The food is straight up diner fare. It's good, hearty, fill-you-up meals. Not anything different than what you'd expect. Just done right. The prices are fair. The place is clean with a good vibe. Every once and a while the kitchen will be blaring some crazy heavy metal which can be annoying. But overall the atmosphere is really good. It is incredibly frustrating to drive over an hour for a meal, full of excitement, only to be met with poor service and disappointing food. And we deserved an enjoyable experience after making that effort, and it does not make any sense that we were let down by the staff's attitude and the overpriced meal. Please keep in mind while we were there it was just us and one other person who the 2 waitresses just stood and talked to instead of waiting on us. This place has been talked about for years around town and my husband and I finally decided to try it out one morning. We wanted take out and it was nearly impossible to find a menu anywhere online. (My husband has added photos to this page since) When my husband finally got a hold of them on the phone, the woman said that they were not taking to-go orders and that he needed to come in. The whole experience was a little awkward as she kept questioning if we really knew what we wanted, talked about how they couldn't figure out how to use social media, was yelling across the room to other customers and was just overall pretty unprofessional. She took his order and then he had to leave & wait 15 or 20 minutes. Being that we live very close by, it should have been very fresh. But the food was basic and quite frankly, a little expensive for what we got. The food was decent, but I always hope for a little more from hole in the wall places. Super clean, friendly staff and speedy service. I recommend the haystack breakfast. BUT, the reason for 1 star is the mask situation during this pandemic. The waitresses all had masks but half of them weren't wearing them properly. They didn't have their nose covered. WHAT'S THE POINT? The kitchen staff only wore masks when they came into the dining room, they took them off when they were in the kitchen. WTF? THEY ARE TOUCHING MY FOOD! Went in to get my daughter some eggs for breakfast. (We live out of town and didn't want to do fast food.) Kicked us out as soon as we walked in because I had a cup from the coffee shop down the block. I asked if they make latte's she said no. I can understand if it took buisness away from their products, but they don't offer anything like what I had. She didn't even give me a chance to make a Togo order. As I was grabbing my crying baby (she's 1 1/2) she told me " You're not allowed outside drinks" and dismissed me. As she was walking away I asked if they made latte's and she said no and kept walking. Already stressed from a night of no sleep all I want was my coffee and to feed my baby. The rudeness was not needed on top of it. Definitely I would give 0 stars if I could. read more

Worst dining experience I have ever had. I ordered a bacon and eggs and hash browns cooked crisp. When they were delivered to the table the hash browns were white and looked uncooked. I sent them back. When the rude waitress brought them back they were slightly browned but still not the way I ordered them. I called the female owner over and sent them back again. Twenty minutes later, this time when the plate was brought back the owner replied "They don't get crispier than that" and they were burnt. I asked the owner "Are you kidding me, you cant cook crispy hash browns like every other place. By the owner I was called a "Rude A$$hole" and told that if I didn't like it I could leave and not come back! I will never do business with them again. Have frequented the Corner Cafe for years. Everything from plain old oatmeal to 3 egg omelettes, the food is always great and plenty of it.

I've visited this eatery many times over the years and always end up trying again out of lack of other options to find myself continually finding the product and service even worse than the previous visit. Today's visit was top of the list. After ordering and having staff serve out two larger orders ahead of me and then receiving my girlfriends food order entirely incorrect(she ordered chorizo skillet with scrambled eggs) and sending it back directly I found my meal perfectly serviceable short of the gravy and biscuit that Sysco would be disappointed to see being served. White gravy with zero seasoning which took an inordinate amount of pepper and salt to bare eating. Once I was completely done with my food my girlfriends food came out and was the same egg, now the. Enter part of 15 minutes old along with the same chorizo also of the same vintage served on top of hash browns with a piece of cheese slapped on top. The eggs had reached the "squeaky" point of being old since they were just under a light until thrown on top of my girlfriends second plate along with the previously used chorizo. Neglecting the other 2/5 of the items included in the skillet due to I assume lack of actual care in the task at hand. My counter-part asked for a small glass of chocolate milk to only after a long wait come back to receive the message " we only serve large glasses, and does it matter I'm sure he's paying". Now I'm all for tacky banter and the occasional knee slapper however when your service has proven time and time again to be incorrect you should make a small accommodation to ease the tension. When I went to pay I brought a menu and showed the faults in the meal and instead of any apology or comp on my meal I received a simple " I didn't hear her order correctly" and basically got to pay for a crap meal. Which is fine, since I learned once again that this place is exactly always the same. CRAP. Also there were cob webs in the corner beside our table, not just some fresh webs but well established dust ecosystems and it seemed like the staff never bothered to look up at the quite noticeable Web.
