This was one of our best breakfasts in the Shipshewana area! It's a cute small place connected to a coffee shop. Our server was very nice and knowledgeable about the menu, she gave us time to figure it out and wasn't pushy. We loved that the coffee was free with our food (though I believe that was just Monday-Wednesday or something like that), and it tasted great! The sweet potato hash was the table fave! I loved that they came in half orders since I wasn't super hungry. The haystack was good too, according to my husband. He said all the components tasted fresh and the gravy tasted home made. The toast was house made too and was very very good. We will definitely be back when we're in town. read more

The service was great and our waitress was lovely, treated us like family. The food was delicious. I had the Haystack and it is 2-3 meals worth of food! Very tasty. My husband had a cheese omelette with toast. He said 'it may sound silly, but this toast is awesome!' He also said the omelette was very good. The dining area is very clean and welcoming. While visiting the area for a girl's trip, my friend and I stopped here for lunch. Notice that they close at 2 pm. We got there about 1:30 and were seated and served quickly. I ordered a chicken quesadilla and my friend got the chicken salad. She really enjoyed her chicken salad. The large pieces of white meat chicken, red grapes, celery, and pecans were very lightly coated with mayo. My quesadilla was good but it was the spicy ranch that made it delicious. We enjoyed the fresh clean environment and our friendly waitress. We'd eat here again when visiting. read more

My 92-year-old Mom and I enjoyed a delicious lunch of Southwest and Sweet Potato quesadillas. They were delivered nice and hot! The dipping sauce was yummy as well! And the portion size was so generous! A big thank you to the staff, especially our waitress, who were so accommodating and friendly. Taking an early morning ride to Shipshewana, a beautiful Amish town. It was so hot in Wakarusa yesterday over 100 degrees. The area here is so lovely. The countryside is dotted with smaller dairy and horse farms. The corn grows taller than us amongst a green carpet of soybeans. Surprisingly most of the restaurants open around 10 am. We see the ladies driving to work in their horse and buggies. We stumbled upon this little home town super busy restaurant that has home cooking, I had the Ham and Veggie Omelet and Dave had the , two scrambled, two bacon and two pancakes. Lovely, friendly servers and a crowd that seems to know each other. I'm enjoying our last days of freedom here, before we return to Covid ridden Florida. read more

Came here on a Saturday afternoon with friends. Seating is first come and the place was packed. Luckily we only had to wait about 15 mins before getting a seat. Everything we ordered was really good - I got a ham sandwich on the pretzel roll, my friends got chicken tenders and a salad. This little gem in Shipshawana is near the corner of routes 5 and 20 in the same building as Yoder Popcorn. Our party of 4 all ordered something different and it was all well prepared and yummy. Only open until 3 for breakfast and lunch. If you want to avoid the crowds at the big Amish buffets, I think you will find this a great alternative. read more

The seating was self-serve, which is fine do we had to wait on the table to be cleaned. The staff was speedy although there were only 2 of them waiting on the entire restaurant. We both had the noodle special. Mine was chicken and my husband's was beef. Both were made with canned meat. In the land of the best chicken and noodles in the land, these were just so so. It is a farmhouse style decor that is cute. I saw some of the other plates of food and it looked good but I can only review what I ate. read more

Very warm and friendly on entering the cozy space. Had a very friendly conversation with our waitress and ordered he beef and noodles over mashed potatoes. A large bowl was placed in front of me with lots of noodles and broth but very little beef. Broth and noodles were very flavorful but wish the potatoes were not powdered and had more flavor. Friend and I were having a go at Amish country, just driving around and visiting a few shops. As we were leaving the area, friend decided it was time to eat and pulled in to the Yoder Popcorn building. At the west end of the building was the Corn Crib Cafe and we decided to give it a try. We walked in to a fairly modern looking room and seated ourselves. We sat there for around 10 minutes watching the wait staff clear tables. Friend asked if I wanted to stay or leave as it felt like we were being ignored. I suggested we wait a few minutes to see what would happen. Finally I watched two women, who had come in after us, being given menus. I told friend about it and we got up to leave. A server came rushing over, apologized, and went to get menus for us. Within a minute of being handed the menus another server came over to get our orders. We had barely had a chance to peruse the menu and asked that she give us a few minutes. The server was back within 5 minutes to get our orders. We ordered water; friend a southwest chicken salad, me a southwest chicken quesadilla. The food came within 10 minutes. Friend said her salad was good; just the basic lettuce, cheese, chicken, tomatoes with a southwest dressing on the side. My quesadilla was hot and good. Chicken, cheese, peppers, onions(?). The only filling, however, was in the center part. I didn't eat an inch or so around the outside as it was just tortilla with a bit of cheese. Once we were recognized and served the place wasn't too bad. I'm not sure I'd go out of my way to stop here again. read more

We came into town for a show and decided to come here for breakfast. We found this place online and thought the menu looked good. We sat down and were greeted pretty quickly. We ordered and got our food quickly. The biscuits and gravy were a bowl of gravy with crumbled biscuits in the bottom. The gravy had very little sausage and very little flavor. Our waitress came back once more than half way through our meal to check on us. We told her our food wasn't very good and she offered to give us more biscuits. I asked for a water and never got one. We were never offered a coffee refill even though my cup was empty. The service was really terrible and ruined it for us. And on top of that the food was not good. We will not be back nor recommend it to anyone. read more

The Corn Crib Cafe is a great place to eat, especially if you're in the Shipshewana/Middlebury area. We went there for breakfast, but they also serve lunch. Everyone in my party got something different, and we all enjoyed our dishes. I got the Corn Crib hash which was delicious and very filling. Others in my party got the breakfast pizza, omelet, and egg breakfast. Everyone spoke highly of their dishes and especially of the homemade toast that accompanies almost every dish. Portions are large and prices very reasonable. You'll leave the Corn Crib Cafe with a full stomach and a happy wallet. read more

I ordered the grilled chicken spinach salad, which definitely did not disappoint. The chicken was clearly freshly grilled and the salad toppings were high quality, and portioned properly--bacon, cranberries, and hard boiled eggs. I am visiting from Los Angeles and found this little gem after visiting the local farm. I am not exaggerating when I say the best meal I've had in Indiana and best burger in my life! Even the raspberry iced tea and apple sauce were delicious. I will definitely be back before I leave. And I will continue to come here every time I visit family here. So good we ordered food to go! I visit Shipshewanna frequently (to purchase fabric). Was pleasantly surprised to find this little gem in a new group of buildings on the corner of 5 & 20, just before driving into the town. I've eaten here probably 5 or 6 times; the food has always been delicious and the wait staff friendly, attentive and efficient! There's good amish-style offerings but also excellent standard fare as well. My go-to is the Sweet Potato quesadilla. Husband loves their BLT. Peanut butter pie a must! read more
