I'm not sure what everyone else is sour about, this little "hole-in-the-wall" is great, and doesn't leave a "hole-in-your-wallet". Tuesday-Thursday, 2/$25, w/drink & dessert, not bad price and not "special" portion size. The Frau had the fish, I the chicken fried steak, with all the accompaniments. Very tasty indeed. The place was cleaned and the staff was so nice and great!!! We ordered a steak breakfast and a burger and both were so amazing!!! The burger is one of the best I've had in a long time. The steak was cooked and seasoned so well no sauce was needed to eat it! We will be putting this place into our date day rotation regularly! read more

Food was delicious. However we had to wait about 45 minutes, without getting coffee or water refills. We were seated near the area where the coffee was, and watched the three severs laughing and talking for our entire wait while our glasses sat empty. Very disappointing. The service ruined our experience. The servers were not rude, but seemed to care more about chatting than ensuring a good experience for their guests. I am surprised at the name: royal cafe. When going here, expect to be treated not as royalty but as a peasant. Overall: food was an 8/10, service was a 1/10, and ambiance was a 2/10. Not somewhere I would visit again. read more

My family and I just stopped here on our way back home after vacationing on Sand Lake, and the service and food were outstanding! We had no wait, and the server was super friendly! The food was fresh, delicious, and just what we needed to fuel up for our trip back home! We wish we would've found this place sooner! We will definitely be back if ever in the area again! read more

If I could give this place a zero I would. (Please read everything) We came in for breakfast/lunch at 11:15 and didn't get our order taken or menus until 11:28ish. But that's not all. The table was dirty and sticky that we had to wipe it ourselves. The silverware still had some residue from the previous people who used it! I was so disgusted and disappointed. Does it look like I came here to get sick? Lastly, our order was taken around 11:28ish and we were waiting TOO long. It was 12:33 and we still weren't given our food. So that's when we decided to ask for our check for our drinks, pay that, and walk out and go somewhere else. P.S it wasn't even busy! I don't know what they were doing in that kitchen that made it take so long. There was also a guy sitting behind us who came in 20 minutes after us and got his food way before us. Always great food and great service until today. We arrived around 12:15 expecting them to be busy but we were completely ignored by the staff. The boy at the cash register wouldn't even acknowledge us standing there waiting to be seated, there were empty tables, he went to the back of the dining area to do something and came back and still didn't acknowledge us. We left. The Country Kitchen in White Pigeon, was also very busy but they greeted us immediately, took our name and seated us within 10 minutes for great food and service. read more

Ok place. Ordered 1/2 sandwich and soup. Soup was excellent. Best tasting thing on tuna sandwich was the lettuce. It was bland and tasteless. Very disappointed this trip, my second time here ever. First time everything was warm and toast was actually toasted, I even bragged to my friends how great it was. This visit everything was cold, toast was soggy and honestly it was like an Easter egg hunt to find meat in the omelette, and even though I was not a big fan of the coffee the first time I felt it was an ok sacrifice for the great potatoes and toast. Omelette was ok the first time but still little filling. I am certain this is no longer a go to place and I have to tell all my friends so I don't look bad. read more

Very sad whoever posted the other review. I eat breakfast and lunch when passing thru town every month or so. Great and friendly family restaurant, inexpensive pricing, huge and consistent menu variety. Very kind people and be sure to try their blueberry pancakes if your a pancake lover...delicious. First time diner. Waitress wrote down incorrect order therefore order was delivered to table incorrect. Waitress was very aggressive and wouldn't admit fault. We paid for both meals ( though we didn't touch it). I wanted to call the manager and discuss the unfortunate incident. Waitress answered every time and hung up on me every time and the last phone call she told me and I quote " don't ever come down here again or I'll kick your fucking ass"...... went back with a sheriff due to threat ( I only wanted a refund) and owner said waitress didn't say that ( calling me a liar) and I was given the option to eat ( though incorrect) and he will ensure I DO NOT get a refund !!!!
