It is just over a mile out from the Main Street Hill road intersection and has a blue sign out front that is hard to miss.** When my washer solvent hoses froze and stopped working, I planned to take it to a shop I had been to once before. But I noticed that by coincidence someone had brought their vehicle to them for the same problem and it didn't go well at all. That is how I happened to take it to Rick's Auto repair, whom I knew nothing about and saw no reviews for to speak of. But it was a lucky chance that took me there. Rick did a great job. He worked on the vehicle the same day even though he had a couple other jobs on, and when he found that the washer reservoir was pretty full but half frozen, he and an associate kept at the problem by flushing the tank with hot water until it all freed up. The washer pump was also damaged, which I had already figured on, but it was a standard model and available without needing to be ordered. So the job was finished to my satisfaction earlier than I expected and, as a bonus, I had planned to walk home after dropping it off as I live close to the old address, but the Charlston Road location is farther away and RIck graciously offered to give me a ride home. We are fairly new to Dexter and love the town, and it is a relief to have lined up a repair shop I trust not to just sell repairs but rather advise you what he would do if it were his vehicle.

I was clearly desperate and would have paid more than the regular hourly rate. Guess what? I was only charged for 1/2 hour labor!!! If I could give these guys 100 stars, I would give them 500. If you live in the area, you can be sure you have an honest mechanic town. If they did not add on anything to a stranded traveler, any local customer can take the word of Bug and Joe's as gospel.

So now when the wind hits it it doesn't stay in place and you can see the paint on my mirror where he hit it. He denied it instead of being decent and coming good for his mistake. My manager was with me when i dropped my truck off and she knows as well it wasn't like that before. He was supposed to do the rear break line still leaks after hours of working on a very simple break line job. well he loves zip ties that's for sure he will zip tie your whole vehicle if he could. Prior to him opening this garage he also used to work for ramsdells in hartland which at that time him and the owners son of that garage tried to do a fuel pump and broke the air flow off the gastank and decided to glue it back on what Scott and that other guy did cost me thousands too fix. Wish I could give zero stars. Waste of time and money. After charging me $115 for a simple…read morediagnosis of a failed A/C compressor, they proceeded to tell me that in order for the warranty to be valid on a new compressor, they would also have to replace the condenser and a bunch of other parts which were not broken, all for a total of over $1900. I never heard of such a requirement for a "warranty". I asked them for other choices, such as replacing the compressor only and forget the warranty, or install a second-hand compressor. I also asked if the $115 diagnostic charge would be applied as a credit on the final bill. I don't think that was well received. The attendant said she would have to ask the mechanic and get back to me. She never called me back. I guess they figured I was not going to be a pushover customer, so they decided to run with my $115. Meanwhile I got a dealer quote to replace the compressor with an EOM part and warranty for $1300. A mechanic friend of mine advised that I go with the dealer, since private shops often use overpriced after market parts anyway. I never found an auto repair shop that charges more than a dealer, but this is it. THESE PEOPLE ARE CROOKS.
