I'd hang out at Hiawatha Community center being a punk like the rest of my friends. First off you had the basketball courts inside for shooting hopes and ping pong table in lobby area. I'd use the field for soccer practice and and when I entered high school we used that field for soccer and football practice.... Not much has changed over the years but I'm happy it's still around for the new punks coming up.

I wasn't even near the gym but okay she was just letting me know the rules....I guess. Then the same person told my 7 year old "Do not play near the vending machines" . Well ,okay I mean, what kids aren't fascinated with this amazing machines! Someone stood guard at the gym door checking for food and drinks. I just saw the parents turn back saying "oh, I'm so sorry about that" with their coffee contraband in the hands. The ref that day yelled at the players constantly throughout the game. Absolutely terrible, aggressive and abusive of power. The kids looked shocked. Then they told my son who was PLAYING IN THE GAME that he couldn't drink sparkling water ( I guess regular water was fine?). Wow. I get that we are not from High Point. We have an all white team on both sides from the other side of Seattle. I worked in High Point for years with this community and loved it. I was talking up High Point for days before we got there. It was so sad, c'mon guys we are all humans! Seeing this made my heart hurt. But don't worry, I remained composed and polite.

Way too noisy at the computers when kids are in there and allowed to disrupt people trying to use the computers for work, job applications, etc, though. It would be better if they reconfigure the space to allow a separate noisy area, closed off, rather than expecting everyone else to accommodate the noise, They do allow laptop checkout, offer headphones, etc.

He sent me to an investment firm ("we're all family here"), and proceeded with a three hour PowerPoint presentation and selling tactics for 3 Hours, wanting my retirement funds at a 1% interest rate QUARTERLY, to help me "navigate retirement ". My advice it's to not trust the social workers.

I attend Monday evening water aerobics class and I always enjoy it! My personal trainer is Jason. He is phenomenal and really cares about his clients. I highly recommend either him or Zac S. if you are looking for a good personal trainer. The facilities are a mix of older equipment and newer equipment, but they do keep the areas clean. The building is a bit older, but it doesn't bother me. They also offer cryotherapy and massage. I will say that parking is a real pain. It can be so challenging finding parking, especially on weekday evenings. A massive headache! I wish they would address this and find solutions. It is a bit more expensive than some other gyms in the area, but you get a large selection of classes and services that you may not get at other area gyms. Otherwise, I highly recommend WSHC for your fitness needs. It's a great gym! Chauna and the entire management team are great and very responsive.

This is a family gym - and has the vibes to match. From the children learning to swim in the large pool area to the childcare and classes, this place really supports health for the entire family. The sauna is hot, and large enough to make sense, and the towel service provides a nice experience for individuals wishing to have a spa like beginning or end to their workout sessions. A very nice park in a good location!…read more There are turf sports fields (football, baseball, soccer-all on same lot), baseball batting cages, tennis courts, a wading pool, swing set, jungle gym, and lots of benches! Let's not forget the GIANT grass field behind the Hiawatha building that summer concerts are held at! It is located right next to a Safeway and across the street from a fancy sandwich shop, so picnics are very easy events to plan or to execute on a whim! On sunny afternoons you will find an abundance of children and on rainy days it us pretty quiet. Solid family park.
