I really wanted to like Snakeroot Botanicals, but the customer service left me disappointed…read more I came in specifically looking for loose-leaf herbal tea for my young child. Tea is normal in our family, and because he is little, I take the time to read every ingredient and choose something appropriate for him. I wasn't asking the staff to do that work for me. After settling on rooibos, I asked how the bulk tea worked and was told to scoop what I wanted into a bag and they would weigh it at the counter. I then asked a simple question: about how much does one scoop weigh? I was just trying to estimate whether I wanted two ounces, four ounces, or something in between. The answer was basically, "I don't know," with no attempt to help beyond that. That might sound small, but the entire interaction felt dismissive. If I'm standing in your shop with my child trying to buy a product you sell by weight, a little patience and basic assistance goes a long way. Kids can enjoy herbal tea too. Families have different traditions, routines, and food cultures. I wasn't looking for commentary or judgment. I was simply trying to buy tea for my kid. I left empty-handed and won't be returning.

When I find the perfect pair, I want them to last as long as possible. Unfortunately, averaging almost 20,000 steps per day, the soles of my shoes quickly disintegrate. Thanks be to God that I found Cento's Shoes. I like mom-and-pop shops; they have dedicated owners whose top goal is customer satisfaction. Cento's Shoes is the paradigm of a generational business, and its atmosphere arouses memories of yore: times when quality and craftsmanship mattered. I love my Samuel Hubbard shoes, and I was nervous for anyone, other than the manufacturer, to service them. My initial instincts were wrong. During my first visit, the owner and I discussed the perfect sole, based on comfort and durability. The following day, he texted me a picture of an available sole, which I accepted. In less than a week's time, the job was complete. The shoes were immaculate, shined to perfection, and all their various nicks and notches were repaired. The new soles provided a more comfortable wear than the originals. Cento's Shoes also sells a variety of shoes, care products, and an eclectic selection of hats. It's the kind of shop your grandfather visited on his way to Lovers' Lane. Cento's Shoe's is a must for anyone who owns fine footwear, and they have my highest recommendation.

One of the pairs, my Footjoy Classics Spikeless, stopped being produced in 2009 so I wasn't sure how difficult of a project this might be for Mike. Turns out they look better than they did when they were new! More support, better constructed, and they look brand new. Mike took a pair of shoes that were literally falling apart and brought them back to life, even better than before. These Footjoys look better than anything Footjoy sells these days! Mike did such a great job that I dropped off another pair when I picked up my last 2 pair. And I have about 3 more pairs of shoes that are in need of being recrafted, Cento Shoes will be wear I am taking them. The price is right at Cento Shoes and they carry all the good and necessary shoe care products to keep your shoes in great shape and well nourished.
