I love Rowe's as you can find a lot of great deals and delicious hot foods that rival Winn Dixie and Publix, though Publix fried chicken always comes out on top. This is the closest Rowe's to me and the only thing I don't like is the lack of carriage return areas. There's only two in the whole lot and people leave carriages all over the place. But that doesn't deter me. I come and get whatever I need here, and love that they carry a lot of the actual Asian brands and staples that I use if I don't feel like driving a further distance to the Asian market. The only thing I notice is that the prices for ethnic foods at this Rowe's is a bit higher than the one on Old Baymeadows and Beach locations. It really sucks. The hot foods are delicious. Fried chicken is pretty good but does not compare to Publix. Their "smoke pit" hot foods though is actually bomb. The smoked chicken wings were delicious and definitely had that smokey flavor. You will find whatever you at Rowe's and for a great bargain. read more

This Rowe's is amazing. I had no idea! Their meat, seafood and produce sections are extensive. Their frozen has far more selection than I have seen anywhere. The prices are so low! Hidden secret right here! read more

Rowe's is the United Nations of grocery store home to food items from around the world. A slice of food rainbow in Duval. It's only in the last year that I discovered this gem when I found Green Tea Ice Cream. It made me walk around the store & to my surprise there were two aisles full of Filipino foods not found at the local Publix or Winn Dixie. Some of the unique items I found were ingredients for Halo Halo, Magnolia ice cream, Pansit noodles, Bean cakes, Tocino, Langonisa & hundreds more. They also have fresh fish & meats to satisfy many ethnics groups not just Pinoys of Jacksonville. They have a large bakery with many types of breads & pastry. Their produce is extensive & priced lower than other stores in the area. Walking through Rowe's is quite an experience. Its an adventure. It's like visiting many countries through food. read more

When I come to Duval I go straight to Rowe's!!! I find all I need and more and leave with everything I wanted and more.

This Rowe's is a nice, clean, well-stocked supermarket. They are often very busy and sometimes it can be crazy trying to find a parking space. They carry a lot of Ethnic foods and ingredients. I stop by here quite often, but only when I need to pick up 2 or 3 items and I'm not in the mood for Walmart drama. I don't do my huge grocery shopping here. I find the prices are pretty comparable with Walmart. Some items they do have on sale and may be cheaper, but Walmart and other grocery stores have sales too. When they are busy, they make sure they have plenty of employees working and they keep pretty much all of the registers open. Most of the cashiers are extremely friendly. They'll ask me how my day is going, etc. and always have a smile. It's nice to feel like people actually care! Checking out here really is usually a very smooth and quick process. In particular, I have a thing for their already packaged mustard potato salad. Others stores that sell it usually have onions or other crunchy things in it and I don't know exactly what I'm eating. I'm picky, eat like a 2 year old, and don't like weird texture crunchy things in my food. Their potato salad doesn't have anything weird or crunchy in it, so I really like it. And it's cheap... 2 pounds for $2.99. I was just in there today, as a matter of fact, to pick up some potato salad and nothing else. The store is pretty small, when you walk in, you can see from one end of the store to the other. I like the fact it's brightly lit, so you can see everything very well. It's amazing they manage to get so many products in such a relatively small place. They have a nice deli area where you can get lunchmeat sliced. They also have fresh breads, muffins, etc. They sell the 8 pieces of hot fried chicken for like $7, but I do not recommend it. It's not very good. If you're looking for hot fried chicken from a grocery store, I recommend Publix first and then Walmart. We've tried it from Rowe's twice and it hasn't been good either time. I won't purchase it again. I do recommend this Rowe's. Like I said, I don't do my large shopping trips here, but it is very nice and convenient when I just need to pick up a few items. read more

Rowe's Supermarket - Meat department - Grocery Near Me - Jacksonville, Florida

Rarely does a grocery get me excited. I stumbled upon this when I was in the area and forgot to get something on my usual grocery trip. I walked in and was immediately in awe. They have everything from the huge stew pots seen in traditional West African household to boba that I used to by in china town. I bought mochi and ripe plantains in the same trip! I can never get ripe plantain anywhere else. There was fufu powder and all types of root veggies, even goat meat! I felt like a kid in a truly international candy store. I love cooking african, asian, and latino food and used to have to got to a bunch of different stores for ingredients. Now I can go to one place! The floor is a little crowded and the store does have a musty smell but all of it is worth it so I can get fresh green coconuts to have pipa or yuca to make stew. They do have your usual grocery store items, but those are a bit pricier than I normally would get. This is my special grocery store, not for my basic items. read more

Don't expect excellent customer service when you come here, actually don't expect to find employees in a Rowe's uniform because almost all of the employees are not in uniform, if there's a such thing here. What you can expect is a parking lot that's difficult to navigate, a semi-clean supermarket, quality of fruits and vegetables is sub par along with the meats and seafood and the above mention regarding the customer service. So why the 4 stars? If you are looking to make a dish using Ethnic ingredients, more than likely you will find that here. Also, everything here is pretty affordable, no sales or coupons needed but if you have coupons, why not right? Be advised though, they do not allow backpacks. I found this out when I tried to bring in my son's diaper bag. They were accommodating but I'm sure it's to prevent people from stealing. I'm cool with that, it keeps the prices down. read more

I went to purchase a specific meat cut. According to the package it was safe to use for another 4 days, I purchased it. That same day I went to use it, just by opening the package you could smell this Faull smell and when I inspected the bottom of the meat there was mold formed all over!!! This is Unacceptable!!! I see now why everything there is more affordable!!! Will Never again shop here!! read more

What a fun grocery store this is! It's clean and smells good and has the most outstanding stock of ethnic foods I have seen ever in a grocery store. Chock full of Asian and Latin brands, both canned and refrigerated foods. Amazing. The prices were fantastic as well. On the other hand, the prices of most of the typical American goods was about average, some lower, some higher than other grocers in town. I will definitely go here again. read more

Not exactly a Seafood City, but for Jacksonville this place is pretty decent for stocking up on your ethnic staples and snacks. Although some of the ppl who shop here seem a little shady, it is a great place to buy some hard-to-find products and their prices are outstanding. You can spend hours in this store just picking up things you think you need but really don't. read more

Once upon a time, Rowe's IGA was Albertson's. I think the switchover happened when I was in Italy. I can't quite remember, anyways, Rowe's is a usual stop after the Bargain House of Fleas and Flowers Baking Co. Rowe's is a grocery store that caters more to international and ethnic faire. Most everything in here is easy on the pocket, even the meat and fish. Most of my significant other's family is Filipino and this is a place that my in-laws can find everything that they need for the Filipino-style meals that they want to create. I think my father-in-law found pompano here for $2.50 to $3 a pound. I'm still rather uneducated in the realm of Filipino food outside the likes of lumpia, pancit, banana lumpia, and calame, but apparently that is a good price for that fish. I usually stick with tilapia, though. As I'm usually just tagging along with one of my in-laws when I go here, I haven't really gotten to just take my time to explore the store. If we lived closer, I could definitely do some grocery shopping here as a lot of the American-style faire is decently priced as well. read more

If you're a foodie that loves cooking different cuisines but dislikes having to go to multiple markets to get all the supplies for your dish. Thankfully Rowe's has aisle after aisle of different cuisines with snacks, drinks, spices, sauces etc from those particular regions. The Asian aisle had Korean, Japanese, Chinese, Vietnamese, and some other stuff I have not seen in my food market hunts. Very happy this is close by and the produce is always super fresh. read more

Best place for international food items and products. I have no real need to visit any other Supermarket chain.

Really like this place, had lots of my favorite food items from home. Not expensive, will definitely be back.

This used to be an Albertson's (it's your store...remember the jingle?). When Rowe's replaced Albertson, I had no idea what to expect. Initially, I thought it was a discount grocery store, like Save-a-Lot. However, it's become a specialized grocery store. It's great that Jax has a grocery store like this not only for people of different ethnicities to shop at but for curious minds to explore foods from other cultures. I can tell you a lot of Hispanic, Caribbean, and Asian people shop here. They have all sorts of ingredients and produce from around the world. You can buy ingredients to make tamales, purchase ox tail or goat, etc. It's definitely not a complete selection, but it's pretty close. I definitely believe the store is improving everyday, especially with the Asian grocery selection. I'm pretty impressed at some of the products they stock. For instance, fish sauce, vermicelli, etc. The place is maintained fairly decent and the staff are friendly enough. I'm glad it's close by to my family since the Asian grocery store is still a bit far. read more

Do not value the customer I am only giving this one star because I have to rate it. I am a regular shopper at this location once a week if not twice had a issue with a product. Call the store a young lady said I can return the item when I got there encountered to the store manager Blake. He was very rude and would not allow me to return my product. I love Rowe's IGA Supermarket! Not only am I supporting a family owned business, they are a great supermarket. I am a 62 year old white boy, but I love cooking all sorts of ethnic foods. Christmas Day was the first time I visited Rowe's. I have often overlooked this store because of my unfamiliarity with the brand. My experience on Christmas Day was amazing. The store was clean and well stocked despite this being a holiday. I found everything I needed at an incredible low price. I love that you don't need a reward card to take advantage of the great savings. The staff was professional and attentive. My only regret is that I haven't shopped there sooner! read more

This place has pretty much everything you need for just about any dish you can think of. The upgrades have been tremendous over the past year. I do wish it had a second entrance/exit and a bigger parking lot for how busy it can be. Also, they need those small baskets that you can carry. read more

This is for service: This is not the first time this has happened. I am next in line 15 or less. I am in a hurry meeting someone leaving the state in 30 minutes. Everything OK. Cashier on 6 calls me and says come to 6 no waiting (directly to me). I pull out of line and before I can get to 6 she starts taking meats out of line 5 and putting them on her counter and the person in 5 pulls out a cart full of packages meats and PUSHES ahead of me "Sorry". I immediately turn back to the 15 or less and guess what, yep! 4 people in line. No other registers open. Service is number with me. I got no appoligy but I did leave the cart and will never shop there again. read more
