I absolutely hate giving 1 star reviews, but I've been 100% bamboozled by the majority of the positive reviews here. I took my suit in on Saturday for dry cleaning in preparation for an interview. I paid for expedited service and alteration. Picked up the suit on Tuesday and immediately saw glaring issues. The pants waist was ruined with noticeable glue. Overall, the pants and jacket smelled funky and had wrinkles everywhere. The chest pocket also had a button so that caused major wrinkles (no attention to details here). I brought it back in same day to asked about the glue on the pants and whether they had dry clean after alteration because there was a lot of wrinkles. The lady behind the counter said it wasn't her that did the alteration so she doesn't know.. fine.. then she asked if I wanted the pants creased and I said yes. She said she will make a note for the lady working tomorrow since the machine isn't running anymore. Fast forward to tomorrow... the "lady working tomorrow" happened to be the owner. She also did not know why they left the glue behind as she was also NOT the one that had done the alteration.. but she will do what she can to clean and remove it... I had to reschedule my interview since I don't have a suit anymore.. Anyway, came in Friday to pick it up and the Owner said she can't remove the glue and the glue was there due to the shoddy construction of the suit. She also changed her tunes and said she was the one that had opened up the pants and saw all of the glue.. so what is the truth here??? Just the other day the owner claimed it was not her that did the alteration and then now she's saying it was her. If the owner did open up the pants and saw the glue, I'd assume she would know that may cause an issue when dry cleaning or at least fix it. And FYI the pants were sewn... the glue was from the alteration that YOU or "someone other person" did. I tried to be nice and asked only to refund the expedited fee. She refused and said she did gave me the suit on Tuesday... but yeah it was terribly done on Tuesday and I had to bring it back... and it's now Friday.. AND they still didn't fully fixed the issue. She responded with "your interview was rescheduled so it's fine" Well.. I paid for expedited service and I didn't get that??? Really bad experience here. Left with a ruined suit.. no pants creases despite request.. still wrinkles here and there.. never coming back again.. 100% regret. LONG STORY SHORT.. I've been here twice now and both experiences were excellent. The first time, I needed a damaged dress zipper replaced and a dress dry cleaned. Everything was done well, quickly, and at a reasonable price. The second time was a bigger job: I had bought a dress to wear to a black tie wedding that looked pretty nice on me but just not quite right. I asked it it was possible to fit it better to me, taking in two long seams on the lower half. I was a bit nervous because the fabric had a sheen and I imagine was not the easiest to modify. I shouldn't have worried. The work was beautiful and yet again at a very fair price. Moreover, the experience was great. I took my two vintage dresses to be cleaned at Royal Cleaners before I ship them off to be sold. I was impressed by the knowledge Jeanette had with my dresses. She told me a few places where the dresses may get damaged. Of course she did a great job, no damage, but she wanted me to know the possible problems that can happen to vintage clothing. I thought the price to clean was reasonable and Royal Cleaners did a wonderful job. Will use them again in the future. read more

I brought in a stained white suit I wore for my wedding, and I was amazed that Royal Cleaners were able to get the stains out, especially since it included a mix of things like wine, dirt, makeup, and sweat marks. This is the second time I have used Royal Cleaners (last time they cleaned another suit, cashmere sweater, and a summer dress and returned them looking brand new), and will definitely be back for whatever clothes cleaning needs I have. Royal Cleaners is awesome! I can't thank them enough for patching and re-stitching my camouflage shorts to make it look and feel brand new. I have used several dry cleaners in Solano County and Marin County, but NOTHING comes remotely close to the service , attention to detail, and overall looking good. It's really hard to find an alternative to clothing you really like without actually getting rid of it. You like the feel, the way it looks, and when you try something new on, it just doesn't fit. I hate to say it, but Marin county being marin county, attempted to re-sew or re-stitch my shorts, but failed miserably with yet another tear! She has a strong attention to detail, is very professional, and has the work done in a very timely manner. If she ever closes I think I'll be broken without her. These tears were absolutely not there when I turned the suit in; in fact, I'd worn it just once-to my wedding a few months before-and it was in just as good a shape as it was the day I bought it. I brought a wedding gown here for dry cleaning and was satisfied with the result. FYI the wedding gown was relatively clean even before the cleaning; no noticeable stains except for the lace of the train at touched the ground, part of which turned grayish after 1-2 hours of indoor wearing. I have only appreciation and admiration for Jeanette at Royal cleaners! It was always my dream to wear my mother's wedding dress at my own wedding. I came to her with my mom's wedding dress from the 1980s and asked her to help me modernize it by taking off the (rather puffy) sleeves and altering the waist. She put so much care and attention into renovating the gown and it turned out absolutely beautiful. Jeanette very innovatively took the large silk bow and turned it into a tie up the back. All her idea. She removed the sleeves so perfectly it looked like the dress had always meant to be sleeveless. She even modified the neckline and worked with the fragile lace to make sure everything laid properly. Jeanette went above and beyond for me -- she even added back in the bustle so I could walk and move in the gown more easily. I was back and forth at Royal's many many times over several months to try on the dress, give Jeanette feedback, check on it, etc. It was a collaborative process and when the dress was basically finished, I cried, and so did Jeanette :) I so appreciated her attention to detail and understanding of the sentimentality of wearing my mother's dress. I left my wind breaker to get pockets added since I needed a place to keep my hands warm. I'm glad Jeanette took time to look over my jacket and make sure I really wanted to add pockets since it is a really expensive jacket. She didn't recommend pockets if I wanted to keep the jacket's integrity together, but I was in it for practicality. I just needed a place to keep my hands warm! The pockets look great as they match the aesthetic on the outside and it looks natural. The hours didn't line up with my hours, but I called on the phone and we worked it out without even seeing each other. I'm sad to give this place a low rating because they seem like good people and clearly have a good history with their clients. Anyways, I brought in a few Of my Bebe leggings (which some are machine wash safe but I wanted them nice and pressed) but the girl up front told me they might not be able to Dry Clean them because of specific material on them. Ive never before gotten denied service because of the type of fabric my clothes are. Yes they warn me of possible damage but still wash them. Second, I took a leather jacket which they told me they couldn't wash for me but that It was safe for me to wash it at home...okay weird but whatever. So dumb me,I followed their advice and my jacket is now completely ruined!!!!! On top of that they only dry cleaned 3 leggings and my total was $35. $10 a piece? That seems rather high for me. I am a very busy person and don't always have time to do my laundry. The Dry Cleaning and Alterations are always perfect. I have never had any problems in 8 years. This place is as good as it gets. I'd give TWICE the stars if I could! Jeanette, the owner has been around over 30 years, and is amazing: friendly, thoughtful, professional. Her high integrity is undeniable. I saw at least 2 instances when she told the customer that alteration wasn't necessary, even though it's bad for her business. She would rather do the right thing instead of make a quick buck. Every time I go in, I witness how she cares about long term relationships and how the customer feels. Her expert alterations are superb; my jacket had a very weird stitch and texture, but the sleeve alterations look like original factory stitch to replicate the hem exactly. And very knowledgeable about possible change from dry cleaning process. She was upfront with me about how the cream colored part of my dress might tint a bit from the black half. I trusted her with the best results more than anyone else, and I'm glad I did. I love the fit, and the cream part is still bright as I like. I don't understand the two 1 star reviews; how could someone from SD work next to this NorCal address? I'm not an expert Yelp reviewer, but my few postings are honest...
