chicken wings
Jon G.

I had a pretty fun time, I'd definitely come back again. I decided to visit this place on a Wednesday at around noon time. Many lanes were open, attentive and friendly staff. My wife and I had ordered chicken and wings and I'd say they're an excellent side to have while your waiting for your turn to bowl. The items on the menu are reasonably priced; the cost per hour to bowl is acceptable. While the place has an "old school" vibe to it, essential things like the bathroom, the kitchen, the bowling computer system are modern and updated. The next time I visit, I might go when there's an event, like Rock n Roll and bowl, which i saw being advertised. I had fun, I'd come back, same time and probably opt for the same food on their menu!

a feast, an absolute spectacle, platters upon platters

My coworkers and I had a great time this past Monday morning. Eric was incredibly kind, attentive, warm, and welcoming. The restaurant staff were all lovely, too. Overall, we had a ton of fun, enjoyed a delicious meal (well.. collective feast, really - see attached photo), and started our Monday right. Thanks so much for the superb service, everyone! Looking forward to returning soon.

This review is for the restaurant. Can I just say that the restaurant, though not looking that impressive, actually serves good Asian food ??? It's just one of those things that you can't judge by the cover.Initially, I questioned, but my boyfriend has successfully convinced me that their chicken wings are really good. You know it's good chicken wings when the to-go box has to melt every time before you even reach to your car. I completely agreed with that. It's so good, yet it's so unhealthy because it's fried! But, it's so darn good! My favorite type of wings is salt and pepper. I believe there's also sweet and sour sauce, and that's also very good as well. My next favorites in line are the Mongolian beef, cashew chicken, and Wonton soup. The rice that the restaurant provides is very generous as well. Anyway, I don't gamble and bowl when I am at Roxy's Bowling Alley, but I am always in for the food at the restaurant. Give it a try sometimes!

Came here with a group of friends to celebrate a birthday. We had 3 lanes reserved (which I recommend doing ahead of time because it gets super busy on weekends). They have more lanes than most bowling alleys and everything was running smoothly even though it's pretty dated. There were plenty of bowling balls to go around and they actually had my small size in their shoes. The front staff were super nice and attentive, but it was a little difficult to get a drink in the bar, as the bar is a decent distance from the lanes. It's a good place for families and a decent bowling alley. They have a casino attached if you're into that and they also have a restaurant that has literally every type of food available, but they are known for their Asian food. It's worth going down for a fun night with family or friends.

Best wings around. All the food is great. It's kind of hard to believe this is a bowling alley place.

Not only do they have bowling but they also have board games, arcade games, and pool tables all for the enjoyment of students. I came here just for their bowling but it looked so fun I might just come back for their other activities. For bowling they allow you to play by the game or by the hour. They also allow you to book all 12 lanes for a private event. All of the prices are on their website and they were all pretty reasonable. They also have discounts for faculty, staff, and students. We played three games with two pairs of shoe rentals and the total came out to be about $30 with a UW staff discount. Our lane malfunctioned once but one of the workers was swift in helping us resolve the problem so we could continue having our fun. The facilities were pretty clean and overall we both had a great time. Most people were students but even as a visitor I still felt welcomed. It made me feel old being in the college atmosphere around all these youngins but at the same time I felt like I looked like them and probably could've fit right in. One thing that made me feel old though: the worker at the front asked for my ID and my mind defaulted to my driver's license and the worker replied, "Oh, I meant your student ID." Ouch.

Located inside Factoria Mall, the venue is large, with an arcade and prize game area in front of the mini golf course. My friends eagerly played some games to win novelty toys and tried the cotton candy maker. I played some pinball so if any of this sounds fun in addition to golfing, they have it here. The course as expected has about 16 holes, all with varying lengths, obstacles and angles. It's a lot of fun lining up different putts. The decor has a sort of comedic-horror art with a Washington theme and other mechanical props to add to the fun and ambience. The snag? The same issue I have at most mini golf places, people start to get bunched up behind you because their playing too fast/making their own rules or whatever. Were we playing too slow? Maybe. There were four of us and we played as quickly as we could but alas... Even the staff girl told us we're capped at 5 swings a piece at one point before we need to move on. Needless to say, by the end we had several impatient people waiting behind us. I know this isn't Monsters fault per se, but I repeatedly saw kids just putting the ball near the hole for easy shots to go faster or smaller children crying and jumping random holes out of order. Would love to do it again but perhaps on a weekday or a morning when there is less crowds.

There was a slight line for mini golfing. But it's so fun here. They have bowling too, but we…read moredidn't do that when we arrived. Very spooky themed and it was a blast to play. To mini golf you need to go in threes so that's something to keep in mind if you have large groups.

Time without number I've found myself here, be that first dates, my birthday, or New Year's Eve, and it always feels like home. If home were a clown/carnival themed acid trip of a pinball arcade bar, that is. And what's not to love about that? The bar tenders here are cool and friendly people who pour drinks with a heavy hand, and understand the mission: get the patrons who want to be drunk, drunk. The first few times I visited, I felt a leeriness about ordering food. But once I got over myself, I kinda fell in love with the menu, and I've probably eaten everything on it (including the clam chowder). Their hot dogs are wonders to behold, utter symphonies for the senses, and I refuse to visit Shorty's without getting one. Best dog in Seattle? Why yes. I think so. To paraphrase one reviewer: "Take your date here. If she doesn't like it, she's lame and you shouldn't waste your time with her anyways." Shorty's is the bomb.

That's not something paying customers want to hear. I ended up ordering a drink for myself while the guys were looking at the menu because they were doing a food hop, and us girls were doing a bar hop. During that time, the bartender came back to our table at least four times within about five minutes. Instead of being attentive, it felt pushy and aggressive, especially since they were still deciding what they wanted. I've been here a few times before, but after this experience, this will definitely be my last visit.

However, it was pretty clean and the rink is well maintained. They have both rollerskates and rollerblades in an extensive size range, including kids sizes. They also have elbow pads, wrist guards, and knee pads that you can borrow for free. I saw them actively sanitizing skates after use, which was good to see. I think the $20 feet is a bit steep, but not terribly unreasonable. The staff was nice, they could've been a little more energetic but overall they were doing a good job. I liked the music selection, a good mix of everything! The flashing lights were a little intense for me, but it added to the atmosphere which I can appreciate. We decided to come here and while he was doing his tournament we would bowl and maybe skate and play some billiards. However, for two lanes, the total for 7 people it cost us $350 in total to bowl. What a total rip off! My son didn't even get matching shoes, the balls provided had many chips, and one of our consoles was not even working properly! When we told them of the problem they were not helpful at all. We just dealt with it. The skating rink was also very smelly and smelled like feet and the billiards tables were poorly kept as well as the sticks provided. For the price we paid the bowling wasn't even exciting as it wasn't even cosmic bowling. I can't believe people actually go here! We will not be coming back here to bowl, skate or play billiards!

Came here for a date after passing it numerous times bumping around downtown…read more I've always pegged this place as sort of a more local Dave & Busters and it sort of is on a smaller scale. Food, drinks and of course a bunch of games to play. Difference here is they seem to host ESports and other games beyond arcade games which is cool. This particular visit was kind of like a Classic play some games and laugh along the way rather than expect to find gem games of days gone by or even present. There is a good assortment of light gun, classic fighters and of course DDR which they were real generous with - 6 credits on a swipe which is like 9 song/sets! There is a bar but it's kind of basic compared to the afformentioned Dave & Busters, which makes that part of their identity. Also the person selling me the game card was fast on talk, and slow on the explanation of how things work which could've been better. It was nearing close so I wasn't going go through the whole rundown. Fun time here if you're looking for something to do in the area, but a Barcade or Dave & Busters will do the job all the same.

So, I am glad he had a good time. But I don't think I will go back to GameWorks in the future, even for special events. First, the loud noise and flashing lights made me feel like I was in a casino for kids. Something creepy about the vibe there. Second, there was no real air conditioning on a hot summer day, just these mobile a/c fans that blew cold air and were quite loud, adding to an already noisy place. Third, the games were very expensive. You have to buy a card for game credits and swipe that card whenever you play a game. We calculated later that it was cost us $1.60-2.30 PER GAME. That is including vintage games like Frogger and Ms. Pacman and other games like Operation, Skeeball, and driving games that only give you one life. Growing up in the 70s and 80s, I went to A LOT of arcades as a kid and teen. I don't expect places to be like the arcades I went to back then, but I do expect a fair and decent exchange for my money for the experience of playing a video game. Three lives/tries per fee is a fair exchange. GameWorks is nothing like that, and for that reason, along with others I've given here, I won't be back.
