheduled appointment. I was greeted by security demanding to know who my appointment was with. I was then met by a sales assistant who (a) had not bothered to prepare by reading my appointment request (b) who told me 15min into my appointment I needed to hurry they had another appointment in 45min and (c) I needed to go on the Rolex website and then order through her but if she took my details it was a done deal...as if anyone if their right mind would spend $30K on something unseen over the internet. When I then asked to see OMEGA watches at 1.20pm she told me she was needed elsewhere. So 20 min later I walked across the road to another Rolex dealer in Yorkville, where i had a FANTASTIC experience and made my purchase...they laughed that they don't need to do anything with the steady flow of annoyed people they get from Royal De Versailles...AVOID THIS STORE AT ALL COST read more

Used for be a decent place to shop but now full half wits. If I am putting down $10,000 on watch you should know the answers to my questions. This is a really high end place with a nice collection of watches which is why I gave it 2 stars. However, the staff is just ridiculous. Absolutely no interest in watches or any knowledge. It seems all the girls are hired for their looks cause they seriously have no product knowledge. I handed in my Blancpain for a repair once and the lady had no idea how to adjust the calendar. She kept fidgeting with the crown until she almost broke it. I assume she would know about under lug correctors used by one of their main brands. Further, it takes them 1 whole month to ship it to Switzerland! Yea basically the watch just sits there, eating away at a warranty period until 4 weeks pass by for them to start shipping it for service. The only reason this place is famous is cause it basically has a monopoly of high end watch brands in the Toronto region. My 3rd star is given simply because they are good in following up with me. The service manager is very prompt with her email responses and good at following up. If it weren't for her response I would have probably lost it read more

Not impressive. I needed a link fixed in the part that attaches the metal band to the watch. While they were fixing that, they "volunteered" (without asking) to make the same fix on the other side - even though it wasn't broken. "It was going to break in the same way sooner or later." This is the best watch store in toronto hands down. Best selection, prices and service especially with my sales rep Irene. They take care of me each and every time, are not pushy with sales, and offer me a drink no charge every time. Overall I really like this store and would definitely consider buying a high-end watch here in the future. Inventory: They have a fantastic collection of watches here. There is a great selection of JLC, AP, VC, Breguet along with IWC, Rolex, Omega. I wish they carried PP and ALS though... Toronto is a pretty major city and getting your hands on PP, ALS, FPJ is very difficult. But that's not really Royal's fault. For context, Singapore has 10 PP ADs... Toronto has one. Service: Others have made comments that the sales staff is full of beautiful women who don't know very much about watches. I would agree. But they are very friendly and even though I'm not a wealthy person, and was not dressed up to look like one, I felt they were very professional and helped me as best they could. I expected a snobby attitude when I first came to the store and I was very happy to be proven wrong. I would say that it is best if you know what you are looking for before coming to the store though because they won't be able to offer much help with their expertise. Price: Pretty good. Maybe not the absolute best price available anywhere, but you can be confident that you can get at least a decent price and not be ripped off. I looked at two watches here. For one I got the best price I could find in the city, so I bought it. For the second watch I found a better deal somewhere else so I bought it there. I went there in early december. This store is known for their high end watches. The staff was very helpful. I would recommend that You do your reseach about the product you want and find out some details about it online before going into the store. In store, you get better service if You know exactly what you want. I went and asked for a particular watch and I got prompt service. They helped me try on the watch and even allowed me to take a photo. They had limited variations of that model available in their store on that day and the lady helping me was not aware of any new expected shipments or scheduled inventory updates. The good: Carries all the brands I was considering, including IWC, JLC and Rolex. An excellent selection of watches. The bad: Horrible customer service. I wanted to look at both IWC and JLC but the salespersons were helping other customers. It was a Saturday afternoon, and was relatively busy, so it was understandable to have to wait. However, not only was I totally ignored by both salespersons, one wouldn't even move the tray so I can look at the watches in the display. She was too busy chatting up the customer (not about watches) while he drank his glass of wine. I was eventually asked by another salesperson if I wanted to look at a JLC, and the Rolex women were friendly, but by then it was too late. Needless to say, I will not be returning to this store. Unfortunately, the staff alienate potential customers by judging and pandering to a "certain segment of customers" on the perception they have money. read more

I have been shopping/looking for the Rolex Daytona, GMT-Master II or the Yacht Master II (one of the three, not all) in Oystersteel for a few months and have not had much luck finding one yet. I went to RDV on Sunday afternoon July 21 and was pleasantly surprised to find the Yacht Master II on display. The sales lady promptly came to greet us. My shopping experience went downhill from there. I get the Rolex oystersteel sports watches shortage message. However, there is no need to remind me multiple times that Oystersteel is the entry level Rolex watch. The Yacht Master II is not exactly pocket change to me with retail price at $21, 450 plus tax. She has no interest in selling me the Yacht Master II but instead trying to upsell me the ancient looking yellow gold Sky-Dweller. She ended the conversation and left the display counter when I said that the yellow gold Sky-Dweller is not my style. My wife and I looked at each other and felt pretty embarrassed in the middle of the showroom to be honest. We left without buying, needless to say, or leaving our contact information. read more
