It's got a decent rough, some wooded areas and some water, but no sand. It's kept in good condition too. The fairways and greens play well, even in the summer, when the local weather can be a little rough. The green fees are reasonable. At the time of this posting, nine holes on a Friday afternoon without a cart was $13.

Casual and fun. Even when the course was busy we never felt rushed or crowded. Their prices cannot be beat. Great location for anyone in Lawrence or Johnson County or along K-10. There may have been a green or two and a fairway or two with some rough spots (otherwise they'd get 5 stars from me). But it is also clear that the owners are improving the course and take good care of it. And where else do you get to take a shot at an island green in Kansas?!? Great value and a great time whether you are hackers like us or not.

I'm not sure what the huge mounds of dirt in the fairways were from, but I'm guessing an irrigation system? Either way, the hazards on this course were plentiful and unintentional. The greens are laughable as well. This course is really pretty and with some maintenance it could be a great place to golf but YOWSA it needs some care.

He is the assistant golf pro at the Club. It was 90+ degrees and got really warm on the back nine. I do not use a glove but needed to use one later in the round. We enjoyed it. Tee times are spaced 10 minutes apart. We never felt rushed. We let a single play through on the 12th. All in about a four hour round. Cart gal was great on the front nine but we only saw her once on the back. There is a nice clubhouse and grill room. We had a fine breakfast before our round and then a beer afterwards. Many of the holes are pretty wide off the tee, but the tall wispy brushes outside of the fairways make it challenging to find and hack your ball out if you miss. Electric golf carts come with helpful graphics on the screen, a 6-grid pin location sheet, and cautionary notifications when a cart ahead is in a blind spot. Holes are scattered though a lovely neighbourhood, with every hole giving a different looks with bunkers, elevation changes, and doglegs. I really appreciated the Marshall coming around every few holes and ensuring everyone had enough ice and water on a hot day. Practice are is very nice was well. My only complaint was I didn't see bathrooms on course besides one porta-John, and the practice area & club house restrooms. Probably a 4.5 so rounding up to a 5.
