I'm not one to write bad reviews, but I think this is an important "buyer beware" situation. Since moving into my apartment in Feb. 2022, I've had my car battery die on me somewhere between five and 10 times. I originally wondered if this could have something to do with my apartment building's garage - or other tenants. Recently I discovered that it has more to do with AAA's local service provider, Rowlett Towing, which was assigned to me after moving here. They first replaced my battery in March 2022, and this was an old battery that was past its prime, so it seemed like a good service. But strangely, I kept running into issues with my car dying in my garage, and I called AAA, who kept sending Rowlett. They jump-started my car a couple times before replacing the battery again in August 2022, but it was more of the same. The jump-starts became more and more frequent, until I realized it was a "fool me twice, shame on me" situation. I took my car to a mechanic, who confirmed the battery (not my alternator, not an external drain) was the problem. I was pretty bummed to learn Rowlett Towing gave me two defective batteries in a row, and I was even more annoyed later that day, when I requested a tow to the local AutoZone (so I could buy a functioning battery). The driver was incredibly rude, insisting the battery wasn't the problem and arguing about taking me to my destination. He also threatened to drop me off in the street, which luckily he didn't end up doing, and told me AutoZone wouldn't install the battery (they did). Maybe he was just annoyed to have lost a customer. Anyway, I wish Rowlett Towing weren't my local service provider for AAA, but they are, so I hope I can make others aware. I've already let AAA know. This was a terrible experience. I called AAA because my car broke down. They sent this company out. The first person they sent out was banging on the under carriage with something to try and get the problem solved. Didn't even ask just started banging on it! Then he left and they sent another person out. AAA said that they would be fine with me not there because it is my car and the insurance showed my name on it. They wouldn't accept it and so they cancelled our tow because AAA didn't put this in their notes. I guess that's not their fault. But they wouldn't answer the phone either when I called to see what's up. Bad service AAA shouldn't use them and I will tell them this. read more

They are a towing company outsourced by AAA. On a road service call they arrived in a timely manner and the service was good. They charge a 4% convenience fee for using a credit card without telling you about it or if there are any other options for payment, which is a bit deceptive. read more

I used to live in the area serviced by this company and used them many times through AAA roadside service. But today we called them to tow our car which wasn't working. It was in a tricky spot and for a couple of reasons we also needed a flat bed. My husband and I just dreaded the whole process. It's hard when only one driver shows up. But this time we had two service technicians. Sal and Michael were absolutely fantastic. So helpful and so kind. They both went above and beyond the regular service I've received in the past. Had another positive experience with Rowlett towing a few weeks ago. The usual, fast, friendly and efficient. I told my husband, the come really fast so be ready for them. The only issue is dealing with AAA and their new system where you can't talk to a human and have to do it online. It will usually say "In Progress" so you have to keep checking and it seems to always send them down the street a couple of houses. read more

ONE OF THEIR DRIVERS HIT MY CAR WITH THEIR TOW TRUCK. He didn't even seem phased that he drove right into me. He (wouldn't give his name every time I asked) called his boss (Felipe) and they were being SO SKETCHY and wouldn't provide their insurance information or the drivers license and tried to persistently get me to fix it under the table at an auto shop. I spoke to the owner of the company on the phone and he was disgustingly rude. Literally yelled at me and hung up on me, when I was politely and simply relaying to him what happened - that his tow truck driver wasn't looking where he was going and drove right into my brand new vehicle and the side of my car got badly damaged! Couldn't even open the side door; it was all dented in and the handle broken. There was a gentleman getting his car towed by Rowlett when all this happened and couldn't believe what he saw either. (If you see this comment and that was you, please message me. I wanted to get your contact details in case I needed a witness, but silly high shock kicked in and I didn't). This took place in Laurel Canyon. These guys are total and complete CROOKS. They are a car towing company and don't even have car insurance, WHAT!!?!?! Isn't that illegal? Repulsive behavior. THEY are AT FAULT and refusing to cooperate in any sort of proper resolution. My interaction with Felipe was the most abhorrent customer/business interaction I've had in my entire life. They had to be dispatched by AAA 3 times. They never one called or gave me an update even when they were an hour past their original quote time. I'm patient. I do t mind waiting. My father has owned a tow company - I have awareness of the reality of their job. Which is why I normally tip drivers and/or technicians and always patient when there is communication. I specially requested (All 3 times) to NOT bring a flat bed due to my parking situation. "Please bring a wheel truck." - The driver finally shows up with a flat bed, of course. And request I put it in neutral and wheel it out. I asked him for help and he refused. He said he was going to turn the truck around at the end of the street - 10 minutes later I finally manage to wheel my car out with my roommates assistance; however the driver was now gone. Left. No call, no warning. No explanation. He said go get the car. 10 minutes later, him and his flatbed are gone. This was on a Saturday. I ended up waiting until Monday morning to get them out to tow again. BECAUSE AAA only dispatches calls to them unfortunately - the experience was better after telling AAA dispatch all that happened . read more

I needed to get towed to a nearby auto repair shop and contacted my insurance Roadside Assistance. They contacted four tow companies, I called each, and all four canceled because of the location. My car was at a residential house with an uphill driveway. All four of these companies said they could not help me because of the site and the risk of damaging the vehicle. Mind you, not one stopped by to check out the area. My steering wheel was locked, and the ignition lock cylinder was busted. I did not know what to do. I could not move the car even if I wanted to. I contacted Rowlett Towing, and they were the only ones who did not hesitate to send someone, and they sent the best; fast Eddie. He arrived in a short amount of time, and when I say quick, I mean it. Within minutes, this guy was able to move and hook up my car with ease. The hill did not even faze him. He was super patient, friendly, and made non-stop hilarious jokes. I had a rough day, and this guy made it 1000 times better within minutes. He gave me a ride to the mechanics. I am beyond thankful to fast Eddie and this company overall! When things turned to the worst, and everyone you call says no, they were the ones who came through in the end. My brand new 24 BMW X7M60I was stuck in a low clearance parking garage in my building when it decided not to start. BMW Roadside Assistance could not even help me to get it out, so I called AAA. To my suprise Rowlett Towing was dispatched to assist me. When I called to see the ETA Gio picked up. He told me to hold tight and that he had 2 trucks on the way. Within 3 minutes and me barely lighting my cigarette on the balcony, 2 trucks pulled into the alley. The 2 drivers, Gio, with the wheel lift and Angel with the flat bed, were the best towing employees I have ever seen! They assured me they would help me and not leave! They went into the garage and pushed my BMW towards the entrance from the parking spot. Gio positioned his wheel lift to extracate my car from the garage. To say it was a tight fit is an understatement! The garage entrance was located in an alley, and there was a wall right across from the garage entrance to add to that. The precision that Gio had while Angel guided him was amazing. These guys went above and beyond what they had to do. I would recommend Rowlett to anyone in need. They service the valley as well. I said great let's do it and literally Sako, our assigned tech was there in less than 5 minutes! (He was already in the area finishing another jog). I never thought i would rate a towing company but here it is, the towing company you should always use. I got a flat tire on my new Lucid all electric vehicle by running over a pothole. I exited the 101 S/B freeway and parked at the AMPM gas station. Called AAA who dispatched Rowlett Towing. With 5 minutes I got a call from Sal the driver stating he would be there in 10 minutes. I couldn't believe it was even possible. No more then 10 minutes later he arrived with his assistant driver Michael and changed my tire. Lucky for me I had a spare. But changing the tire of the Lucid is not that easy. He was knowledgeable, personable, and really took care of my car. In all the years of using AAA i never met tow drivers like them. Saul was very understanding of my situation and was very compassionate keeping me in good spirits despite the fact that my mom's car's coolant pipe broke. He even took a very creative precaution as to not damage the tow mount on my mom's car in order to get the car safely onto the bed of the truck. He did so by using 4x4's to get the wheels up high enough to the tow mount didn't hit the ground on the way up. Heads up: This review is clearly written by someone who knows jack s*** about cars. Already a bad Monday, my car ended up dying while I was trying to get to work. There was an odd clicking sound and a flickering of the lights on the dash (it was daytime so I couldn't tell if anything was up with the headlights). Thankfully, I was just outside the parking garage, but I still had to deal with worrying about my car being there the rest of the day since I didn't have an approximate time I would be finished. I was informed by others it could possibly be the starter or the alternator-whatever the hell either of those are-while I'm just praying it was a dead battery, since I had a ballpark of how much that would cost, and I knew it could be fixed quickly. Called AAA on the walk back to my car, and knew I would be in for a wait. Rowlett took about 40 minutes to get there, but I was already informed that it may take a while due to the time I had called so I was prepared. When I saw a truck zoom right down the path, I had a feeling it was the towing company. Gomez was super cool, even though he had to wait 5+minutes to be patched onto the lot by security (the garage I was outside was right next to security check-in which was a good thing). He let me know what was going on every step of the way, and he was less than 20 minutes total once he started checking everything. Grateful this was an easy fix, and that it was done by such helpful people. I've usually dealt with Carmel Towing but I realize I am normally over the hill in a different part of LA. If I could give them 0 stars I would. I got in a car accident on a Friday afternoon and was shaking up pretty bad as my car was an overturned vehicle. Luckily I was able to get out of the car with out major injuries. I called triple A for a tow to get my car and take 2 passengers (my boyfriend and myself). When they arrived they told me they couldn't get my car after informing them on my request on triple A that my car was an overturned vehicle. Thankfully they were able to do it but didn't to take us with them. We called the tow company inquiring about our belongings and a man on the phone told we could not get anything because they were closed. He said it is not his problem about what our situation is. After a car accident the last thing that we needed was just extra attitude from people who were suppose to help us. They are unprofessional, rude, and the owner is out of line. We have already spoken to tripe A about filing a complaint against them. Beware. After a call AAA for battery problem somebody from Rowlett Towing showed up without proper tools. They did connect the battery properly which caused the alternator and fuse box to short out the very next day. I got connected to this company by AAA. they are so unprofessional and rude. I drive a 2021 mercedes benz c63s and it got a flat so i needed a tow. they had no estimate of pick up time so AAA suggested i call to see the exact time because i wanted to go eat and come back. I called and whoever i spoke to was horrible. I asked them the ETA since it said driver was on the way, and he said he had no ETA they're super short staffed and it's probably around 1-2 hours, understandable but i was told by AAA i was top priority next on list to be towed because i was in a unsafe location. I asked if there were other people ahead and they said yes which was confusing because it said driver was in route to me. Then he started asking what i needed. I said a tow and he replied you don't have a spare tire? and i said no. He's like are you sure ???? which i replied yes im absolutely sure i checked. He's like okay so what do you need a patch? and im like no sir a tow, i just need a tow. he goes those cars have run flat tires you can drive on a flat if you need a tow so bad. (My car absolutely does not have run flat tires and if i were naive enough to believe that i would have ruined my rim and causes a lot of damage to my car) I told him No i don't have run flat and he said yes you do you can drive x amount of miles on it, drive if you can't wait we will get there when we can. I replied im not stupid, i know what kind of tires i have, my tire is completely deflated and looks like it ripped i am NOT driving on it. and he hung up real quick. what kind of tow company would ever suggest i drive on a flat. That is the worst advice i've ever heard and thank god i know what kind of tires i have. he called AAA and told them he didn't feel safe picking me up lol. Horrible don't recommend. read more

I've read some of the bad reviews & have experienced many of these issues w multiple towing companies. My experience w Rowlett was amazing. I needed my McLaren towed from LA to San Diego thru AAA. They went thru 15 lame ass companies before Rowlett took the job. The driver was very experienced w exotic cars in using wood to get the car on w/o damaging the carbon fiber splitter. He also used the tie down straps correctly on the wheels w/o damaging the car's body. I had a small window to get the car to SD in two hours before their closing time. They got to my home w/in the one hour AAA time. Everyone knows to use Mr C's for exotics on a flatbed. Rowlett, I have to highly recommend. read more
