a hamburger and french fries
Iva S.

4 Stars because staff was very friendly and nice and my burger was tasty... For me, I ordered their burger which was pretty tasty. Unfortunately, my Fries weren't crispy. Two folks I sat next to didn't care for their dishes and felt it was over priced. Such a nice ambiance in this restaurant/bar / lounge but the food didn't rise to the occasion.... My friend that arrived before me experienced warm beer... beer that was tapped out... all in the same sitting... Manager recommendations. Upgrade the food that comes from the kitchen.... Turnover at the bar needs to be better so the beer is always cold. Also being sold out of certain menu items by 7pm isn't a good thing 3 people came in and asked for the fish dish and they were out. On a positive note, our Bartender made great drinks and was friendly.

Southern buttermilk Crispy chicken wings

We ordered two burgers and the crispy chicken wings, which were the best part, crispy, good flavor, good seasoning. Margaritas were a good 7/10. For the burgers, they were not bad, but not awesome either. Mine was a little bit burnt. Service, the guy that was taking absolutely everybody's orders and bartending was very nice and attentive, but poor guy had to be everywhere. Kudos to him!

Food was great. Drinks tasted like juice. Serves was extremely slow for no reason because there was only 2 people at the bar and the my table was just my significant other and myself.

Wonderful breakfast, was staying in the hotel. Omelette was light and fluffy, toast and bacon was perfect. Host was friendly and polite. Top notch restaurant.

Short rib and some eggs

I ate here twice and both meals were good. The wait staff was amazing. The food actually was pretty good from the presentation to the taste. The chef she was A1 I see this place has a low rating but honestly maybe it needs a lil razzle dazzle to it.

Bacon egg and cheese biscuit with home fries.

Service and coffee was good. I liked the vibe of the place as it was connected to our hotel. The biscuit was fine, nothing special but not bad. The home-fries were solid.

We were initially going to go to the karaoke bar next door but when we walked inside, it was wayyyy too loud and obnoxious so we were like perfect let's go across the street! We walk into the ramen spot and ask where the speakeasy is and the guy led us to the back and showed us to some stairs to go down. Seriously, how COOL is this place??? The neon lights were so fun! We walked into the bar and immediately loved it! Good amount of bar seating plus some comfy couches and whatnot. There was music but it wasn't too obnoxious, we were still able to have conversations - it was surprisingly chill and exactly what we were looking for. Chatted to the bartender who made some fancy shots for us, had a few drinks. It was not busy at all on a Sat night which was nice. It is very dark inside even with the neon lights so it does make it hard to read the menus (had to use flashlights on our phone). But super fun spot, fun drinks, not too expensive, and a neat and chill experience! It was an excellent find for us for sure!

Within minutes the place was packed, so although we were able to get a seat I'd still recommend making a reservation since the space fills up quickly. Initially I didn't realize this was a gin-focused bar, but now I'm hooked ( I told the bartenders about my usual preferences and they were able to make great recommendations). The drinks were incredibly well crafted and full of unique flavor. I started with one of their signature drinks but then asked for a bartender's choice based on what I typically enjoy and they absolutely nailed it. The space has a stylish speakeasy vibe that feels both elevated and inviting. You ring a bell to be let in, which makes the whole experience feel a little more special. Inside, it's moody and romantic with plush seating, gorgeous lighting, and a warm ambiance that's perfect for date night or just catching up with friends. Whether you're a gin enthusiast or just looking for a cool spot to grab a drink in DC, this place is absolutely worth checking out. I'm already planning my next visit.

During October, they were decked out really nicely with Halloween decor, including an It and Chucky mask on the walls to watch you while you eat. They had a cinnamon candle burning at front, and it filled the whole place with this warm, comforting spiced scent. It was great. On to the goods. The cocktails are fantastic classics. The vesper was excellent. Strong and lemony and well balanced. Food hit the spot, too. They have a smash burger, which has become all the rage, but their take is very good. Moist and cheesy with great flavor. One of the best around. We upgraded the side fries to truffle parmesan fries, and those were delicious as well. On the flip side, the wagyu pigs in the blanket, which looked so fun and delightful, were just ok. They came wrapped in an everything bun, but there just wasn't much flavor. That was the one miss in an otherwise top notch experience. I still highly recommend them. For a really special occasion slash expensive meal, Rose's Luxury is still the best bet around here, but if you don't want to spend hundreds of dollars, Lobby Bar might be your best choice for a solid meal in the Capitol Hill/Eastern Market area.
