I feel that Chambers charges a very reasonable amount for their repairs, and for all that it seems like a small back street garage, I had them replace the battery on my Mini Cooper because a larger shop didn't know how to "register" the new battery on the computer as Mini/BMW suggests. They had no problem with it. The only disadvantage is that they do not handle inspection stickers, but it a minor concern since so many other local garages offer the service. For most other things I will keep using Chambers!

It is just too difficult to get an appointment there. I called three mornings in a row, because they don't take appointments. First call, first serve, or something like that. On the third day I got through ten minutes after they opened and was told he had 20 people standing in front of him and I would have to try again the next day. Sort of reminds me of those radio station giveaways: Be the fifth caller and win concert tickets! But if you are the fourth or sixth caller, better luck next time! Well, I called a different repair shop the next morning and they got me in that day for the work. It is just over a mile out from the Main Street Hill road intersection and has a blue sign out front that is hard to miss.** When my washer solvent hoses froze and stopped working, I planned to take it to a shop I had been to once before. But I noticed that by coincidence someone had brought their vehicle to them for the same problem and it didn't go well at all. That is how I happened to take it to Rick's Auto repair, whom I knew nothing about and saw no reviews for to speak of. But it was a lucky chance that took me there. Rick did a great job. He worked on the vehicle the same day even though he had a couple other jobs on, and when he found that the washer reservoir was pretty full but half frozen, he and an associate kept at the problem by flushing the tank with hot water until it all freed up. The washer pump was also damaged, which I had already figured on, but it was a standard model and available without needing to be ordered. So the job was finished to my satisfaction earlier than I expected and, as a bonus, I had planned to walk home after dropping it off as I live close to the old address, but the Charlston Road location is farther away and RIck graciously offered to give me a ride home. We are fairly new to Dexter and love the town, and it is a relief to have lined up a repair shop I trust not to just sell repairs but rather advise you what he would do if it were his vehicle.

I stopped there after cutting a tire on my new 2018 Tundra. Not only did the young man patch up the tire, he went a step further and removed the spare from under my truck, balanced both tires, swapped rims with the damaged tire, replaced the spare under the truck. I dropped my car off and it was ready several days later! They repaired my car mid January. It was covered it dirt/mud and salt from the road, the inside dash was dust, and my front plate was on the floor of the car due to hitting the deer and it flying off! When I picked the car up it the repairs had been done (of course, what I paid for) the had spied all the dust off my dashboard (it was so clean and pretty), and they had sent my car through a car wash! It was the cleanest I had seen it in a while. They didn't need to wipe my car down and have it washed, I didn't ask them to, and I didn't pay for it, but they did it anyways! They went above and beyond! Great great people!
