Royal Ave is amazing!! All of the staff are so sweet, the interior decoration is astounding, it showcases all of the works of the wonderful artists working there. Ash knows what she is doing and understands how to interact with all of her clients, and Russ is the most professional and skilled artist in the area. Their new staff are great too! If I ever have time to kill, I stop by and chat with their apprentice, Marco. They are doing so well in teaching her the skills necessary for this business! I highly recommend Royal Ave Tattoo for all of your tattoo and piercing needs. read more

My husband and I did a walk in for some wedding band tattoos, and they came out perfect! The studio was super clean, well organized, and everyone was super nice! Kelli was our artist, and she took the time to hear what we wanted, and whipped up a design super quick. They were clear on after care instructions and on their touch up policy (given we got finger tattoos). The tattoos are beautiful, meaningful, and we couldn't be happier! Thank you Kelli!!! read more

The shop was so clean and smelled fantastic (sometimes shops can be dingy, but this one was pristine). I was helped immediately by hunter who was so kind and patient. Hunter was a trooper and reapplied those stencils aiming for perfection each time. He has an extremely light hand and his lines came out perfectly. The owner and his partner are hilarious and gave great conversation to distract from the needle jabbing into your skin lol. Will definitely go back!! read more

I came in with 3 stuck piercings and Ashley saved the day. The whole process was quick and easy. She was super personable and gave me recommendations on aftercare and why they may have gotten stuck. The place was clean and a chill vibe. I definitely will come back! read more

Casey is very kind and talented. The atmosphere is welcoming and clean! I felt lucky to have been referred to Casey, because he was very happy to do my tattoo considering that it was something that interests him. So we had very good conversation throughout the process which absolutely helped with the pain. We also talked about art that I may want in the future. Which he also showed interest in! The precision of this tattoo shows the true skill of this artist. It just kept looking better and better lol and I was so confident the whole time. This was a great experience. Looking forward to coming back! read more

Very friendly artist. We both were same day walk ins and got two awesome tattoos. The music they played was well rounded.

Went here and the manager was very rude and disrespectful, didn't want to listen to anything I said and walked off. Highly don't recommend!!

I can only speaking on Ash the piercer.... She was awesome.. I used to have several ear piercings but because of issues healing I ended up having to take 4 out of 7 piercings out. I got my tragus pierced and there is no pinching or redness at all. There is a bit of swelling but that is to be expected. She did a fantastic job and walked me through the aftercare process!! She has her own room for privacy which is very nice and an incredible selection of earrings. My one advice:: Call and make an appointment! I found Royal Tattoo and Piercing thru a friend of mine who uses Jeremiah for most of his ink. read more

After being turned down several times by reputable piercers in California and New York, I had given up on ever piercing my septum. Until I met ASH!!! She took one look at my nose and knew exactly what to do. She took her time marking me perfectly, I took a deep breath, blew my breath out, and boom she was done!! I felt ZERO pain!!! That's when you know you've pierced correctly thru the "sweet spot" the only pain was when she had to slide the jewelry in. Healing took me 3 months. As long as you clean it under water during a shower you're good. Ash pierced up high, which is where the sweet spot is also by piercing high you can flip and hide your septum ring for work. Truly a spiritual experience. I waited 3 years for her. She's such a sweet heart and down to earth, cool AF love her!!!!! read more

even though smaller tattoos are difficult to execute I'm VERY happy how mine turned out! A dear to my heart meaning and idea came to life thanks to Hunter. he was eager to help and determined to work with my design that would translate well on my skin. Light handed, gentle, and supportive as this was my first tattoo after just turning 18. The place was clean and the environment was chill. I highly recommend this place! 4/5 rating only because my tattoo was a little pricey. read more

My daughter has been wanting her ears double pierced and her ear cartilage pierced. We decided to go to Royal Ave since we have had tattoos done here and we know they are a top notch shop. Never had any piercings though. She decides she wants the cartilage piercing and I am so glad we were here when BO was in!! Super patient. Super informative. Took his time. Answered all our questions. Invited us to take pics or film. He was fantastic. When I am ready for my nose piercing, I am coming back for BO to do it!! Thank you so much. read more

Its been a few years since I've been here, but when my husband and I decided to get matching wedding date tattoos, I knew where to come! Everyone working was super nice and professional, and made us feel right at home. Not to mention this place is SPARKLING clean! My best friend also came with, and we both decided to get piercings (ear). She got her snug pierced, and I got my rook pierced. Both of us have been healing so well and quickly without pain due to the aftercare instructions as well as the skill of the gentleman who pierced us. I HIGHLY recommend this shop for both tattoos and piercings. They will take their time to make sure you are going to be happy with their work, and they clearly love what they do! So lucky to have this place in Spring!! read more

Absolutely top notch. I can't even begin to explain how happy I am with the tattoo I received by Casey. He understood what I wanted, took the idea and absolutely turned it into the most beautiful piece of art I own. This is in memory of my sweet baby Bailey who was stillborn at 20 weeks, and he was able to incorporate her actual footprints. I'm just...speechless. I'll never use a different tattoo artist. He's got a customer for life. read more

My tattoo itself is great, I love it. Definitely would get another one from here. But trying to schedule an appointment is a bit difficult. I tried messaging their Facebook page and they were kinda slow to reply, then weren't able to fit me in until 2 hours after my requested time (but that means they're busy, so that's a good thing!) Gonna go ahead and give 5 stars tho, because the work is great and the guy was really nice (don't know his name but he has a beard) read more

I also wanted to point out Ashley and Russ they are both super sweet and down to earth as well! I didn't get to meet the whole crew as it was Friday the 13th so it was crazy busy! I first messaged this shop on Facebook, the reply times were very fast and worked with my schedule to schedule an appointment. The shot is really clean, smells great, artists and staff is nice and a chill group to be around. My artist J. Pruett was really cool, patient and open with me, exactly what you want in a tattoo artist. He knew what I wanted and even had some nice options of minor touches that really tied the piece in. His station was clean and organized and the piece came out exactly if not better than what I wanted. This shop just got a returning customer and would recommend this shop to everyone! read more

Amazing shop. Great atmosphere. Russ Bagwell did a great job on my leg. Every one in there is awesome. I have seen some really great work from every one there. Ash does amazing piercings. You will not find better jewelry any where. My girls belly button ring has swarovski crystals. That's pretty cool. Very classy. By far the cleanest shop I've ever been in, and really well decorated. Great vibe here. Just stop by and make your own opinion. This place speaks for itself. read more

This place is fantastic! Everyone here is super nice, and the work the artists do is incredible. The shop is clean and tastefully decorated. I've had most of my piercings done by Ash, and once I got one done by her I haven't seen anyone else. Even though I've been pierced quite a few times, I still get nervous each time, and she is super patient and caring. She took time to help me pick out my jewelry, and even let me browse her catalogues in case I wanted her to order me something. I won't go to anyone else for my piercings, and I can't wait to go to this place to get tattooed! read more

Here's an update on my cartoon tattoo. I just signed up to pay over $8,000.00 over the next 18 months to have this horrible tattoo I got at Royal Avenue burned off with a laser. This tattoo was supposed to be a significant statement. A source of pride, and an attractive piece. I hate it.every time I see it in the mirror I cringe. I never take my shirt off, even when I am home alone. I only get into my pool after dark. My advice to anyone thinking about getting their first tattoo is think some more. Don't be satisfied choosing a shop. Research the artist. This place came recommend by two people. The problem was they hired a guy who the owner later described to me as "a good biker, but a bad tattoo artist". His appraisal coming after the fact, was little comfort. To recap, I spent $250.00 for the initial tattoo. Two weeks later I paid another $250.00 to make I look less shity. Now I am paying$8,000.00 to rid myself of this blob of ink. I may yet get the tattoo I wanted. This time, I will have a gun in my hand. (Just kidding). But I will not let a good biker do it. read more

I could rave all day about Ashley. Not only is she absolutely beautiful, completely put-together AND has amazing energy but her piercing skills are top notch. I like that there is an entire separate floor for piercing and her space is SPOTLESS. She pierced my nostril and daith in 10 mins. Super easy and PAINLESS. I will definitely be going back next time I get the piercing itch. I will recommend her to all of my friends, family, and clients. read more

I got my first tattoo here yesterday and I have to say I am very happy with the results! My tattoo was done by Adam, an amazing artist, and a really funny guy! I'm very picky about tattoo shops but Ashley and Russ make you feel right at home! Not to mention Russ kills it with a needle and some ink. Having him do a half sleeve on me and so far I'm really digging it! I'm sure his other artists are great as well I just haven't had a chance to really check them out. There are very few people in Houston I would refer to get tattoos from but I've got to stand by Russ and Royal Ave, these guys are killing it! read more
