This is a family gym - and has the vibes to match. From the children learning to swim in the large pool area to the childcare and classes, this place really supports health for the entire family. The sauna is hot, and large enough to make sense, and the towel service provides a nice experience for individuals wishing to have a spa like beginning or end to their workout sessions. I will always be grateful to this club for its cheery vibes during the dark, Seattle winter days.

Their preschool classes are great to get kids active, learn body control and strength and flexibility, and just have a good time. I didn't expect that my oldest was going to fall so hard for the sport but last year she did Pre Team and this year she is in her first year on the Xcel Team and she loves it. I didn't know a kid could spend six hours in the gym each week and not get bored or tired of it but she's never once said she was either. The coaches that have been there for some time are really great. They have the correct approach to building a solid team and encouraging positivity and confidence. They move from one activity to the next to keep kids engaged. They assist when needed but also allow for independence. My oldest has grown in her skills but also in her ability to take direction, be a strong member of a team, and in her confidence. I expect we have many more years at SGA. Yes, it can be difficult to get into some classes and yes, they can have high turnover in staff, but once you find your right fit there and stick with it, it has a great welcoming feel to it.

Although, if they work at front desk, they should say hello to patrons. My only gripe after visiting other YMCAs is the cleanliness. I think they only clean it once a year in the fall. The weigh room is ALWAYS filthy -- dusty fans and floors. Not sure if they clean the studios and showers. The bathrooms are not that clean as well. I've seen urine and feaces on the floor and the showers upstairs don't look clean either. They really should hire a cleaning staff that cleans regularly throughout the day especially since so many people come through. The plus side is most of the instructors are great and the pool is clean. There's also a lot of community events like clothing drives and back to school donations that are great.

I am so happy they were able to stay open through pandemic closures! First the coaches are wonderful. They are kind and welcoming to my child, they know her well and greet her warmly. The coaches are skilled at teaching young people gymnastics, and help the kids have fun and learn. The facility is really fun for kids. They have a good variety of activities and keep the class sizes appropriately sized for the facility. My child loves the trapeze and trampoline best. She works hard each week to improve, and she is inspired by her coaches. Birthday parties at Jungle Gym are popular with my child and her friends. Get the bouncy house! The zip line is also a special treat. The owner is responsive to my questions and communicates important info with flyers in the space and emails about holiday schedules, billing, and special programs like camps and parents' night out. They also use a scheduling app that's pretty simple. Thank you Jungle Gym! You have been good to our family and we are glad you're here! Burien loves you!

The airplane-themed play structure has truly unique features that kids will love, plus exercise equipment for grown-ups -- and there's a super special bonus for kids who love transportation. Definitely put this artsy, historic Seattle neighborhood on your route.  1. The unusual, two-story, globe-shaped merry-go-round spins and doubles as a climber with cargo netting all around. Hop inside or climb up the outside. 2. A totally fun hydraulic descending platform thingy is a little hard to describe but enthralling to kids. Children step onto a small, circular platform with a central pole (with hand-holds) and the platform slowly descends to the ground under their weight. Once the child steps off, the platform slowly rises back to its starting position. 3. A cargo net climber and other climbing elements encourage balance and age-appropriate risk-taking. There's as a small rock-climbing ramp for younger kids, a stretch of enormous, twisting rope, fabric platforms and a curving blue slide. 4. Flexible rubber "ramps" are irresistible to young climbers. One has hand-holds for littler kids. Scramble up these pathways to hop on and ride the hydraulic descender. 5. Colorful bells, a huge xylophone and other giant musical instruments invite sensory play. 6. Swings! The spacious swing set features two accessible swings, two regular swings and two baby swings. 7. Exercise equipment for grown-ups (and teens) means you can squeeze in a little workout while your kids go bananas on all the cool play structures. Try the elliptical trainer. There is also a tennis court and while it doesn't look like it was part of the renovation, it appears totally serviceable. A half-court basketball court invites shooting baskets, and a huge soccer field hosts official games for teams of all ages but is also open for public play at other times. These highlights are just the beginning of the fun features at this park. Pathways are accessible and there are new benches adjacent to the play area. The spray park, and there is a small covered picnic area and other seating, plus a restroom. Transportation bonus: Train tracks run right by the park and the Georgetown neighborhood's proximity to Boeing Field mean planes fly in low and loud. It's great fun for the young transportation buff.
