Super fun environment! Great for all ages, I had my 21st birthday here, very lowkey but the drinks were 8 dollars and in a SMALL plastic cup. If you're brining a crew who wants snacks + drinks it's overpriced for sure. Overall bowling was great & two games cost us around 25 dollars for 2 people. This woman at the alley bar was incredibly rude to me and my friends. A woman who is the manager was very unprofessional and would not let us purchase alcohol even though we were 21. She came up to us during our game, which we paid all together 80$ for, and told us she would kick us out if we continued to drink from our friends beer pitcher. Regardless of the circumstances, she was incredibly rude and created a hostile environment. They also tried to charge me $1 for a cup of water. Would not give us a refund for our games, only vouchers. read more

Hmmm . . . what to say about a bowling alley. That it was clean? Yep, it was. That the lanes and scoring machines all worked? Yep. They did. That the bar was amazing? Eh . .. not so much- you'd be better off going into Wayne and Larry's next door if you want a drink that's not a beer. But the best thing going for it? There are lots of friendly people who work here. And there is plenty of free parking. So if you are in the mood to get a little aggression out on the alleys- check this place out. Took the afternoon off work to spend with my family. I presented the attached coupon for "buy one, get one free". There were four of us paying so I figured with the coupon we be able to get 3 for the price of 4. This was about $3.50 savings. However the older lady working the counter said this was only good when it was for the same person???? I looked at the coupon & her, asked again & she said that's how they work there. I reminded her I was paying for 4 & the coupon was not specific about it only being for one person. Since I had kids, I didn't say much more (again, it was just $3.50). I paid the fee for one game & shoes. This place is corrupt & not honoring the coupons they issue. Of course the service stayed at that level. With little kids we asked for bumpers. While waiting I had time to grab a beverage for myself & run to other end to grab one kid a $2 coke! $30 later I walked out. read more

The brunette manager got hostile towards me for absolutely zero reason. There was some dispute over who had valid IDs and whose were expired and while I was trying to bowl, the pins weren't coming down, so I watched what was going on at the table. The manager looked at me and yelled, "What! What!" Even after the dispute with the IDs, multiple employees continued to stare us down as we attempted to enjoy the $80s worth of games we purchased. Regardless of the circumstances, the two female staff members we encountered did not know how to behave with professionalism and general human decency. A female employee with dark hair even came up to us and told us "I just got told to f-ing kick you out because you won't f-ing stop drinking." and just walked away after we explained that nobody was drinking besides the man who had a non-expired ID and had purchased the pitcher. Extremely unprofessional and frightening, I left feeling anxious and uncomfortable. read more

This place is very different from any bowling alley I've ever been to. The lanes are waxed to no end. The way I bowl, I throw it towards the gutter and spin it towards the middle. Little did I know that these lanes would force me to relearn my bowling style. It was infuriating. I say 2 stars because the bathroom design is actually pretty nice. read more

If you want to bowl in Lawrence, it's either here or Jayhawk Lanes. Royal Crest is fine--the lanes are not in great condition, though. If you are a purist, you might be disappointed with the different variations in the lane conditions that force unpredictability into the game (and not in a good way). Monday and Wednesday night after 9pm, you can bowl for 99 cents a game. read more

I have spent many, many hours of my life here. Good bowling, reasonable prices, lots of fun. The food they sell is good, and the arcade machines and other novelties make for an overall great experience. If you're looking for some afternoon fun, come have a good time! read more

There aren't too many bowling alleys to choose from in Lawrence so unless you're on campus at KU, Royal Crest is your place. The condition of the lanes are a little disappointing, they're definitely due for a remodel but at least the games are cheap! If you bowl on Monday or Wednesday nights after 9pm they're only 99 cents! Royal Crest lanes is a good spot for some wholesome fun ! read more

Will never go back. We had a group of 14-9 people bowling on two lanes from 4:30pm to 9:15pm. $200.00 shoe rental and bowling. At 9:15pm the lanes timed out. We went to the desk and asked Wayne (owner manager) if he would turn the lanes back on so we could finish the 10th frame. He said no. He then added rudely, "If you want to finish you will have to pay another $10 per person". Really, $10 per person for one frame after we had spent $200.00 bowling and another $100.00 on food and drink. Others in our group said the help at the bar was rude as well. Not impressed! read more

This fun little Lawrence spot resembles "Kingpin" on a weird acid trip in America's smelly section of the armpit department store. When I walked in, my eyes began oscillating rapidly due to untainted feelings of ecstasy, pulsating through the cerebral nerves which had been hibernating in my fun-and-games childhood period. After a small possible blackout, you will realize this is a sufficient place to spend the rest of the night (have a designated driver to beat you and drive you home). Offering very reasonable prices and a weekly evening hour special (allowing at least 3-4 games with a few people), you can't pass something up that blows your mind this hard, recreational style. The people partying around you seem to be relieving stress from their probable past appearances on trashy television or they are just having a family outing after a plain old hard days work. This one gal was wearing a shirt that read, "Born to Party...Forced to Work ". To me, that will basically sum up your outlook on life after visiting this place. Also, there is a jukebox to show your dance moves while you get that strike. Turn off wheel of fortune, tuck the kids in, and get loaded on cheap pitchers of beer. I haven't been to an alley quite like this...ever. read more

Great place! My kids have always loved it! Wayne and Larry's is also the BEST sports bar in Lawrence! Friendly people who know their business. They have something for everyone! Wouldn't go anywhere else. If you're looking for a place to book a party of any kind, the room at Wayne and Larry's is awesome! The space is easily manipulated into anything you want! Lawrence needs more places that feel welcoming. read more
