Allowing my son to get his items from his Truck .. unfortunately a Selfish irresponsible Driver man of in his 40"s to 50"s driving a Mercedes slammed into my son's beautiful Truck and his mother in laws Honda .. demolished both family cars ... on the street .. In a delicate time of NO sleep and phone calls dealing with insurance company's these gentlemen made the process easy ... Honestly if there would be such an award for the best tow yard ., Girards would be it .. i believe that under any circumstances no one wants to find themselves in a tow yard, but if you ever gind yourself in such a situation let it be at Girards .. my situation was not a pleasant one , my car was towed here by P.D for reasons i wont mention, but point is when i went to pick up my vehicle, i was Greeted by Joey at the front desk and he was extremely personable and accommodating.. my vehicle was not in driving conditions due to blown out tires ..and required a tow , home .. he offered several options so that i would not continue to acquire fees, he also let me inspect my vehicle , and made sure that it was an option that worked out in my favor .. to cut this short .. I ended up driving my vehicle home that same day with a new set of tires and rims for a very affordable price , Joey orchestrated everything and rounded up the crew like Nascar and saved the day ..this whole team was and is very compassionate, he kept repeating "we are not the bad guys and are here to help" and thats exactly what they did!! For me Joey and his team were a god send .. and i hope that anyone finding themselves in any difficult situation. Can find some one like him .. also i personally met whom i believe is the owner .and he also was very endearing and helpful .. never have a i had or expected to have a pleasant experience .at a tow yard .. but this is one for the books .. be kind people!! I was hit and my car was totaled. The Burbank police called this tow company to move my car out of the street. I had to use them at that point instead of my car insurance's tow company or this company would charge me to unhook the car and for the move. Fine, I let them tow my car until my insurance could come and pick it up. Everything was fine and ordinary until I got the detailed report and photos of my car from my insurance company. Someone at the tow yard had removed and stolen parts out my car while it was in their possession. So now pieces of the car were missing inside and the insurance adjuster was trying to deduct money and offer me less money than my car was worth because this tow company began looting pieces of my car before the insurance came to look at it. (I'll never know if any personal items went missing as well, since i didn't keep an inventory of what was in the car at the time of the accident). I do not recommend using this tow yard because pieces of your car might be ripped out while it's there. read more

I was in an accident and they were the company that showed up to pick up my car. Their driver was very clear about what was going to happen and where the care was going. When I asked about retrieving items he had already put the car on the truck. He let me know where it was going and that I was welcome to come to the yard and get my items. We went directly there and they were very helpful and brought the car to me. A few days later I was advised by my insurance to that they did not know how far the car was going to be taken to their yard and if I wanted anything to try and get it before it was moved. I went directly to Girard & Peterson. The person was there to take the car so I was lucky. They brought the car to me again and even provided a bag so I could get everything. The staff was respectful and helpful. I can't say enough about how easy they made it for me. The hardest part was watching my car get taken away with the strong possibility that I would never see it again. Thank you for making a bad situation a little better by all your help. read more

I can't imagine people giving good reviews to tow yards, simply because in most instances it's because they did something wrong to get them there. In our instance, there was a freak fire started from a flammable liquid that was ignited that ran down the gutter that our car was parked next to. Our car was totaled and the fire department had our vehicle towed by Girard & Peterson. When I called, the gentleman who answered was extremely friendly. He was sympathetic to our unique situation and informed us there was very little left of our vehicle. He said if we came in that day with the title and signed it over, there would not likely be a charge. Worst case scenario we would be responsible for half the charges. So when my husband got home, we head over to see the damages. There was a Hispanic lady who was not very pleasant. Given my husband was a bit perturbed when she went over the bill , she just didn't have very good customer service skills. We ended up paying $214 and signing the title over to them. I asked if we could see the car and this extremely friendly, older gentlemen said he'd get it. (Apparently they put a couple tires on to roll it around). The car was bad. But we were able to salvage our daughters gym equipment and a few things inside the car. We took photos for future lawsuit once fault of the fire was determined. And then started talking to the gentleman. Turns out, he was Girard, the owner. We got into a conversion about his business. He's a legend here in Burbank and my husband and his family were very familiar with him and several of his businesses. He really was the sweetest man. Totally honest and fair. His female employee could use some customer service training, but the overall experience was a positive one, considering the negative circumstances that brought us there. I have Auto Club insurance with AAA towing, but the Burbank Police officers at the accident scene said AAA commonly takes at least 45 minutes to arrive (true); and, my car could be towed very soon to a tow yard nearby so they could clear the intersection. I agreed, and arrived at this gated, clean, comfortable customer waiting area with various cell phone chargers, clean restroom, boxes and bags to put your stuff in, and friendly, helpful staff. Everyone was extremely helpful. Particularly, Jose and Joey Rodriguez in the office were so supportive for the 5 hours it took me to report the accident, rent a car, arrange a ride home, and arrange a AAA tow for the following day. (Ultimately my car had to spend the night there until the tow truck could come in the morning). Joey was my connection between me and my tow companies. He kept me posted when the car was on its way to me. These people were EXCEPTIONAL in every way! They were a good thing about a bad situation! read more

I was recently involved in an accident and my car was towed to this yard. My insurance company asked me to release my car so that they could send a Tow Truck. I called G&P and let them know it needed to be released so that the vehicle could be towed to the tow yard. The employee confirmed that it did need to be released-- at which point I asked for it to be released. G&P informed me that the car was released and the Tow Truck could pick it up. I made sure to ask if there was anything else on my part that needed to be done to which I was told no. This was March 25th. The tow company has called and on 3 occasions tried to pick up the car. They were told each time the car has not been released. Today, March 31st, 2022, 1 week later, Nationwide called and this time G & P stated that it again had not been released. Same statement, multiple times, but now to 2 different entities. Today, March 31st, 2022, I called to which I was told it had not been released. Now, this statement was told to 3 different parties.--- As the phone call continued the employee told me "oh, right here it says in the notes that the car was released on the 25th" -- at which point I asked why it would not be given to the tow truck driver, and I was told "Nooo, well it was released to Nationwide not the tow company." Yes, i was told that. Doing my best not to come off as rude or sarcastic, I explained that Nationwide, just like Allstate, Mercury, and Farmer's do not have employees driving around in tow trucks-- the tow companies are contracted out. To which he said they needed a work oder from Nationwide for them to release it to the tow company. They already knew it needed to be released to Nationwide.. HOW? Through email and calls! So those emails are not valid "work orders?"then I was told the work order was not to tell them what to do, but rather it was for consent! What consent? Nationwide does not own the vehicle in title, nor does it have physical possession, thus they cannot consent to giving MY car to anyone, only I can, unless of course I gave permission for someone else to consent on my behalf. Furthermore, if they needed a work order why didnt they tell the yow company when they contactes then multiple times? Why did they say it had not been released? I seriously can't tell if a bunch of mistakes were made or if they are doing it on purpose to rack up fees. OH AND TRUST ME G&P KNEW IT HAD TO GO TO NATIONWIDE. YOU THINK TOW YARDS FOR A SECOND DON'T KNOW WHERE THE MINEY IS SUPPOSED TO COME FROM. If a car is in the lot and someone has weeks of storage fees ready to Pay, but is short one day they will happily let someone lose a vehicle worth thousands so they can make money off the car and seize it, Thankfully, I never had to deal with a situation like that, but places like this just add to the stereotype of tow yards and tow companies. Their customer service is non-existent.. lol.... Because most times people don't choose to do business with them... they get cho..i mean towed. I wish I could give this company 0 stars. My fiancé was in an accident and her car was left immobile from the impact. The Burbank Police department insisted that Girard and Peterson tow the vehicle instead of allowing AAA to tow the vehicle to our apartment. No one told us that the fees would be $271 for towing (their hourly rate, please keep in mind that the yard where they towed the vehicle was less than a mile away) and an additional $100 for stowing the car there for less than 24-hours. When I spoke to the person at the counter I was told that there was nothing that they could do about the fees, and then conveniently offered to wave the $370 in fees if signed over the title. Wow, what a great deal. This is illegall. My fiancé did not break any laws and therefore her vehicle is not subject to the same fines or storage fees that would be incurred if the vehicle had to be towed or impounded due to illegal activities. When we contacted the Burbank Police department they were of no help either. I plan on pursuing this further and finding out how Girard & Peterson came to have a contract with the Burbank Police Department to be their de-facto towing company and why the towing and storage rates are way above market rates. We did not give consent to have the vehicle towed using their services and we had a tow truck from AAA waiting to take the vehicle away. Again, neither the vehicle or my fiancé were involved in any illegal activity and she was simply the victim in an accident where a driver ran a red-light and struck her vehicle. If anyone else has had a similar incident involving the Burbank Police Department and Girard & Peterson, I urge you to reach out to me. I am in the process of requesting information on how Girard & Peterson had a formal contract with the city, and if so, did they bid for it and are the rates they charge inline with other towing companies. I plan on requesting information to see if the City of Burbank or the Burbank Police Department received any revenue from Girard & Peterson for their contracted services through the Freedom of Information Act. Preying on people who have just been in an automobile accident and holding their vehicles hostage is not only unconscionable, but illegal and predatory. It's not about the money, it's about accountability and decency. Shame on you Girard and Peterson! And shame on the city of Burbank for working with this predatory company. I look forward to Girard & Peterson's response, but I caution them against trying to have this review removed. I have the receipt for towing services and fight any efforts to remove this review. Everything I have written is 100% accurate and I have irrefutable proof. Citizens are not a form of revenue for the City of Burbank or the predatory companies that work with them. The job of the City of Burbank is to look out and protect their citizens from this type go behavior, not condone or enable it. Paid the fees, my truck was sitting in their parking lot for less than half an hour. While I did the paperwork. These blood sucking leeches still charged me the $60 storage fee on top of the $225 for the impound. I even got attitude from the well-fed receptionist. She was mad at me for getting my truck out the same day. Seemed like most of tow truck drivers were pretty proud of themselves. I'd love to be there one day when the tables are turned, & their car gets towed. Just to see the look on their face. Special place in hell for parasites of this sort. Never would have thought I'd leave a five star review for an impound lot but the kindness that Carlos showed me today deserves recognition. I had to come to the impound to retrieve some belongings from my partners vehicle, which took several hours. Carlos was so incredibly helpful, he offered me trash bags for the things I didn't need, and came by periodically to offer cold water, as it was quite hot outside and even hotter inside the car. He truly went above and beyond his position and sets a wonderful and necessary example for his co-workers, some of whom were not as friendly. read more

My daughter smashed up my 16-year-old Honda on the freeway, and it was towed to Girard. The receptionist, a young lady, was remarkably hostile. When I wanted to see the car, she asked for ID and registration. I showed her both my license and pink slip. However, she wouldn't return the pink slip when I wanted to go outside to inspect the car until I insisted. The car started right up despite significant front-end damage (because Honda). So, when I came back to start negotiating a reduced towing and storage rate in lieu of the title, she refused to consider anything more than their normal discount, even though we were $27.50 apart. I told her, firmly but politely, that if I walked out of there without a deal, I would probably file a small claims court suit for conversion (taking my car without an agreement to do so), and that it would consume vastly more money and time than $27.50. She claimed I was threatening and intimidating her, as if I was being violent. I told her that's not a threat; simply my process for handling this matter. When I asked if she was the owner, she retorted, "my name isn't Girard!" I had to repeatedly insist that her boss come out. Mr. Girard, the owner, then appeared, and instantly accepted my offer. He was also unfailingly polite, and even gave me some souvenir pens. He actually rolled his eyes at Veronica. Mr. Girard made the experience nearly painless, but that was mitigated by the conflict conferred by his bulldog receptionist. read more

My car was towed to this site and held by the burbank police department. They wouldnt release the car to me until 2 weeks later and the fees were $1500. (I guess more so Burbank fault than the tow company). As soon as i leave the police department i go to get my property from my car. im accompanied by 2 men, one has an attitude because its 20 minutes before closing and makes a comment about it. (I understand however youre still on the clock so dont have an attitude w me). I get to the car & it looks like a tornado hit it! Everything was everywhere, my purse turned upside down & dumped out, glove box broken w everything in it on the floor, etc. I get my things and thats that. No paperwork no details about the tow or anything. A week later (today) i call up there and ask if id still be able to get the rest of my things. (I was in an Uber the first time so i could only take so much). I am told my car was sold today, all my stuff was thrown out, and the trash company came and cleared their dumpster so theres really nothing they can do. My problem with them was that they never let me know they were going to sell my car or throw out my things. Not over the phone not in person. I own a cleaning business & still had at least $3,000 worth of equipment in there. Im over the car but to throw all my stuff out without warning is messed up. read more

Not trust worthy, unethical in their dealings. I would not recommend this business to anyone. I attempted to buy a used truck from them and was turned off by many different factors outlined below. This place is run by a fraud and a con man. They should be investigated and have their business license revoked. The truck in question was stated to be "Clean inside and out". After talking with a Dave he communicated that many things had been fixed and this truck was in great shape. in reality, everything that had oil leaked it unto the ground to include Engine, transmission, steering and front differential. The radiator shroud was held in place with wire. There were many sheet metal screws holding on body molding and handles. The door key hole was punched in and the AC worked intermittently (according to them). This is in addition to the normal dents scratched and stains found in a truck of this year. The truck was touted as being an HD model. The HD Model does add value and was being considered when the price was made. After I drove 3 hours (one way) to purchase the vehicle, there was no badging or any other equipment to corroborate this. This was a pure intent to misled and defraud. Sale rep (Dave) refused to give the vin number out prior to inspection to receive a Carfax and claimed it was protection against fraud. I was told I would receive a clean car fax when I arrived. Once there, he did not provide a car fax and I suspect the title was not as clean as they suggested. in a conversation between Dave and another employee it was identified as not being done. I was still not given a carfax. He refused to allow me to test drive the truck and suggested that I ride as a passenger and "tell him where to turn slow and stop". This was too much. who would buy a car with out a test drive much less a used one from a tow yard? When Dave suspected that I was aware of the scam they were attempting he became confrontational, and irritable. Dave tried the hard sale tactics of if I don't buy it now he has a buying from Mexico tomorrow. There were many references to how long he's been in business blah blah blah. read more

I work for a different towing company and have been to there location on many occasions to pick up vehicles from them the people who work the desk whether male or female are plain rude. I just used this company to jump-start a dead 12v battery, and I am pleased with the speed and quality of their service. I picked this company because it was nearby and because of the good review by General D. My husbands car had been towed from 50 feet from our house. Our neighbors texted us to tell us it was being towed while we were in the middle of his father service. On our return two days later to get his car my husband paid the fine. He just wanted to see his car. The owner came out and started berating my husband and threatening to call the cops because he wanted to see his car. The owner, david Girard had no idea what had transpired between himself and the reception... The reception was absolutely lovely and was going to allow my husband to look at the car. However the owner who is quite elderly and obviously didn't take the time to ask any questions or hear what was going on completely lost it. Even towing is the hospitality business. People come to get their cars and they're already in a position of whether they had an accident or a toe or whatever it may have been. David Girard needs to have some compassion for people that come to bail out their cars. He does not know their situation. My husband had just lost his father. He had parked the car 50 feet from our house so that he could run up to Sacramento to be with his mother who just lost her husband. Mr. Girard did not know this or take the time to ask. I had a similar situation to the previous yelp review by Adam M. My 2012 Corvette died in a low clearance parking garage. I called several towing services of which none were as helpful as Girard Peterson Towing. They sent 2 tow trucks to accommodate my situation,one to take the car out of the low overhead parking structure and the other (a flatbed) to tow the car to the dealer without causing any damage to my car. Mike and Alex were prompt, kind and extremely efficient. They had the car up and out in no time flat. Wow! those guys really know what they are doing. My car died in Burbank, in a low clearance parking garage. Wah wah. I called a few places that did not have a truck that would fit in the garage, but when I called Girard & Peterson, they had a truck that did the trick. Friendly operator service, friendly and quality towing service, quick, painless, and a fair price. Technician towed it to a shop in NOHO for me, no problem. They quoted me a price on the phone before technician arrived (it took him only 10 minutes) and there were no hidden fees. I paid what they quoted me, and I thank them for that! total inconsiderate employees, never in my life have I seen such unprofessional-ism. I didn't even care about the fees, insurance took care of that. The stupid questions that they asked were irrelevant regarding our pick up. They just assume everybody walking in there is stupid or desperate. It's almost like they want you not to pick up vehicles so they benefit from it. I'll agree with some of the other feedback, unethical, no manners, and thieves...
