We arrived at the clubhouse, shared his membership info, paid for his round, and were told to head to the first tee and show the steward our receipt. We never got a shot off before we were told repeatedly that my son was not old enough to play the course. My son was devastated and embarrassed. It was about as bad of a first impression as a kid can have for a new sport. Fortunately we were able to get onto another course nearby, which was incredible... they will be getting all of our business from here on out. We will not be returning to St. Andrews even when my son meets their age requirement.

I fondly remember Heritage Park GC, as it was my place of employment during high school. It's a great place to have your first job and learn how to play the game, This course has one of the best and most challenging back nines in the city. 13-18 are some of the stretch of holes you will find!
